AMendez Painting Services LLCI Look at Angie's list of companies that will repair the stairwell look at Mendez painting with very good reviews I decided to call him so that he can come to my house to see the problem when I was walked into the stairwell there was a lot of noise, Mr.Mendez Find something wrong when he did the inspection I found 2 Stair Strings was broken from the part where it connected to the second-floor Mr, Mendez recommended me to re-plaster it / and replaced 3 sections of thread single steps with white Oak and handrails and balusters he gave me a fair quote, I hired him to Make the projects. He did a great job now we are very satisfied the problem was fix very well and we have new stairwell and handrails was a good experience work with Mr. Mendez he was in the projects every day until the project was done we are very happy with Mendez Painting Team they did great work With the reasonable price I gladly recommend him for the high quality of work and communication Thank you, Antonio Di Paolo- Antonio D.

AShine Select Power Washing & Roof CleaningBottom line, believe all the positive reviews. Very professional, great work ethic, very much customer-oriented, do quality work. I sent an email to ShineSelect for a small job to pressure wash the front steps and the walkway in front of my townhouse, my email included a photo with a description of the area to be cleaned. I got a quick reply with the date and time they would arrive. I later sent an email asking if I could add the front of my townhouse including the windows, and was told they would give me a price for that when they arrived. They were 1-1/2 hours late. I called about 10 minutes after the scheduled appointment and was told they would be an hour late. After they missed that time I called again and was told it would be another 20-30 minutes. If they had called me it would have been fine, I would have understood. I told him the only reason I didn't cancel was due to all the very positive reviews, so I knew I wanted ShineSelect to do the job. But, I would have appreciated a call from them to let me know. All communications with ShineSelect had been via email. When they arrived I was told they had sent a text message to let me know they would be late. Problem is, my phones do not support texting. The only caller ID I saw was for a number listed in Winchester, VA. No message was left on voice mail, I understand a text message sent to a non-texting phone sends the message into the ether. They offered to do the additional work at no additional charge. The work was beautiful. I highly recommend ShineSelect and will most definitely call them again.- Fran D.

BI had trouble getting someone to answer the phone initially or respond to message sent through Angie's List. When I got someone to answer the phone and got an estimate, he indicated that he would call the day before to confirm a time. He did not. I called the day of the appointment and was told 11-1. The 2-man crew came at 10. That was fine. I was just happy they showed up. He did the walk around and quoted me a higher price because it included the garage windows and doors (which I had forgotten). When booking the appointment, I mentioned the Angie's List coupon and he said he would make sure they took the maximum amount off. I really have no way of knowing, as I did not get an itemized bill. Julio and his partner did a great job with the windows, screens and sills. They were both very pleasant. Next time I would get a price per window, screen and sill upfront so I know what to expect. I would give the crew an A rating for their work, but because of the scheduling and billing issues, I rated them a B overall.

FWinston's overcharges and uses a service call as an opportunity to sell new gas log insert sets. They charged roughly $50 more per gas log set than a competitor I used later. Service technician cleaned and relit the smaller of my two sets nicely. He then examined the larger one and told me it was broken (I could not understand his explanation of how the pilot light shutoff valve had failed) and said it would be cheaper to buy a new log set (estimate around $2500). He said the cleaning fee could be credited against a new log set. For this I was charged $230 each for the two fireplaces - total $465. I called another service, had the "broken" pilot light relit and the log set checked for $185.
