Appliance Repair reviews in Alexandria

  • The service technician from Top Notch Appliance Service (John), could not have been more professional or courteous. When he initially arrived, he had reviewed all the existing technical bulletins for our model range and had Viking’s technical support ready to assist. There was in fact an existing bulletin that called for a re-alignment of the striker system, which would have been problematic for a technician not certified by Viking. In any event, on his third and final system check he found a DSI board failure and immediately ordered a new board. When he returned to install the new board, he spent the time necessary to re-check the repair and found two additional adjustments required. We have been using the oven for a month now with no issues or problems whatsoever. I did not rate the pricing as it was covered by the warranty but I did see the bill and it seemed very fair to me.

  • HWA did a horrible job communicating; not only did they tell us the part was covered, then changed their message to reneg on that commitment, they continued to tell us we would receive a call from management, and never did. My husband and I have literally had to make dozens of phone calls to get the service done, and it still hasn't been done yet!

  • I had AHS for 5 years and they responded to several home issues but it was always unsatisfying and frustrating. Finally, after they would not fix my outside water tap making excuses like frost, etc I cancelled the service.

  • This company is a gem. I don't call anyone else again (Sears, GE, Bray & Scarf are a waste of time). Tina, the dispatcher, is smart and efficient. I always get the appointment I need, sometimes the same day. They even do weekends! Almost always, Ali has the parts on his truck, and if they don't he gets quick turnaround parts for the return visit. So 90% of the time, repair us complete at the first call. Plus Ali is brilliant--he can fix all brands and any problem--he's so clever. He's courteous and prompt and takes great care in our home. Now we're using DMV for our daughter's home as well.

  • I scheduled an appointment with this company for today, 8/23/18, between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. I was advised that I would receive a call 30 minutes before arriving. At 2:45 p.m., with no technician and no phone call, I called the customer service and advised them of them not showing for appointment. The lady first said she would call me at 1:30 p.m. and I had to advise her 4 times that it was already past 1:30 and that no one showed up. Finally realizing the time, she changed her blame game and said I did not answer their call. I have my phone log, never received a call, no technician showed up and the reason I called them to find out what happened. Other reviews said they had problems but I'm always willing to give people a chance...they failed miserably. Do not use this company in DC.

  • Wendell Scot was the first to call me and got the repair job. I will definitely use Arcnet again. He was everything you'd want in a good service repairman. He correctly diagnosed the reason for the leak, ordered the part and installed it the next day. $200 including the replacement part. I'm never using anyone else, he is that good. And no, I am not related to him and I haven't been paid for this review. Hire him and you'll see what I mean.

  • Asif was amazing! professional, competent, thorough. He accurately diagnosed the problem and ordered the needed part, then installed it and saved me needing to buy a whole new washing machine. While he as at it, he looked at another faulty appliance I had been told was no longer usable and pointed out an easy fix so that it was working in no time. His price was very reasonable and I would definitely use him again. Highly recommended!

  • I was very impressed with DMV Appliance Repair. Instead of having to replace a non functioning garbage disposal and clothes dryer, the technician was able to diagnose and repair both to working condition. They were very prompt and reliable. I have used them in the past and will use them again.

  • Warehouse sent the wrong part initially - not All American's fault. They had to figure out the correct part number and order again. Called me for another appointment and came and replaced the gasket. I've used the washer without a problem.

  • We called DMV Appliance Repair on July 5 and scheduled a technician to come to our house on July 7. Over the phone, we explained that we had a Samsung Dryer displaying error code BE2, which we had researched as sticky keys that needed likely a new circuit board. The technician arrived on July 7, merely wrote down our Model No/Serial No and the error code, and said he'd get back to us on Monday with an estimate after ordering the parts. He charged us $49 but said the money would be applied to our repair, so not to worry about the charge. Monday came and went with no call, so I followed up with a call and the woman on the phone explained that they could not find the part locally so they'd have to order it. She'd call me with an estimate as soon as she located the part. Tuesday came and went and no call. Finally, I called again on Wednesday and the woman said they couldn't find the part as it had been discontinued, but apparently couldn't be bothered to call me to let me know. When I then inquired to have the $49 refunded (since it wouldn't be applied to fixing our dryer), she got defensive and basically told me to pound sand. That same day, I left a negative review on Angie's list. Later, someone from the company called me. This time, they claimed to have found the part and asked me if they could order it. They told me the job would cost me $200 total. Hesitantly, I said, "Yes." On July 16, I got a call from a tech at 10am asking me if he could come to my house now to install the part. I explained I was at work but that he could stop by that evening after 6:30pm. At 6:30pm, a tech showed up. He told me that he could not start the job until I agreed to remove my negative review. I explained that if he completed the job correctly, that I'd update my review to reflect their job. He got defensive. He then started saying he had been fired from the company due to my review. I then stopped him and asked why he was at my house offering to conduct a job if he had been fired by the company. He then clarified that he'd been fired, but that he'd get hired again if I agreed to remove my review. Then, he said, "But I can't do the job for less than $270." I then stopped him and explained that over the phone I had agreed to an estimate of $200. He then began questioning me as to who had given me that estimate, and then refused to do the job, leaving my house. Needless to say, I was in disbelief. We are now seeking a charge back given that the $49 was falsely advertised as a deposit towards our repair. Be warned. Go with another company. They are not good with communication, do not go out of their way to find parts, and they'll charge you for something that they could have done over the phone. Also, they are not faithful to their estimates and will lie in order to either not do the job, or get a review changed. Honestly, this service borders on fraud.
