  • Contact was over-zealous to receive work and talked over me while I was trying to explain what I needed. We book a free estimate appt and then they just didn't show up. No communication, no reason, no apology, nothing. They just no-showed. For someone who was so excited to have work after being out with health issues, why wouldn't they show up?

  • We chose this company because of high ratings on Angie's List and because of an Angie's List discount. However, change of staff and mix-ups at main office slowed things down for a few weeks and resulted in confusion as to how much it would cost. Everyone very polite and trying to be helpful, but not clear who was in charge. They are a huge company and have contracts with a specific paint supplier, so when I requested a different brand (recommended by Consumer Reports), it caused even more confusion. They told us that we would have to buy the paint, ourselves, which we did, but they never gave us a new quote minus their price for paint until after the job was done. In fairness, they gave us a deeper discount than their cost (they "split the difference"), but it was concerning until we settled. As far as the work itself was concerned, I expected a much more thorough prep. The painters they contracted seemed to think that power washing and a little scraping would be sufficient, but there was still lots of old loose paint that they didn't get until we pointed it out. Even after that, they missed a lot and had to go back and repaint one rough area. I had read a lot about outside temperatures and how paint dries too fast on particularly hot days. The company and painters said they never heard that, but agreed to avoid the hottest parts of the day on most days. One had a another job, so scheduling was particularly difficult, and they agreed to work on weekends, as well, although there were times when it was clearly too hot. There was also some question about how much the the paint that we bought required thinning to be sprayed on, and, while it was of the highest quality, it will be interesting to see how it fares over time. Next time, I would go with a small, local company and be clear about the type of prep that would be carried out as well as the brand of paint that would be used. That said, we are delighted with the overall appearance and hope for the best as to its longevity.

  • I don't trust that the estimate was arrived at legitimately. I was provided a 2-line estimate for $1390 (after a "discount" of $208) to perform this work despite the fact they they had an offer on Angie's List of $550 for 16 hours of labor. I didn't think there was any way that the little work I was having done was going to total 16 hours and asked about that. They told me that there was a "ton of prep" without defining what that meant. Fivestar also had an offer for $1399 for 40 hours of labor on Angie's List, which meant they were claiming my job was going to take 40 hours of work!! This despite the fact that materials were listed as only $59 (i.e. 2 gallons of paint). When I pointed all this out and asked for a detailed breakdown of what the labor hours were going to go toward, Chris, the estimator, stopped responding to my emails. This was unprofessional and, I feel, somewhat dishonest.

  • Wow, I can't say enough good about Mike. He is an artist, a perfectionist, and an honest professional. He is making an honest living, and as a one-man-show, he passes the savings on to his customers. He definitely knows his craft. He understands siding inside and out. He's confident and competent and humble.
He came to give me a bid the day after we talked, and he was on time. He gave me the lowest bid I had gotten, all while instilling total confidence in his abilities without salesman-like showmanship. He squeezed my relatively small job in between some bigger jobs so that I didn't have to wait as long.
He was finishing the siding on a garage addition that my husband and I started, but we had lost momentum on.
When I ran out of siding because I misjudged originally, he promptly came and finished once the new siding was in. He also offered to patch some old siding that I thought couldn't be patched. I accepted, paid a little extra, and was amazed that he was able to make it look like it had always been perfect. I wouldn't have attempted it myself. I was impressed with every aspect of my interaction with Mike.

  • When I called Jim he went to the customers house, called me back and gave me the cost. He went and got the job done. I called our customer and he said that Jim had done an EXCELLENT job, so Jim Larsen Siding will be the company that we call for ourselves and anyone who asks if we know of a good siding guy.

  • Dell Grimshaw removed the damaged garage door trim,  bent and install new trim.
This was a small job, that the bigger siding contractors did not want to do.   Small repairs are his specialty

  • The paint job didn't work out that well the first time, but they did get it fixed and they got it done fast. They kept doing it until I was satisfied. So, that impressed me. The person I got the quote from hired some subcontractors, who did not do a good job. They missed a lot. When I called Certa Pro Painters about it, the person I got the quote from came out himself to fix the work.

  • Troy, was on time and got right to work.
I was the chatty one !

  • This was a great experience. Mark and his painting crew were punctual, efficient, clean, and very polite. The paint job looks fantastic - no drips or drops anywhere, crisp edges, nice detail around doors and window frames. I was at home most of the days, and the crew was professional and fast. They introduced themselves to me in the morning and checked in when they were leaving.  They were careful around all the plants, they cleaned up every day. We couldn't be happier with the service and the quality of the job. For a mid-range price, we got a top-end result!

  • Mike did a great job. He replaced the existing old aluminum soffit, fascia covering and frieze board covering on a building I own after it was reroofed (by another company). Work also incorporated some trimming of the existing (non-structural) wood to accomodate the aluminum and improve appearance, where needed. Quality of work is first rate and beautiful. He had no problem with rescheduling his work to accomodate other work that needed to be done before the soffit and fascia could be completed. That flexibility was greatly appreciated by me. His pricing was more than fair. And as I said, the aluminum looks great.
