    Rent-A-Pro Handyman Services LLC
Rent-A-Pro was very responsive to my schedule, despite some tumult at their business. Miguel hung blinds, installed a shower head, fixed a toilet that was not flushing correctly and was leaking, and put together a Rubbermaid storage shed I had purchased. He was thorough in his work, and he was neat and left minimal, if any, mess. He went above and beyond in making sure my storage shed was leveled and anchored. I was very pleased with the quality of the work and the time in which it was done. The price was what i expected and less than other handy man services I have used. I will definitely hire Rent-A-Pro again.

    John Waugh Building Contractor
I am a garden designer and hired John to build a pergola at a client's historic home in Old Town, Alexandria, VA. He does a lot of work in Old Town, and had renovated the house next door and had done a beautiful job. Even though this was a small, one-off job for him, he fit me into his schedule. I provided him with photos of a pergola that I wanted to build, with handwritten notes of changes I wanted to make. We met on site, went over measurements together, etc., and he made several good suggestions. He started work a few days later, and the project took part of a day to complete. He used hardwood cedar, stainless steel fittings (so it should last!) and was meticulous in terms of attention to detail. The end result is beautiful, and my client absolutely raved about the end result; her exact quote: "I am over the moon! Love, love, love the pergola!" I highly recommend John. Would use him again.

    House To Home Solutions
The House to Home Solutions team brings vast experience and hold the highest standards in their work quality.  I was thoroughly impressed with the responsiveness from Daniel and Tony and the crews as they met all the construction timelines.  Their knowledge of the industry and the willingness to share this information to ensure that I was aware of all aspects of the work was top notch.  It was a significant undertaking and they made the process easy and were always there when we encountered any issues and they resolved them quickly.  They were always available which speaks to the character of this company.  They were able to handle all facets of the remodeling process from demo to construction (framing, electrical, plumbing, drywall, roofing, windows) to installation of finishes, floors, appliances, painting, molding, siding, gutters, pavers for a backyard stone patio, and a new concrete driveway.  Their competitive in their pricing and their end product speaks for itself.  I very much look forward to working with the House to Home Solutions team on future projects.

    Virginia Builder,LLc
BEWARE!! I should have read the lone review of this guy before hiring! This has been the worst hiring decision EVER!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and it all starts with the contract that he writes up. Filled with misspellings and grammar errors.
We hired this guy to renovate our garage and was told that this job would take 2-3 weeks at most.  We signed the contract on June 9th. Work started the following day and was progressing steadily then it didn't.  The owner had a foreman that was in charge of the job but it was a guy that he had to pick up and drop off. A few weeks into the job, I stopped seeing progress after coming home from work and tried numerous to call him with no answer (other review is spot on, the guy does not pick up your calls and only responds when texted). A month passes and I texted him to see where he was with no answer. He then responds a few days later to tell me he's on vacation (this is after a week of not hearing anything from him). It was around 2 weeks before anybody came back.
After he comes back, he then demands a payment up to 98% of the total budget while the job is not even 50% complete (this is on July 15th) . I expressed concern about the payment as I didn't feel that he had progressed that far to validate another payment. He then responds that it was needed for the purchase of siding material, floor paint, and labor.  He was already discussing exterior work when the interior drywall was not even 50% complete. He also mentions that the job would be complete by "next week" which would mean July 22nd.
July 23rd comes around and the interior drywall is still not 75% complete. This was due to him placing the window at the wrong spot which was in the way of the beam.  The window would eventually have to be moved a little bit to the right (more on this later).  As part of our deal, he was responsible for coordinating with the garage door installers. After everything, it ended up being me having to take time out of my day to coordinate with the garage door installers multiple times. There was a delay in ordering the door itself because he failed to make it clear to them the exact size to order. I had to call them to come back out and do a reinspection to approve the purchase order.
July 28th - He claims that he will try to get the garage finished over the weekend. This was impossible as there was still a lot to do. The drywall and plaster work was still not completed and exterior work still needed to be done as well.  A few days later, I come home to find that no work had been done and contacted him to get a reason why. He says that his brake line broke. After all the promises, not much was done over the weekend.  It was not until a full week that went by with absolutely no work done that I finally decided to contact him to see what his plans were. It wasn't until I got in contact with him that he informs me that he "will be there tomorrow". Tomorrow comes along and goes by without him showing up. I then ask him when is he coming, he then says Monday. Monday comes and go without anyone showing up. At this point, I am infuriated as I now have been lied to twice.  I try to contact him numerous times via texts and calls that Monday evening with no response. I don't get a response until the following morning with him telling me that he forgot his phone at the government center.  It got to a point where I had to threaten legal action if I did not hear back from him. The communication from him was a horrible experience. Don't expect to talk to this guy over the phone as he will ignore your calls and instead, text you back asking what you need.  In between all of this, he informs me that he had to fire his foreman because the foreman wasn't picking up his calls anymore. Sounds to me like the foreman quit on him rather than him getting fired. I don't blame the guy, this contractor is not easy to work with and very unprofessional.
August 10th - The garage door finally delivered and a date was scheduled for installation and part of the agreement was for him to be present during installation as someone is needed throughout the entire installation and we had to go to work.  I was not home yet when installation was finished and was contacted by the installer to inform me that it was finished and he needed someone to sign for the work.  This was due to him deciding to leave before work was completed so I had to rush home so I can sign for it.  He then comes back the next day to tell me that the garage door is not leveled which delayed the project another week as he claims he traded calls with the installers. This whole situation could have been avoided if he had done his job right the first time and stayed for the entire installation to express the problems as they are putting it up. It wasn't until 2 weeks later that the garage door was finally completed.
It was now time for the garage floor paint to be done. Showed him the color we wanted and he goes out and buys the correct color...except it was paint for porch and patio, not garage floors. He then decided to put in the base trim before painting the floor which caused a bunch of paint marks all over the base trim.
At this time, final drywalls were still being put up 2 months into the project. It was not until this point that I noticed that he placed the structural beam sitting against the window trim causing a gap between the beam and the drywall.  He failed to move the window far enough to the right to avoid the placement of the beam.  His attempt at fixing it failed miserably as there is still a gap and is still sitting against the window trim. He has in fact made it look worse than before and I now wished I hadn't even bothered asking him to fix it. He claims that he couldn't move the window any further to the right due to structural reasons and that the beam HAD to sit on the window trim which doesn't make any sense. After I told him that it looks worse than before, he responds by saying that it was my fault for wanting it fixed and to look a certain way. I didn't realize that as a paying customer, I shouldn't have any say if I think something was done incorrectly which he has done. In this case, it was obvious that he put the window trim up first and then the structural beam where he should have placed the beam before even cutting the opening for the window to avoid conflict.  At this point, I've started to worry that this guy really doesn't know what he's doing....
We are near completion and one of the last task to do is finish the electrical work. We have been told for 2 weeks on 4 different occasions that the electrician will be coming and to this day, they have not shown up.
It has gotten to the point where we no longer want him to continue work on our garage.  This is due to him requiring us to provide him a punch list before the project is fully complete which is not what his contract calls for. Being cooperative, we decided to give him a list of what we saw that still needed to be done. He demanded payment and promised that all the punch list items would be done. Not to our surprise, we came home and saw that only some of the punch list items were done with very poor workmanship. This has caused us to cut our losses and told him to stop work immediately and not to return to our property again. We do not want to pay him for poorly completed work.  He then responds calling us crooks for stealing from him and has threatened us numerous times.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND LOOK ELSEWHERE. AVOID THIS GUY AT ALL COST, PAY A LITTLE MORE IF YOU HAVE TO. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE!  EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL, VERY UNCOMMUNICATIVE, I DON'T KNOW HOW ELSE TO DESCRIBE THIS HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. GLAD THAT IT IS OVER BUT SAD THAT I GAVE THIS GUY MONEY.
I hope this review helps and steers you clear of this guy!!

    Affordable Sheds Inc
Outstanding experience. The property had an existing slab next to the patio where we hang out and grill, so I wanted something that looked nicer than one of those functional plastic sheds that are about half the price, but, are plastic. Affordable Sheds price was better than another estimate I got. Working with Doug was great, he answered all questions, didn't pull any "sign today and get a discount" baloney that so many companies that send out sales people to your home do (windows, gutter guards, etc.). Estimate was free and easy to schedule an appointment. Best of all, even though I was originally scheduled for an install date about 6 weeks out, another customer had a problem with their permits which left a one-day opening, so Doug called right away to see if we could be available that day, and he got our job on the schedule in two weeks! The carpenters were friendly, worked quickly, and put the whole thing up in about 4 hours.  I was able to save a couple hundred dollars by painting it myself, which was easy, and Doug told me exactly what kind of paint to get and what brand they used when they painted sheds. Great people and product!

    JW Home Improvement
Kenny and Ignatius are consummate professionals.  They have the experience to provide sound advice on how to properly repair items without wasting time or money.  We would welcome their return any time.  Jennifer made all of the scheduling a breeze even when juggling homeowner and worker schedules along with turbulent weather forecasts to keep all on track.  We will call JW again when home improvements are needed.

Doug Lewis is terrific.  Prior to site visit, excellent discussion of options.  During site visit, lots of great ideas, and very professional in discussing all details of project, from design to materials choices to installation to costs.  If you are considering an exterior shed of any type, we could not imagine going anywhere else.

From the initial site visit with Doug to the build of the shed, all went very smoothly.     Due to weather constraints the shed was rescheduled twice,  but Doug kept me informed of what was going on and wanted to make sure I got the shed built and was happy.    I'm very happy with the final product, very nice looking shed, you can tell a professional built it.     They even gave me two shelves, which was a bonus, thank you very much.
