    Dave Passey Plumbing & Heating
Dave has been helping us for years. From minor faucet issues to replacing water heaters to when we remodeled our kitchen in our new home. Dave has been there and has gotten it right the first time. His men are clean cut. They look trustworthy. They also clean up after themselves quite well. Something most others contractors dont do. Nice work Dave!

    Flat Rate Water Softeners
Matt was very thorough with the systems and he helped me understand the whole process involved. He is not just another salesman trying to sell you stuffs, he understands your need and recommends the best and cost effective solution with clear cut reasoning which is what we expect from any vendor. The quality of products installed was very good and the water taste is very good now, we used to grab a lot of water cans from Costco every week, now this investment is a direct saving and my family loves it. Within a couple of hours time, he completed the whole installation, the very next day. I would definitely recommend Matt for any of his services around water softeners and services.

    Towers Plumbing
Treavor Mitchell was excellent. He was here at the appointed time and was very courteous and professional. The water heater is in the basement and he was careful when removing and replacing the water heater so as not to ding my walls especially going up and down the stairs. I am very pleased with his work and will definitely ask for him if I need any other plumbing needs.

    Humphrey Plumbing Heating and Air
Excellent work was done. They replaced all 4 toilets, made it very convenient for us and offered some guidance on other plumbing questions I had while they were there. If I end up doing additional work, they will be my first call.

    Scott Pryor Handyman Services
I hired Scott on August 17, 2018 to do some minor electrical, plumbing and some sheet rock repair in preparation for some kitchen cabinets being installed. I made it clear that the time to complete the project was very important because the cabinets had already been purchased and were waiting at Lowes for installation. He assured me that he could complete the job in just a few days and asked for a deposit of $300.00 to start. I wrote the check and asked him to start asap. (the check was cashed that same afternoon). He said he would like to get an early start, and we agreed that he would be at my house the next morning at 8:00am (the whole household had to get up early to accommodate this schedule) He never showed up until about 9:15 am. He said he had to take his daughter to work. He only worked until 10:15 am and then had to leave for the day. He said that he could not return until Tuesday morning because he had prior commitments. I texted him Monday night just to make sure he would be there on Tuesday. He indicated that he would be there at 8:30 am. He showed up at 9:15 am and worked for about 45 mins and left. He told me that he had to take one of his children to the Instacare. And then he had to go to Park City for something and asked if he could stop by on his way back around 9pm, just to go over what I wanted. (I had already giving him plans for the whole job). At 9pm he texted me and said something came up in Park City and he was just leaving. He still had to pick up his wife in Salt Lake City and then he would be at my house. That was at least 1 hours of travel time. I told him it would be too late. He promised he would have the whole day Wednesday and would be at my house by 10am. He texted me on Wednesday at noon and said he was on his way. I called him at 1:30 wondering where he was AGAIN and left a message (he never answers his phone). He texted back again saying he was on his way. He got to my house about 2:00 and finally worked for a few hours (till 5:30). He texted me at 2:00 saying he was up at the University and was on his way to me. An hour later he texted again saying his car was over heating got to my house at almost 5pm. I sent him away. I guess he gets to keep the $300 dollars I gave him.. He had worked a total of maybe 5-6 hours. (Only really did about 1 hours worth of work). My son had to redo most of what he did because it was not done right. By this time my son had taken the 1 days off and had finished the whole project.

    Dave Passey Plumbing & Heating
The cost of the warranty replacement was roughly half of the original installation. I don't find any comfort in getting a 6-year warrantied appliance that has to be replaced every 2 years. I would be happier with better quality equipment. We are an average size family with average usage. The service tech noted that they are cheaper labor than their competitors which I did not verify. The point though is that I am after minimizing the number of water-heater replacements not finding the cheapest to install. There has to be better quality water-heaters out there. Please use them or offer them. Our previous hot water heaters all lasted 6-10 years. I am not pleased with the Bradford White equipment.

ESCO Heating, AC, Plumbing & Electric
Great, I thought it needed to be roto-rooted but the tech advised against it because it could damage the pipe and cause a more expensive repair. Instead he did what he would do if it would have been his house and used his shop vac to clean it out.

    ACTION PLUMBING HEATING AND A/C
The service man was very nice, but he ran an instrument over my tile and told me I had water damage underneath my tile. He recommended a restoration company that could come out and give me a better idea of what needed to be done. That company called and came out about an hour later. They ran the same instrument over my tile and told me that I had water damage. They said the could fix it that afternoon. So against my better judgement I let them come in my house and tear up my entire bathroom, tile and all. Come to find out, that instrument is not what you are supposed to use to detect water under your tile. And according to the insurance company and Utah Disaster Cleanup three never should have ripped out the tile. So now I'm out a 1,000 in an insurance deductible for a problem that didn't exist. I realize that Action didn't tear up my bathroom, but they were the instigators.

    Harris-Dudley Plumbing Co
Harris-Dudley had someone at the house within the hour. He pinpointed the leak and had it fixed and the water back on within two hours. All told, the water was only off for three hours. Not bad considering it was an emergency on the weekend. Emergency rates were fair

    Inter Mountain Soft Water
Service date is approximate - have had many interactions with them in the last 10 years. 1st interaction - Overcharged for a water softener install. I didn't know better at the time, but their prices were double what you can get elsewhere. 2nd interaction - Manufacturing defect created a leak and I had to pay for the part replacement (metal roller swirls inside pipe to measure gallons used, but the metal piece wore through the pipe quickly). I don't remember what I paid for that small plastic elbow but the price was definitely gouging. 3rd interaction - Moving water softener to new house. They moved the unit but without asking me, they poured an expensive additive cleaning solution in the brine tank and added $60 to the invoice and expected me to pay for something I never asked for. ***Instead of paying them $60 for a quart of their water softener cleaner, just go on Amazon and get a Gallon (4 quarts!) of ResCare RK41N All-Purpose Water Softener Cleaner Liquid for $14 and it works perfectly with the same active ingredients according to the MSDS on the product. 3rd interaction: Another leak and they said I needed new resin due to age of system and a new timer. They they quoted me just as much to replace the resin as I could buy an entirely new unit with higher capacity for. They gave some story about how it's special resin and not the kind you'd find elsewhere. I had enough of their deceptive practices, manipulative pricing and several bold faced lies I was told so I paid the minimum fee and didn't have any work done. Instead of using them and being taken advantage of, I bought my own unit on Amazon (Fleck 5600SXT 64,000 Grain Water Softener Digital SXT Metered Whole House System for $600) and it was easy to install myself. You can easily have any plumber connect it for about $150-200. The best part: My salt consumption is about 10% of what it was before! I went from constantly refilling my salt to using less than a bag per month. My new system is metered so it only backwashes when it needs to, rather than on a schedule that they setup before which ran far too often and was very wasteful, shortening the life of the unit. Our water is better than it's ever been. Avoid this place at all costs.
