I saw Cassie Root for both issues and highly recommend her.  In my experience, it is difficult to find a doctor in this area that will take the time to actually listen to you, answer all of your questions, and recommend a thoughtful, personalized treatment plan.  Dr. Root did all of those, and still managed to be efficient.  She doesn't jump to surgery right away, but also is honest in saying when its time for that option.  I have pretty high standards and am rarely fully satisfied with the medical profession, but I can recommend her without any reservations.

It was a wonderful experience and as a nurse I'm a hard grader for medical experiences. Every person was friendly and helpful. They were so punctual I was amazed! Dr. Colvin was kind and patient. He explained everything thoroughly and checked for questions. Thier surgical coordinator was also very helpful and thorough. I couldn't have been happier!

The doctor was patronizing and did not listen to me.  When he did his exam and asked where it hurt, he actually answered for me before I could respond.  He took and x-ray, which was unnecessary and then prescribed physical therapy.  I ended up receiving treatment from my chiropractor via ultrasound therapy and strengthening exercises, which helped the problem.  I would never go back, nor would I recommend this doctor to anyone.  I don't know if the situation would have been different if my injury was more severe, but I did not have a good experience.

The first time I went to the office, the front desk person was irritated and passed on her discomfiture. I was not at all impressed by the office staff. Not even a hint of a smile. The paperwork was astounding and requests for clarification were obviously unappreciated interruptions in the busy office. I am glad I arrived thirty minutes prior to my appointment to complete it. Then I sat in the waiting room until twenty five minutes PAST my appointment to be called back. The nurse or assistant was pleasant, asked me a few questions and put me in a room to wait for the doctor. He arrived twenty five minutes later. There are obviously scheduling problems with this office. I had a difficult time understanding him and what he wanted me to do, but I figured it out with some questions. The second visit was with a different doctor as I did not feel comfortable with the first. When I called to make the appointment and provider change, I was lectured by the person on the phone that this was not standard and making a doctor change was difficult. My satisfaction of treatment clearly was not a priority. I went through the same routine with the exception of paperwork on my second visit. This time I waited forty minutes after my appointment time to be escorted to the treatment room. Then I waited an additional twenty minutes to see the doctor. He gave me a solid four minutes of his time and made a treatment recommendation of two weeks of physical therapy. I sought another doctor's opinion in a completely treatment office not affiliated with Commonwealth and am now scheduled for surgery to repair the injury. I will never go to Commonwealth again for any kind of assistance.

I broke my leg biking. This Ortho group takes call at the Alexandria INOVA hospital, so we went there. Dr. Peter Thomas specializes in hand surgery, but had call the weekend I broke my leg. He did the required surgery and patched me up with three screws in my right femur. I returned to see him at several points throughout my recovery period; and he was a pleasure to deal with. He took time to engage with me...I really appreciated his congeniality and concern. I also had a great result. I can do anything now I could do before and consider myself almost fully recovered. I did a week-long bike trip three months after the surgery and went skiing in Utah seven months after.

    Pace, Dr. Angelo
Dr Pace knew exactly what he was doing and let me know how to best recover after the surgery. I had to page him once and not only did he call back, but he followed up in a few hours to make sure I was okay. He walked me through steps to make my foot more comfortable. I highly recommend him!

My wrist had been bothering me slightly for several weeks, and I finally decided to have someone check on it. I called on a Wednesday and was able to get in the following Friday, which was fantastic.
My appointment was mostly on time; a friendly tech took me for an x-ray quickly, though I did have to wait over a half hour for the doctor to arrive. Since the pain was only slight and difficult to describe, I was almost positive I would get a shrug and/or dismissive and quot;I can't find anything broken, just rest/RICE it.and quot; But Dr. Croog performed a very thorough exam of both wrists, and determined that I might have torn a ligament.
He referred me for an MRI, which had immediate availability, though I couldn't get back in to see Dr. Croog again till the following week. He diagnosed me with a partial tear and referred me to a PT for a custom brace.
Overall it was a great experience; the staff was friendly and professional, and Dr. Croog seemed very knowledgable and engaged while I attempted to explain my problem.

    Cuttica, Dr. Daniel J.
Dr. Cuttica immediately diagnosed the problem and took action to correct the problem for me. I had developed a ganglion cyst on the top of my foot which was causing pressure on the joint on the top of my foot. The doctor first tried to drain the cyst during the first visit. which was unsuccessful so the next step was to have surgery to remove it. The doctor was and the profession was professional and explained every phase. After the surgery the post op sandal I was given was causing pain and rubbing on the surgical area. I called the doctor and the office was able to get me back in the office the same day and switched the post op footwear to a walking cast which has worked wonders. I had the walking boot removed today and there the surgery area not much more than a scab. The doctor gave me some exercises to build up the strength of my foot after being in the boot. The doctor and the office was wonderful and would return again if needed.

OMG. I had to wait a little bit in the office; I am perfectly fine with that as long as it's a reasonable wait. I also had to wait two weeks to get an appointment, which again is not a problem, but some people want a provider to be available on demand.
Dr Haas has a wonderful personality but what is more important is that after snapping an xray, she found an old fracture that had been missed by another doctor on multiple occasions and the ER (altho it is POSSIBLE that it occurred after the ER, I strongly doubt it.
She gave me a quick cortisone shot, and showed me some other issues with my foot, and I will follow up in two weeks.
I am so impressed at her skill and knowledge and felt like I was truly in the best hands possible.,and will continue to be.
    I will post an update.

First pair of shoes, not so good. I am using a different provider for that this time around and we will see what happens. This time there will also be follow up with Dr. Pace to make sure the fit is correct.
