Auto Body Repair reviews in Alexandria

  • The damage was covered by my insurance, and Route 1 worked with the insurer’s estimate I provided to complete all work using the budget given in the time I required. I had additional body work done, unrelated to the insurance claim and was pleased with the repair. Don’t let the shop location turn you off. I intend to use Route 1 again.

  • I only go to Best Auto Body repair because they are true to their name. The four repairs they have done to date have not only been perfect in detail but also completed on time. For example, the most recent repair was done in less than the three days estimated by the insurance company despite the one day business closure due to bad weather conditions. The owner David has always been very willing to discuss details of the work as well as insurance provisions. Manager Bryon has been terrific in his very customer-friendly attitude to provide me with options on the repairs as well as to point out small, barely-noticeable repairs resulting from accidents. This is one small business which goes the extra mile for the customer!!! I WILL CONTINUE TO RECOMMEND THEM TO MY FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS.

  • excellant! My back passenger door I scraped and put in a mild dent while trying to park in a tight parking spot (the cement pillar won, my car lost !) . These folks gave a quote the was lower than any others and they were able to take me in within a few days. They repaired the door in 2 days, there is now no sign of any damage, also .... I think they may have taken out a door dings on the front door, since that whole side looks like it came out of the show room! PLUS, they are very nice!

  • They did a great job repairing and repainting my car's rear bumper. I was very pleased with the work and the professionalism of the staff I worked with. The car was ready ahead of when they had told me it would be. I note that the General Information listed here on the Angie's site at the time I was looking said they did not do free estimates. I called the shop and asked about that, and they said they did, and I went over and did indeed receive a free estimate. So check on that when you call, to see if free estimates are currently offered. The final price they presented after the work was done was agreeable with the estimated price, and they honored the Angie's list discount coupon, although I didn't present that until I went to pick up the car. The shop is also very convenient to the Huntington Metro station, which was very helpful, as I needed to ride the bus back home and then back over there when I dropped off and picked up the car.

  • I didn't go with them because of price comparison. My son dented the car and we weren't going to use insurance so I went through a different provider. We just did comparison shopping. I had never been to them before and I liked the estimator and I felt like he gave me an honest estimate. We just chose not to use them.

  • I hit a deer with my Tundra and wanted to explore options to the insurance-approved shop for repairs. WT Auto Body had good ratings for quality so took my truck there for an estimate. I was showing a young man the damage to the driver’s side fender, the grill, and the hood and he pointed to where the Toyota emblem was missing from the grill and said “Was that a result of the accident?” I said yes. He pointed to a microscopic chip near the logo and said “That doesn’t look consistent with a deer hit.” I didn’t get his point and said, “Well, it was there before the accident.” He responded, “It’s just that it doesn’t look consistent with a deer hit.” I asked if he was calling me a liar. He said, “I didn’t call you a liar, I was just pointing out that it doesn’t look consistent with hitting a deer.” Meanwhile there is deer hair trapped in the headlight and grill. I said if he was doubting how this happened I’d be glad to take my business somewhere else and he replied “Fine. I didn’t want your business anyway” (spoken in the tone of a 2-year-old). I was happy to move on to two other shops. Please note: when the insurance representative looked at my truck he didn’t question the disappearance of the emblem. Neither did the other two estimators (according to the estimates it is a $27 part). I would have welcomed the opportunity to find out for myself if the good ratings were justified and can only hope that an elder at the shop sees this review and instructs this young man the proper way to deal with customers.

  • James did not come to complete the repair, but instead, sent a young man "he personally trained" (Eddie) to do the repair. Eddie DOES NOT know how to do these repairs! He oversprayed 2/3 of the bumper (original rock damage was just over an inch long) and caused "fish eyes" all over the bumper. (See pictures below) James was supposed to come to my house to repair the damage several days later. That morning, however, he was late, tried to blame me for the damage (because I wash my car), and ultimately told me he didn't have the equipment/materials to do the repair that day. He agreed to call me to schedule. You guessed it - he never called! I ultimately went to a paint and body shop that had to pull the bumper off the car to complete the repair. Total cost $2225.10. After 2 months of trying to collect the money, I got a judgment against James in Fairfax County Court on August 18th Some additional things to know: - His LLC does not exist - he hasn't paid his required state fees since 2010 - he has no insurance - He no longer lives in Virginia (he's in South Carolina) - At least one other person has had this exact same experience this year (read his review on Angie's List). If this has happened to you and you plan to sue James, please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to testify

  • Huntington Auto Body is fantastic. They negotiated with my insurance company to ensure that the entire front panel was replaced, not just repaired. They went the extra mile to make sure that my car looked just like new.

  • Champion Body Works did a great job! The work was seamless, on time, and on budget. Overall, very happy with the work. Champion was great about walking me through the initial estimate, keeping me updated on progress (managing expectations), and showing me what work was done. They took time to explain everything in a professional and friendly manner. They were also great about helping me coordinate car rental pick up/ drop off. Process could not have been easier.

  • Mr. Lee and his team gave excellent service at a competitive, fair and reasonable price. That's how we like to do business! We highly recommend Huntington Auto Body and will return if needed in the future. Good luck to HAB. We wish more businesses operated this way! Not free service, but service provided with a fair price coupled with excellent attention.
