Fairfax ENT & Facial Plastic Surgery
Dr Egan is an expert and cleared up my life-long congestion. He performed a simple procedure for turbinate reduction. I was skeptical having had my septum reconstructed years ago by another surgeon and suffering significant blood loss, in addition to not getting relief of the congestion. But in my first visit with Dr Egan, he quickly addressed another issue I had been having, and that instilled my trust in him. When the medication we tried first didn't work, Dr Egan confidently explained the turbinate reduction would give me relief. The procedure went very well and recovery was quick and without complication. Even when I recently had a cold, I have been able to breathe like I never could before. Dr Egan is a skilled ENT and a very caring physician. His office is staffed with pleasant, professional people as well.

    McHale, Dr. Kathleen A.
Extremely disappointed in the professionalism of Dr. McHale's office. My son had an appointment with her in May, 2018, at which time she prescribed an MRI and made a follow-up appointment to review the MRI results. I took off work, took my son out of school, and battled rush-hour traffic for the follow-up appointment, only to be called by their office 5 minutes before arriving that not only was she not in that office on that day, but that she was NEVER scheduled in the office on that day. The office said there was a "miscommunication" on their part, and would happily re-schedule me for a month from now! Meanwhile, my son can hardly walk. When I called the office back to complain, the receptionist also asked me "not to use vulgar language" on the phone after I used the word "****" (in the context of "what the **** is going on"). I hardly consider that vulgar, and certainly didn't say anything worse as I was very aware of my children in the car with me when I called. That comes across as very lazy to me - looking for some false excuse to get off the phone rather than actually deal with the mistake they made. I'd strongly suggest that anyone in need of orthopedic care look elsewhere. Read through more recent reviews on other sites and you will see that Dr. McHale is definitely someone to avoid.

Fairfax ENT & Facial Plastic Surgery
Update: One day after posting this the Fairfax ENT office manager contacted me. We went over what happened and she agreed to refund all but the $75 dollar charge for the ear cleaning. Fairfax ENT has some work to do to make sure their insurance practices work better, but at least they made things right after the fact. Original review: Deceptive at every turn. My 86 year old mother needed her ears cleaned and her pcp suggested she would be more comfortable getting it done at an ent facility and suggested Fairfax ENT. I called them and asked if they took my mom's insurance. They said they did. When we arrived for the appointment all of a sudden they DONT take my mom's insurance. I ask them for the cash price to clean my mom's ears and they told my $75. They took my mom back and when they returned they charged her over $300 to clean her ears, quickly pick out a foreign body, and a "consult" which we never asked for. Highway robbery.

    Wolf, Dr. Kathy E.

I started getting reminder e-mails well before my appointment date, two weeks at least.  And I got a call.  Okay, good to know.

My job is such that I have to be careful about scheduling doctor appointments because it means a day off without pay.  I scheduled for 3:30 in the afternoon in hopes that I could work half a day.  I received a call from the office the day before my appointment at 5:00 at night saying that Dr. Davis had an emergency procedure and would not be in the office for my appointment.  That time of night is too late for me to arrange a job so there is hundreds of dollars down the drain.  I got the message the next morning since they just left a message about canceling the appointment.  Apparently it is not as important to them as to me.  I called the office when I got the message and was told that I could see a different doctor at my same appointment time.  Okay, Dr. Davis makes you wait a long time so that was fine.

I get there in time for my appointment and who do you think I meet going out the door as I was going in?  Right, Dr. Davis.  Amazing.  I went up to the office and was informed by the office staff that the doctor I was scheduled to see doesn't accept Medicare but they could schedule me for an appointment on Thursday.  Great.  Another day without pay.  No thanks.  Do I want to schedule to see a doctor who lies about being in the office and has so little regard for her patients that she walks out when the appointment is schedule?  Nope.  Won't be going back.

    Lamberti, Dr. James P.
Dr. Lamberti's staff took vitals, spirometer reading, walking exertion test and chest x-ray.  Dr. Lamberti quickly reviewed all results and discussed them thoroughly and with a calm, patient-centered demeanor.  He took the time to answer all questions well and gave encouraging advice.  His treatment is producing good results with better lung function.  Dr. Lamberti and his staff are friendly, punctual and work in a clean, efficient medical office in a convenient location.  The doctor and staff communicate clearly and compassionately - great bedside manner.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ward since Dr. McDonald closed his DC practice in the mid 1990's.  Dr. Ward and his PA John Curtain are outstanding. They are thorough, easy to schedule, and best of all - they've patiently brought me from a place of near death to great health.  In 2003 I weighed 185 pounds (on my broad 6'6 frame) and looked like I'd walked out of a concentration camp.  Today - we're focused on retirement planning and diet (as I need to drop about 30 pounds).
They are at the absolute forefront in the fight on HIV/AIDS; and employ a full-time study nurse (Linda Kirkman) who'm I've known for over 20 years.  Linda manages their studies - many of which are available to patients at no charge to them or their insurance.  I credit my longstanding HIV health to having access to new/advanced medicines through their affiliation with the drug companies discovering these new treatments.  Dr. Ward is sought after as an international speaker on the subject of HIV and is always on top of the latest advancements.
If you are seeking high quality primary or HIV/HEP care - you would do very well to seek out Dr. Ward and his team.

    Major, Dr. Mary J.
She is wonderful. She is with a group called General Internal Medicine Group. I've been going to her for about 35 years. I like her. She is thorough. She doesn't just give you a prescription and tell you to away. She really thinks about things.

The location for this OB/GYN is extremely convenient as she works in the same building. Upon arriving to the clinic 10 minutes prior to her appointment, she signed in and waited to be seen. My wife is a patient person, so if the Dr. was running a bit late, it wouldn't have been a problem. After nearly an hour after her scheduled appointment time she asked the reception team how much longer she would need to wait as she needed to return to work. It was only after approaching the desk was she informed that the Dr. was obviously running late and that it would be at least another 15 minutes before being see. UNACCEPTABLE. To top it off, my wife was made to feel bad after being informed that she would be seen in front of there's that had were there before she was. The Coup de grace was being told after waiting now for over an hour that her consultation could have been conducted over a 2-minute phone call. Never again.

I like this provider but unfortunalty can't stay with Dr. Ryan due to the fact that I don't want to wait in any office for 2 hours and have no transportation. This is a good provider don't get me wrong but if I had my own car I would stay with Dr. Ryan but sadly can't you will me missed.

    Thomas Acupuncture & Herbs Clinic
This was my first use of acupuncture and I was skeptical; however, other pain relief treatments from other care givers did not relieve the pain. Two acupuncture treatments per week for about ~3 weeks caused the pain to go away. The treatment involved needles inserted into the hand and wrist area. Wires were connected to the needles that produced an electrical stimulation. The treatment was not painful. I was advised to stop taking pain relief medication recommended by other care givers and that several weeks would be requied to flush these medications from my system. Dr Thomas knows acupuncture very well and the treatments were very effective. His English is not good however that did not negatively impact his ability to effectively treat the pain.
