Scott Donelson (President of Home Energy Medics) was very responsive and made sure all aspects of our multi-prong project were completed in a timely and high-quality manner. He was a delight to deal with!

Mohammed did a great job of showing me where we needed to make some improvements in insulation and reduced air flow in order to see some energy improvements. He gave us a detailed report explaining each item along with an itemized cost estimate. I had two other companies also provide estimates, so his was by far the best and competitively priced. We scheduled about 5 weeks out from signing the contract. His two man crew arrived right on time and began by putting plastic down everywhere from the front door to the attic access to reduce the dust and exposure to the rest of the house. There was quite a bit of work to do on the first day in the attic, so the work extended to the second day, which included insulating the rim and band joists in the basement. There were some issues with schedule and equipment but they got it done and I am happy with the result. I would absolutely hire Mohammed again to do this type of work. BTW - He also gave me a number of additional tips for things that I could do myself to further reduce airflow through the house. I've already started getting those done, as well. The whole process was a great education and I would do it again.

I purchased an Angie's List deal to install a home humidifier system in our house three years ago. The day the service was performed everything went well and I was happy. Recently, I had my furnace cleaned and serviced and the guy doing the work told me that the humidifier has a separate filter that would need to be replaced. I didn't have it and honestly I didn't know it was another thing I needed to do. He offered to come back and put it in once I'd purchased it. I did and he did. When he did, I was told he couldn't because there wasn't enough room for the tray to pull out before hitting my wall. I was a bit upset, afraid it was installed incorrectly, so I called and spoke directly to the owner, Jorge. He was very kind and offered to come out and take a look. He came out at the exact time he said he'd be at my house and went to take a look. While yes, the tray couldn't be fully opened, it turns out there was another way to replace the filter from the top. He was kind enough to show me exactly how to do it myself and replaced the filter for me. Seeing that I was having trouble seeing exactly what he was pointing at given how short I am, he offered to show my tall husband too. I called my husband down and he was kind enough to re-demonstrate everything again. All of this was for FREE. He was not frustrated or condescending to either of us. But very understanding and helpful. And we were both happy it turned out that everything was installed correctly and nothing major needed to be done. Honestly, I was not only really impressed with how nice and patient he was or his punctuality, but that he did all this even though the installation was THREE YEARS ago. I really appreciated his commitment to his service. I would hire again and highly recommend to anyone looking for the services he provides.

Wonderful work and experience working with this company. Fairest price and greatest value for the price. Other estimates involved cheaper materials. Very professional service as well. I would highly recommend this company and have referred them to neighbors. You don't need to price shop. These guys are very fair with price.

The audit was incredibly thorough. We have an old house and the upstairs rooms vary from really cold to really hot. Just based on preliminary findings, it's finally clear why this is happening. Prior to this audit, no one has ever provided a good explanation for the temperature differences. This was worth the money spent. Our technician was very professional and explained what he was doing throughout the day.

Great!! These guys aren't cheap...but you get what you pay for. The head of the company came over later at night to work around our schedule before we signed a contract for the work and when he saw an issue he could fix easily for us, he asked us to borrow a screw driver and went to work and removed an old broken fan blocking our ducts.....before we have given him a penny or signed a contract. That alone was impressive and indicative of their dedication to fixing problems. They explained everything and checked frequently and then rechecked the changed air flow in the house after all the work was done. We recommended to many neighbors and all were happy as well.

From the start, the communication from Vicki, their customer service rep, was excellent. Mody, the auditor, was extremely thorough and personable (he was at our home for several hours), as well as being a great teacher. He showed us unexpected places and ways that our house was leaking energy (for example, the strike plate on one of the bedroom doorways was the source of a mini-cyclone once the house was depressurized), as well as educating us on various remedies and causes for moisture issues, etc. He even took a look at our dryer vent! We were very pleased and impressed with the value the audit has provided thus far. We are awaiting the final audit report (which can take a couple of weeks to generate), which will have full details of what could be done (and costs) to improve our energy consumption. Even without that report, I highly recommend having the audit done. I think it is very useful and educational for any homeowner, well worth the money and time spent.

They showed up on time. Other than the owner, everyone was pleasant to work with. They were thorough and clean. The problem I had with the owner was his push to make my home as energy efficient as possible. His passion blinded him to honoring what I wanted and was willing to pay. Were it not for my 11 years working in the energy industry, Bachelors in engineering, and strong personality that can push back against bullies, he would have rolled over me and the work would have cost me $12,000 more. I spent weeks researching and calculating what was the best decision for me to make. Yes, my home would have been more energy efficient if I'd done what the owner wanted, but I decided I not in a financial position to do that at that time. Thank goodness LEAP and the project manager were there for me to work with when I needed. They were both superb.

    Comfort Solutions
From the initial contact with Rich Jones the President of Comfort Solutions through to sign off on completion, can only be described as exemplary. From establishing customer needs and advising on options in the first instance through to getting the right balance between capital cost and ongoing energy savings, before choices were made, was absolutely spot on.
Nothing was left to chance prior to installation either, as we had two surveying visits in order to establish in great detail all that would be required on the day, for prefabricated fittings and other parts as well as a detailed electronic record of measurements and supporting photographs for the install team to refer to as necessary - communication is everything and that was very evident between their team members as well as with us, the customer, every step of the way.
On the appointed day, starting at 7:30am we had three technicians working as a team removing the old equipment and installing the new, this was done with a minimum of disruption to us in a clean and tidy manner and we were left with a fully tested and functioning system, following a talk through with the controls, at 7:30pm in the evening.
It has been a pleasure to deal with Comfort Solutions and in addition to the contact we have had with Rich, Candice and Bill in the office we have met with five other members of the team and without exception they are all a credit to the company and It?s abundantly clear that they take ?ownership? as well as a personal pride in their work.

    America's Best Energy Team
Dealing with ABET was very disappointing.  First, they subcontracted the job out to another firm, which was not very responsive in setting up appointments---or letting me know when they had decided to cancel an appointment.  I lost a couple days of work sitting around the house waiting for workmen who never showed - and ABET and the subcontractor refused to do anything to compensate me for the wages I lost while waiting.
Part of the problem was that part of the service that ABET had sold me (a full house fan cover) was not offered by the subcontractor.  The subcontractor eventually claimed this was the reason for delaying work on the job.
When the subcontractor's workmen did show up the first time, they claimed they finished the attic in half the time ( 2 hours vice the estimated 4) because they worked quickly.  They also could not do some areas in my basement that were included in the estimate price.  When I checked under the blown insulation myself, I could only find a few instances where they had actually put in the sealant.
When I called ABET to discuss issue of the whole house fan cover, the inability to complete the job in the basement and the limited job in the attic, ABET did arrange to send the subcontractor back out.  The new workmen acknowledged his colleague had only partially done the job in the attic and said he probably figured I would not check to see if the job actually had been done.
While the I did eventually get the attic sealed, I did not get a complete job done in the basement nor did I get a sturdy whole house fan cover (I received a flimsy insulating pad with sticky magnet strips attached because they said they did not carry the manufactured products to seal it from above).  In a conversation with ABET to arrange the second visit, we discussed lowering the price because all the work they calculated in the estimate was not done.  However, after the job was finished, ABET did not respond to my attempts to communicate and charged my card on file for the full estimate.
I would never use ABET again.
