Yes, I did use the services of " Petersen Medical" Home Healthcare - Medical Equipment and Services. They provided my mom with the oxygen equipment, and she lives in Midvale, Utah. We are happy with them. They've been good. If I were starting for the first time with a company, I would look for customer service and response time. We're permanently using the services. We've been using them for couple of years, maybe two years. I agree with the disclaimer that you read to me as correct, and I dont mind this audio and its text placed on the web.

I use them all the time.  Their pricing is good.  They have good support services.  They have good locations.  They are all good.  They have retail outlets.

I'm about to get back in. What I like about them is when you are looking to get medical things like support stockings that the doctor's ordered or a CPAP mask or things like that, they are very willing to have you try it on so that it will fit properly. The frustrating thing about the whole office is that, there is often a line, so the waiting time is a little bit long and it's a smaller place. They do have costumer service to help you there.

Office personnel do not seem to be very organized. They don't seem to communicate with each other or write appts. down.

This is a review of their explanation of the CPAP machine and CPAP mask only. That is only a small part of the goods and services they provide. The explanation of the machine was not all it could have been. When I explained that I had used CPAP some years ago, I received a very brief and rather rushed explanation of the machine. The machines and masks have changed in recent years. The machines do more and as a result there's more to learn about them. My suggestion would be to explain things at the speed of a normal conversation, and ask the customer periodically whether he or she understands what is being said, and whether there are any questions. Probably most CPAP users are older people (I’m 71) and need that approach. It is not very helpful when a person has you try on a CPAP mask while you’re sitting in a chair, and simply asks “How does that feel?” A CPAP mask often feels OK when you’re sitting up straight in a chair, compared to when you’re lying down on a bed, with your head on a pillow, trying to get to sleep. Your facial contours are different, which can make a big difference in how tight the mask will feel, how well it fits, and whether or not it will leak air. Also, whether you sleep on your back or on your side makes a difference in how well the mask will prevent air leakage. It’s simply a matter of adjusting, but it would have helped if the staff had taken those things into account when talking with me. Most beginning CPAP users, and some people who are returning after not having used CPAP for years, don’t know how to tell the difference between discomfort that is inevitable and discomfort that is a problem and needs assistance from the medical office staff. It would have been good to hear something like “It may take you awhile to learn how tight the mask should be adjusted. The way the mask feels right now, when you’re sitting up straight, will probably not be exactly the way it will feel when you’re lying in bed. A good rule of thumb is that it when you’re lying down, it should fit just tightly enough to prevent air from escaping.” The ideal CPAP fitting room would have a recliner that lets you lie out straight. This office does not, and the three staff members that I’ve talked to, don’t seem to recognize the need to compensate for that to the extent that they can. However, they are friendly and do seem concerned. There is a CPAP support group in this area that I just found out about. That would be a good thing to mention during a person’s fitting session. Since the typical customer in a medical supply office can take awhile to assist, there needs to be more than one person available to assist customers. Yesterday when I stopped by to return a mask (which only takes a minute or two), there was only one person behind the counter, and there were two people ahead of me. It would have been good if she had paged someone to help out for a few minutes. Usually they have done this when a line starts to form.

This company balance bills Medicare patients!! Older people who typically have a lower income anyway are the people they are taking advantage of so they don't have to accept Medicare's "allowed" amount. Shame on you!! They do it through a loophole by making you sign a paper stating you're ok ok with it or they won't order the product fo ryou. They wanted to charge me $299 for a product and insisted I pay up front for it. They said I would get $120 back from my insurance. I just ordered the EXACT same product on another site and paid for it out-of-pocket $150 (shipping included) without using my insurance... you do the math. They are ripping people off and potential customers should know that they can get things cheaper elsewhere. When I called them to say that I was dissatisfied and planned to review them online, they hung up on me. Clearly they don't care.
