    Blackwell, Dr. Kellie
Dr. Blackwell was very helpful. I have several medical issues that require close monitoring. She is always willing to answer my questions, and will discuss appropriate intervention options, including life style changes and medical interventions. Dr. Blackwell appears to really care about my health problems.

    Handy, Dr. William M .
He had recommended for my mother to receive home health therapy services and she had requested a certain physical therapist she is familiar with and likes. Her appointment was on Aug. 12th, I contacted his office on Aug. 14th with the name and number of the home health agency she wanted to use for therapy services. Spoke with the office manager and he had not written any orders currently for the therapy. Office manager stated she saw where he had written the diagnosis but no order, and would have him write the order and contact her preferred home health company. The following week on August 16, no therapist had called. I recontacted Dr. Handy's office, going through his automated menu and talking to several people until getting to speak with the person that ordered home health. I do have to say on the phone the office staff is very nice. Once again she checked the computer , the order had not been completed and she would take care of it. I again requested a certain home health company and the name of the therapist. A few days later my mother had let me know that the someone from, and quot;the officeand quot; had called and they were recommending a different home health company and quot;they have some different equipmentand quot; and some gentlemen she didn't know was seeing her. Having a little knowledge of therapy and after asking what the therapist did that was different -Nothing!!!
This was only a line he had given her - I may be mistaken, but I believe it is illegal and YOU DO GET TO CHOOSE YOUR PROVIDER! Please other patients, remember this!.
Additionally, we have had an issue with getting medicines refilled, he says he will call and get a medicine refilled, and then when you go to pick it up, it's not called in, so the cycle starts again.
As I mentioned, he and his staff are very kind to their patients, and we are not switching physicians, but remember to be proactive and stay in contact with this office if you decide to use him - VERY BUSY!

    Abingdon Family Healthcare
I have been visiting this office for at least 6 years. I have always been able to schedule appointments promptly and have been satisfied with the care I have received from their staff. I typically see Sharon Gilbert FNP but have had to see other doctors when she was not available. My biggest complaint with this practice is the long waiting times. Even when the office does not seem busy the wait times are long.

    Highlands Pediatrics
I have taken both my children to Highlands Pediatrics for the last 14 years and have not had a negative experience. Thankfully, we've only have to visit for wellness checkups and minor issues but have always been satisfied with the care received at their office. Dr. Myers is the physician we use and is always compassionate and easy to talk to about any issues. I would recommend Highlands Pediatrics.

They are very nice. There is a very short wait time, and they get you in and out. I see Brenda Jessee who is a nurse practitioner and I have seen her for years. She is always willing to sit down and take as much time as you need, and gives you full explanation. I have always had really good experience with her.

    Carnell, Dr. Alan G.
I had an initial visit with Dr. Josh Hall who explained the procedures he was performing and the reasons. His office ran like a well-oiled machine during all visits. Half of the building is for appointments and consultations; the other half for procedures. I was given both oral and written instructions for preparing for the tests, the phone number of his scheduler in the event I had to make a change, and the phone number of his p.a. if I had further questions.
On procedure day I arrived at the assigned time and was whisked back immediately for preparation for both procedures. I only waited about 10 minutes until the nurse-anesthesiologist came and knocked me out. I woke up and it was all over and I felt great. I had a mandatory wait of about an hour for recovery, then went home, driven of course by my husband. I was given further oral and written instructions and saw Dr. Hall a week later when he told me all was clear except for a large hiatal hernia. He recommended iron tablets for the blood loss. He is a soft-spoken, humorous man who almost makes you forget the reason you're seeing him, and vice versa. He recommended hemorrhoid surgery, which I have yet to schedule, but I'll definitely return to him when I'm ready to expose my bottom to the world again.

    Abingdon OB/GYN
The front office staff were very nice and friendly. The office was very busy but I didn't have to wait to long to be called back to the examination room. The nurse was great. I was put in examination room where I waited, the nurse came in to apologize that it was taking so long and then shortly after that the Nurse Practitioner, Paula Wright, came in. She was very friendly, asking questions about my health. The exam went well, She ordered test that I needed. She took the time to answer any questions that I had. Overall experience was wonderful.

I have been going here for at least the last 18 years, Dr. Lavigne delivered my two children and he was wonderful through the whole delivery. Very caring and took the time to answer any questions I had.

    I would highly recommend them.

I LOVE Dr. Leight. She is always attentive and caring. She listens to what I have to say and then godes me to share more so that she can treat my condition as comprehensively as possible. She also helped me through a difficult pregnancy with compassion. I have always felt safe with her decisions and choices for my care.

    Blackwell, Dr. Kellie
During this visit I was supposed to receive feedback on my lab results as well as the results for an at-home oxygen level test that was done. Unfortunately for some reason the appointment did not go well. Dr. Blackwell did not review any of my blood-work results with me, despite the fact that I had received a call from their office one week after I gave blood for the test to tell me that my liver enzymes were elevated and that they would like to discuss it with me at my next appointment.
Prior to the start of the appointment, the receptionist had me note on a sheet what I wanted to discuss with the doctor. I indicated that I would like to talk about my test results and a potential UTI. Once we were in the room Dr. Blackwell mentioned the positive results for my UTi screening and then mentioned that she had not seen the results of my oxygen level testing. She explained that they had a contract with this home medical company to handle the entire process and she didn't normally review the test results. I found this unusual and disheartening, I believe since she was my medical provider, not the home medical service that rented the test device, that she would be interested in knowing the results of the test and discussing the steps for treatment.
Since that whole exchange didn't go so well, I forgot to ask about the liver enzyme re-testing during the appointment and she never discussed any of the other blood-work results. The next day after I got my head together I called Dr. Blackwell's office back to ask about the liver enzyme test results and to tell them that my insurance required a letter of medical necessity to pay for the oxygen therapy they were recommending. Dr. Blackwell's nurse took my information and said that she would speak with her; it's now been almost a month and I have not had any follow-up from their office, even after leaving another message two weeks ago.
