    I contacted F.H. Furr to replace my existing wired home smoke detector with a wired Nest smoke/carbon monoxide detector. Brandon arrived to do the installation. He was very professional and extremely knowledgeable about home automation. He installed two devices and set them up on my wi-fi network. Brandon showed me how to access the devices using the Nest on my cell phone. If you are interested in changing out old smoke detectors or adding carbon monoxide detection to your home, contact F.H. Furr during the special and get one unit for $129.

    It didn't go well... wasted $65; what was suggested is not what I wanted but what he stated he could do. He also wanted to put holes in the wall to run cables, when other vendors stated they could use the existing cable or cat6 to each out let. Also, I was told I would receive a conformation email and missed our first appointment. Later, I was told that was something they don't do, but when I asked why did the receptionist ask for my email; no one knew.

    This write-up is to give special Kudos to Percy, a Guardian technician. Percy is a superb technician. He is extremely knowledgeable and professional and perseveres to get the job done correctly. If you need a problem fixed with your Guardian alarm system, this is the tech to request in Northern Virginia. Guardian contacted us approximately four months after we had FIOS installed to tell us that our alarm system functions could not be detected at the home office. Four months we paid for zippo monitoring service. Although we have been a customer for many, many, years and have comprehensive coverage this issue fell outside our coverage becuase, unbeknownst to us, we needed to advise Guardian in advance of the FIOS installation. As on past occasions they sent out a technician who did not know how to resolve the issue, who had never heard of FIOS, was too lazy to even replace a low battery identified on the control panel, and still charged us for the visit!!! So we paid for four months of no service and the time and money to take off work and pay a tech to do "nothing." I advised the company to NEVER send that tech out to us again (this was his third visit to our home - 3 strikes and your out). Then, they sent us Percy. What a welcome and wonderful change. He is a great representative for the company and the type of employee that Guardian should aspire to hire. Excellent job Percy.

    The tech came right on time when promised.  The replacement system was completed in about 5 hours.  He provided complete instruction in all aspects of the operation.  He was very patient making sure I was completely aware and comfortable using the system before he departed.

    Chad, the technician, arrived within the specified window. He was courteous, meticulous and knowledgeable. Although the job took much longer than he anticipated, he communicated with me and was extremely helpful. My husband and I were doing some work of our own around the house, when our drill broke he graciously offered to lend us his. We have used Vintage Security on our previous home - our experiences with them have always been top-notch & extremely responsive.

    They are good. They are very��thorough.��We are able to remotely disarm and alarm our home if we forget when leaving. If any window or door is touch, we're notified via email. We also have a dog so you can set it to alarm-stay or alarm-away.

    My experience with Magnolia has been over the top with quality of services and product selection (very exclusive).  I reached out to Magnolia Design Center and spoke to Shaun.  He was very polite and professional, who took his time to understand my vision.   At no point, through the whole process, I felt pressured into something that was not my dream.  After talking to Shaun, I received a call (less then forty minutes) from the General Manger to setup a consultation.   This is the definition of true customer?s service, when the General Manager calls to setup a consultation to fit my busy schedule!  One week later, I had Shaun (System Designer), Sultan (General Manager), and Roger (Project Manager) at my house.  I explained, I wanted Music through the house, Movie Theater and Automation.   We walked the house and took notes on everything that matter to my family and me.  
    These guys are truly knowledge and kept the design of my house in mind.   The made the whole system perfect by keeping
    everything centralize and easy to control.   
     This was my first experience in a sales situation where I actively added products and services to my project. 
    The install team was superior, who came on time and treated everything with great respect.  
    Magnolia team did the following.
    • Home Audio: My family can play same or different music in zones. (If I can control it, anyone can!)
    • Movie Theater ? it?s better than going to movies
    • Automation: I had light switches and window treatment that are controlled with a smart device. 
    • Audio room: I love music so I got McIntosh with Bower and Wilkins speaker
    Needless to say, my whole family is amazed at the service provided.  I tell all my friend and family to stop wasting time and simply call them for the best deals

    After doing a lot of online research, we settled on FrontPoint for its 100% cellular service, wireless components, and ease of installation.  It was a good decision.  It really is easy to set up, and if you have any questions, their great customer support is just a phone call away.  We ordered several motion detectors, numerous door/window sensors, a glass break sensor, smoke, carbon monoxide, remote light switch, pretty much the whole enchilada.  The online controls and simple to use app also made it a no-brainer.  With FrontPoint, no need to worry about a cut phone or cable line, because it's all cellular.  When you start asking questions about that stuff from traditional alarm companies, you probably won't get a clear answer.
    The other high point to us is the range of options.  You can even set it up to text an alarm set up reminder to your smartphone if you and/or your significant other drive a certain distance from the home and forget to arm the system. 
    We're already recommending it to my friends and family.

    I recently switched my phone service from Verizon FIOS to Vonage in order to save alot of money.  I then found out that my existing security system ADT/Brinks won't operate with VOIP phone service nor did they have any alternatives for me.  Vintage Security had good ratings on Angie's List and Washington Checkbook and said that they could set up a system using a dedicated cell phone line.
    The representative arrived right on time and was very knowledgeable.  Pricing is good so I went ahead with the 5-year pricing option.  The installation went very well.  Work was done expertly and quickly.  It's taking us awhile to get used to punching more buttons than we were before, but well worth the switch so that I can have a good, reliable security system without having to pay Verizon an exorbitant price for phone service.  I like the fact that you can monitor the system on-line and have the flexibility to customize your notification settings.

    Estimate service was professional and thorough.  The estimate was received and it had everything on it that was to be performed.  The crew  came in and did all of the things that were supposed to be done.  One thing to be aware of as you go through the estimate process is that the crew uses that as thier instructions on what is supposed to be done, so be sure you know what you want and discuss it with Lew (Owner) before the crew shows up so that it ends up on the estimate.  I will hire them again for my next project with enthusiasm and I highly recommend them to all AL members.
