    Windows on Washington
Great job to the folks at WOW. Zach came in and was extremely friendly and helpful. He knew everything there was about the options available. (Sliding glass versus hinged, color options, levels of doors, etc). The installers (Young?)- I know I spelled that wrong.. they were exceptional and very friendly. They came in that afternoon and were gone in a day. If I have any other projects I will be using the company. Well done!

Michael Nash Design Build & Homes
I've always wanted to have my own home theater and it took me years to just dream about it. Starting this big Basement Remodeling Aldie VA project feels pretty scary, however their team at Michael Nash Design, Build, & Homes guided me along the way. After 8 weeks, I can now finally enjoy watching movies with my family in a high-quality setting!

    Craftmasters Services Inc

Overall the service went well.  The only issue was we had some patching that was done by the old owner in the study that was not brought to attention.  They painted over it which does not look as nice as I would have hoped had it been sanded first.

I rated a "C" on responsiveness as I asked the crew for a price to paint the main floor and never received a call back or a quote from the main office.  However to set the appointment for the this service request they were very prompt.

    The Home Doctor
It did not go well and due to poor customer service, I decided to cancel the order completely. The problem centered around one individual's lack of respect for me as a customer. Phillip seemed to be the main point of contact at The Home Doctor. Phillip was pleasant during the initial phone call however this was not to occur during our second call and beyond. He assumed that I was aware of the process involved when installing a sliding glass door (I.e. Timeline, delivery, the install, etc.). I had questions and Phillip had little patience. All came "to a head" during our conversation had after a young man came to my home to measure on a Saturday morning. I called Phillip the following Thursday to seek an estimate for a transient window replacement. Phillip began to escalate his voice, in a frustrated tone he proceeded to inform me that he had already explained the process of the sliding glass install and he questioned why I was calling again. When I explained that I called for an estimate, he told me that I should have stated the purpose of the call up front. At this point, I was angry and done. Phillip's demeanor, tone and disrespect was appalling. He suggested that I request a refund and that is exactly what I did. I can not speak to The Home Doctor's capability in delivering and installing the product however I would not recommend them due to poor customer service which is equally important. I do not and will never tolerate anyone speaking to me with such disrespect...period!!!

    Codellas Remodeling
I've used this company on two occasions and they've always gone above and beyond. They warranty their work and nothing has ever gone wrong. On both jobs work was done as per schedule and clean up was done to perfection. Workers were professional and courteous.

Bob was a little late but did notify me that traffic was heavy and told me what time he would arrive.  Walked through the project with me and said it would be no problem.  It wasn't.  He repaired both doors in about an hour and cleaned up behind himself.  It went well.  I would use him again.

    REO-SERVICEPRO, INC
Living in a large Metro area I had several choices in handyman providers and I think I made the right pick for the job, REO-ServicePro wasnt the cheapest or most expensive company to bid on the job but when Gary came out to look over what we needed done he was very polite and knowledgeable on how to do it. He was able to answer all of my questions and was willing to offer solutions on a few items that I could do myself (skill level). Drew (The Handyman) was the main guy doing the work and talk about a real joy to work with, he was very polite, prompt and you could tell he was an expert in what he did. The list of jobs were completed within three appointments and the final product looks great. I would recommend Gary and his crew without hesitation and plan to use him on several more projects as they come up.

    JW Home Improvement
The two-man crew were very pleasant and I felt comfortable with them right away.  They understood quickly what the issues were.  For the TV, they recommended installing the wires within the wall which I did not think they could do in the time allotted. However, they were able to complete quickly and it looks great!.  The door handle not closing and locking properly was a nuisance and they were able to fix that quickly as well.

    Walker and Clarke Builders Inc
I was looking to add some decorative trim to our windows, and based on the other reviews here, I contacted Walker & Clarke (among others) for an estimate.  Donnie Walker answered the phone right away and we made arrangements for him to visit that same Saturday.  He told me upfront that he charges a consultation fee.  I agreed, and we met at the specified time and date.  Of all the contractors I spoke to, he was the only one who showed up with the actual carpenter who would be personally performing the work, and he brought trim samples and a catalog of other options.  He spent about an hour with us going through all the options, and even had his carpenter (Mike) assemble a samplepiece of trim on the spot so we could visualize the final product.  Every other contractor simply said they could do whatever we wanted, but Donnie was the only one who actually spent the time to show it to us and not leave anything up to interpretation.  He provided a price estimate before leaving, and got back to me two days later (that Monday) with firm pricing for his materials.  While the materials ended up being more than the original estimate, we decided to move forward anyway.
They started the job on Thursday, and were finished by end of day Monday.  The windows came out exactly as I had hoped- actually, even better than that.  I was very, very impressed.  They kept the work areas clean, took care of my hardwood floors, and thoroughly cleaned up my garage after they were done.  All throughout the project, Donnie kept in touch with me and checked in to see how things were going.  Even though the whole thing only took a few days, he stopped by the house at least 3 separate times to check on the progress.
In the past year, having renovated and sold a house and bought a new one, I've used a large number of contractors for different services.  The general rule of thumb seems to be that you can't get a hold of anybody when you need to talk to them.  It's very rare and refreshing when you deal with someone who actually takes customer service seriously and answers your calls, texts and emails right away.  While the price for the work was not the lowest of the estimates I received, I feel that the level of service I received from Walker & Clarke justified the difference.  I'll gladly pay more for a professional who takes their work seriously and actually understands that a happy customer means repeat business.  I would happily recommend Walker & Clarke and will certainly use their services again.

    American Screen & Glass, Inc.
We discovered one of our front door sidelite window panels shattered this week after hearing a strange 'pop' sound.  Fortunately it was the interior panel of the double pane window, which cracked but stayed intact.  We used Angie's list to locate a repair contact and called on Wednesday afternoon, and accepted an appointment for Friday 11-2 for a measurement and estimate.  On Friday, Shawn, arrived right on time.  Although, not a talkative guy, he did offer some possible explanations of why the glass "just popped & shattered" --once we asked.  Shawn provided an excellent explanation of how they would fix the sidelite, and the timeline should it not be in stock (but he thought it probably was readily available).  He also provided a verbal estimate, including the Angie's "coupon" discount.  We provided our email address for him to send us the written estimate, although we didn't receive that email.
Later on Friday, we received a voice message from their office, stating the sidelite was in stock and they could install the next day, Saturday.  The office person, Debbie,  was very pleasant and set up the install sometime between 11 and 1.
Saturday, the two installers arrived well before 11, and as Shawn had stated, it was only about a 15 minute task.  The installers were very polite, and thoroughly cleaned not only the new sidelite glass, but the flooring and surrounding area.  The estimate did not include the sales tax, but otherwise the invoice matched the estimate and included the discount.
After they left, we both agreed that this was one of the least stressful home repairs we have experienced in 34 years!  Thank you!
