Sewer Cleaning reviews in Annandale

I was extremely happy with the service I received from this company. At the beginning I worked with Dave to determine the problem and get a quote to do the work. Next Lukas come out to try to remove the roots from the sewer pipe with a high pressure water jet but wisely stopped when it became apparent this approach wasn't going to work. A few days later John G and Cory R came out for a big 2 day repair job. John G and Cory R did a fantastic job in replacing the bad section of sewer pipe. I felt they were very knowledgable and competent and also very nice in answering all my questions or taking care of any concerns I had. Especially working in the basement of my house, breaking up an area of the basement slab, they were extremely careful not to get any dirt or mess into any other area of the house. John and Cory were also careful to minimize the disruption on the outside of the house, too. Another team member Morgan expertly handled the permit and inspection process. Overall I felt the company was big enough to have the resources to get the job done correctly but small enough to have the personal touch to really care they solved my problem and wanted me happy with the work

Master Plumber David Justinian responded within 30 minutes. He analyzed the situation and recommended snaking out the floor drain. After that, the problem still existed. David said the problem was probably with the main sewer line running from the house to sewer in the street. He removed the toilet in the basement bathroom and ran a larger and longer snake into the sewer line. Upon completion of that process, he ran a special camera down the line as far as the street. The final 20' or so of the line was still clogged with old grease and other debris.
He then ran a "jetter" machine in the sewer line which blasts the line with very high water pressure to clear out the final clog. He had to do this four or five times. After that he ran a camera down the line one more time, and
it showed a clear line all the way to the street. Davide said the grease buildup had probably been there for 15 years or more. Anyway, the entire process took about 3.5 hours, but we are now assured that our sewage line is completely clear.
As always, David, his helper (Argardo), and Greg (the owner) who was also present, were all professional and courteous. This is an absolute FIRST-RATE company and we will certainly use them again for any future plumbing needs.

In early August, the sewer drain in our basement backed up resulting in very minor flooding of the laundry room.  The first plumber from another company snaked the pipe and opened it for a short time, but the back-up problem returned shortly thereafter.  On his advice, we called All American Drain Service since they have the equipment to water-jet the drain which thoroughly scours the pipe's inside surface.  First, All American inspected the existing sewer drain pipe from the house to the street connection. Then, they conducted water jetting to clear the clogged drain and video-inspected the old pipe.  The problem was identified as a collapsing section of Orangeburg sewer pipe located about 14 feet below a large ornamental cherry tree in our front yard.  Roots had penetrated the pipe and it was oval in cross-section.  The water jetting temporarily cleared the pipe, but the back-up problem returned.  We discussed various techniques for replacing the deteriorated pipe with Mr. Ricky Salinas of All American Drain Service, and settled on a technique called "pipe bursting".  This required excavation of two holes in our front just outside of the house and the other between the street curb and our cherry tree.  These holes were approximately 14 feet deep and exposed the ends of the pipe needing replacement.  They attached a long section of thick black plastic pipe to a steel nose-cone shaped penetrator, then pulled the penetrator through the existing pipe with a steel cable while inserting the new black pipe behind it to replace the old Orangeburg pipe.  This part of the job only took about 20 minutes to complete.  The crew then removed the cable and penetrator, cut the black pipe to length, and connected it to the cast iron pipes from the basement and street connections.
All American worked quickly.  We signed a contract on Tuesday, the crew began work the next day, the county inspector arrived on Thursday, the holes were filled/compacted/seeded, and the entire job was completed by Friday.  Water and sewer service were only shut off for about eight hours on Wednesday, so the inconvenience was minimal.  It's been two months since the work was done and we've had no problems with the new sewer line.
All American was not the lowest priced plumbing company that does this type of work, but their price was very competitive.  All work was done well and they even took time to replant an azalea bush the had to be removed to allow access to the drain pipe and reseeded the yard where necessary.  Also, our cherry tree was not harmed and looks great.  If you need to have your sewer drain pipe replaced, I strongly recommend you consider using All American Drain Service!

Two days after initial contact, Long's Corporation sent two very pleasant and polite young men, Michael and Ryan, to determine what was causing a sewer line backup and clear the drain.  They arrived about 10 minutes before the anticipated time, spent about 15 minutes testing the drain system, and determined that the partial blockage could be cleared by power-snaking the line.  Since the sewer pipes are about 50 years old and the access cover was likely permanently fused to the vertical down pipe, Michael chose to remove the downstairs toilet so he could snake the system through that opening.  In two hours, they had completed the snaking job and re-seated the toilet.  The men took time to clean the floor in the bathroom and wiped down the toilet, leaving the area clean and presentable.  They answered all of the questions I had, so now I know more about the condition of my home's drainage system.  It's been four days since the service call and I've experienced no further sewer backups.  I would recommend this company without hesitation!

Calling for service was a breeze and I was able to schedule a visit for the next day. The appointment was scheduled for 4 pm and I was pleasantly surprised when I got a call they would be early. During the initial assessment the plumber let me know that the sink drain connection was an easy fix but the leak, due to its location, was a bigger effort than what the single plumber could do that day and would require some consultation to prepare a quote. It took him less than 30 minutes to repair the sink drain connection and then a few more minutes to take pictures of the leak to take back to the office. While on one hand it would have been nice to have had both problems fixed I appreciate the quick professional assessment and look forward to discussing the quote for the leak.

This company did a really good job.  They gave us a bid that was competitive, but they were more helpful than the other company about explaining our options.  They dug up the yard, put safety devices around the area while waiting for the inspector, came back to put plywood over the hole when it snowed, got the inspection, and then filled the hole back up.  They put most of the plants back where they came from and seeded the lawn.    Given the weather problems in the 2013/2014 winter, there were a lot of communications back and forth --  not always smooth, but it always worked out fine.

Purchased under a "Big Deal" coupon and was pleased that we got 2 hours of labor for such a good price. The Plumber was professional and responsive. He snaked out a clogged drain and replaced a broken faucet.

Was it Jim Morrison who sang "No gets out of here alive"? Well, no one gets out of sewer line work for cheap. Quality is the key. And Long's is your answer. They came, they snaked, they dug. It cost a lot but I'm much happier having forked over my hard-earned cash to professionals like Sherry, Teresa and the crew with confidence than to the sketch dudes proposing bids 30-40 percent higher.
We've had a several major crappy sewer line problems totaling almost $30k. So, I'm now almost a certified expert in line clearance and repair. I wish I'd called Long's three years ago. We've called emergency plumbers several times, each charging a minimum of $400-600 to snake , unclog debris and run a camera. When the BIG problems (tree root damage) came into play, excavation was required at $6000 (those rates can go up quickly from there based on pipe length and complexity of the dig). This last incident was a collapsed orangeburg pipe BEYOND the previous full sewer line excavation and replacement from 18 months ago. Arrgh! This required a $19,000 excavation below the street and sidewalk?.tacking on massive costs for permits and asphalt replacement. Long's took care of it end to end.
Long's showed up for a non-emergency snake, camera and estimate the day after I called. Sherry went above and beyond two previous companies' efforts, breaking through the clogging debris AND clearing hefty collapsed pipe debris further down. She marked the damage spots and got measurements for an excavation estimate. Her work cleared the line well enough to get another month of regular use before the big dig would start. So huge points to Long's for having experienced personnel and good customer service going above and beyond.
The dig was designed to minimize displacement and costs. Two deep holes were made (yard and street) then the crew burst out the old pipe while feeding new replacement pipe in. All done in a day. The alternative to this approach would have been a massive, deep 10-16' ditch. A secondary paving crew arrived later to do a VDOT-required finished pave -- a massive part of the expense. Overall, this was a totally professional and courteous crew. The intrusion was minimal.  I can't say enough good things about Long's. They did a lot to ease the pain of this kind of major work.
[Note for home buyers and Fairfax County residents: This work occurred in a 1950s-era development. Every month, someone in the neighborhood is replacing decayed or tree-crushed orangeburg sewer pipe. We did not think to inspect the sewer line as part of our home purchase inspection. Knowing what I do now, I'd demand it for any future purchase of a home older than 25 years. Also, In most every other place in America, the county/city takes responsibility for sewer lines at the sidewalk and beyond. in Fairfax, the HOMEOWNER  is responsible for the ENTIRE sewer line from the home to the sewer main. Again, another hard lesson of homeownership in NoVa. I hope this helps someone else!]

They have been very good to work with and they solved a problem that another plumbing company has not been able to detect. We are about to get it permanently fixed, but they did a very nice temporary fix. They sent a camera through the line. They are very nice and professional to work with. Their pricing is comparable to competitors, but it is expensive.

I called Sparkle Drain with the intent to have them snake our drain as they had a few years ago.  Larry expressed concern about snaking the sewer line so soon again, and recommended we instead camera the line to see exactly what was going on.  They were able to come out the next day and shed light on exactly what was going on with our sewer line.  The camera clearly showed broken pipe just under our foundation as well as gaping pipe further out into our yard.  Larry explained what would eventually happen should both issues go unaddressed.  He also explained that while we could go ahead and snake the pipe to get rid of some of the root infiltration, it would likely cause a backup later as the snake would bring some of the roots back into the line.  Larry was honest and forthcoming in his appraisal and kindly recommended Syd's Plumbing should I decide to replace the sewer line pipe.  I highly recommend Sparkle Drain.
