Concrete Driveways reviews in Riverton

    JEREMIAH REX SMITH CONSTR LLC
It was awful! Mr. Smith comes off very nicely, but tends to behave like a used Auto salesman, when it comes to pushing HIS ideas & opinions! After showing him what was wanted, & what to stay away from, he did as he damned-well pleased, killed my lawn & rose bush, piled dirt on my water-feature/rock garden, bent the decorative fencing & prepared to pour concrete right where HE wanted it! I asked his workers to stop, but they refused, saying they would only take orders from him! The porch he contracted to have built was not done the way I wanted it, & it is already falling apart. When did the CUSTOMER stop being right??? Apparently, as soon as you hire Jeremiah Rex Smith for the job! One star is too many! On Yelp, Patrick C. states, "I had my drive way repaved close to winter but insisted it wasn't to late in the season. I had him do the work, he was replacing sidewalk also so the city got involved. And thank goodness or i have no doubt my driveway would fall apart in a couple years. My initial bid was about $600 less but nickle and dime a bunch of additive and extras because of the weather, not a problem if it was up front about the extra cost. put handing me a bill from your truck in the middle of the street saying you need more money is horrible. He also ended up charging me for a 4x4 piece that he said wasn't going to cost extra. In the end i'm sure it's a study piece of concrete but I have tried calling several times because there is a dip in the middle and water gathers there when he promised it would drain correctly without a drain system put in. In the end my driveway cost more then the next bid and they were going to put in a drench drain system and do it correctly. Don't trust what this guy says, and his opinion is not right regardless of his nice trusting demeanor. Cross checking what he saying with half a dozon other concrete companies he has come up full of crap. Very frustrated i spend that much money when i know for a fact i could of got a better driveway with proper draining for less money in the end."

    3 Gen Construction
Clint and his crew arrived the day before and delivered the equipment to start the next day as scheduled. In fact, they decided to start the night they brought in the equipment. The work was finished up on time with a few extras added in. After the job was through and a few days had passed, Clint came by and asked if everything met with my approval and wanted to take care of any issues that may not have been noticed when the job was completed. Clint was very helpful in helping me understand how and why he did things in the way he did, and was always ready to answer my questions. I would definitely hire 3Gen again.

I left a message requesting an estimate on Thursday. Clint called me on Friday and we arranged for him to come to our home on Saturday morning. He was very friendly and helpful and answered all our questions. After we accepted the bid, we got some good weather and he and his crew came out and finished the job in two and a half days. The driveway looks great and they did a good job in cleaning up afterward. Would highly recommend.

    Rose Concrete Additive Co
It was an excellent experience from start to finish. I waited to write this review to see how the work held up through a winter. It looks as good today as the day the work was finished! I would use this company again in a heartbeat!

    McMillan Concrete Construction
Randy was incredibly organized and prepared from having the job completed when promised to the minor detail of having a HVAC crew come out and remove the air conditioner. Communication was amazing and the quality was better than we could imagine. The job was approx 1700 square feet.

They did a great job, which took a little over a week to complete.  I spent a considerable amount time observing their work and feel that that Randy McMillan and his two sons were a hard working crew dedicated to their craft and providing quality work.  Everything turned out great and I even had two neighbors tell me they were impressed.

    West Jordan Concrete
The concrete work was done well; but, during the process the company damaged my sprinkler system and down spout for gutter. They seemed to have little regard for whatever damage they make.  The company was not receptive to the homeowner's desires regarding desires for the concrete layout.  It was generally difficult to communicate (get the message across).   Approximately 3 weeks after the work was done, the concrete sidewalk that lead from the driveway to the front entrance cracked.  I called the company and I have not received a response for a week after my call.  Based on my experience, I am highly doubtful that the company will ever respond.  The quality of the work and materials for the concrete seems to be done well.  Aside from the concrete work,  I had made an agreement for this company to do landscaping work at the same time that the concrete was being done.  The bid included both the concrete and landscape work.  Once the owner realized that he had underbid the landscape work, he backed out of the landscape commitment and only wanted to do the concrete work.
This company's bid was the best (lowest) compared to others.  If you decide to work with this company, I would make sure that damage that they do incidental to their work is addressed in the agreement.  I would also think carefully about the concrete design if it is going to be different than the existing.  Discuss design changes in advance with the company.  I would also discuss remediation for cracks and settling expectations and warranties  with the company.  Lastly, do not be tempted as I did to have them do any sort of landscape work.  They don't have the equipment and don't bid the work correctly.

    Savage Construction Inc

Paul from Savage met with me at my parents home to give a bid on replacing a old driveway that I was paying for.  Paul offered some great suggestions and offered an immediate bid that was very detailed; bid was a little higher than 3 other bids I had received from other reputable contractors.  Paul was willing to come down in price a little, but not to the lowest bid.  I knew Savage had a good reputation and I needed the driveway installed within a week to avoid some predicted very cold temperatures or I would elect to wait until spring to ensure quality concrete conditions.  Paul moved some things around on their schedule to slide this relatively smaller job in to the needed timeline.  Work started and completed as promised and in a professional manner - finish work was excellent!  The only small issue experienced was night temps fell much lower than expected or forecasted on the first night of the cement pour. Blankets were needed and were supplied; blankets supplied had a lot of holes and tears - very poor.

Overall, I would rate Savage as an "A", but after multiple requests for a paid receipt (after sending them payment), they haven't returned my multiple requests ( email, phone and text) for a paid receipt for the work done?   It is possible the company takes this time of year off ( off-season), but they still should return messages in the off-season. Again, I'm  pleased with quality and timeliness of work done.  If I do received a receipt in the next couple of weeks, I'll provide updated review to reflect rate Savage as an "A".

    McMillan Concrete Construction
We contacted Mcmillan Concrete Construction, LLC to bid the footings and foundation of the home we are building. Unfortunately they do not do footings and foundation work. They did, however, provide me with the name of another concrete company to check out. I appreciate that they responded quickly, even though their answer was no. I also think it speaks well of them that they gave me another name to try.

They definitely know what they're doing.  The morning they started, they noticed (even before they started the prep work) that the driveway might be too narrow for the cement truck; so they called a cement truck that was in the area to see if it would fit.  Other companies probably would not have bothered to do this and then been surprised if the truck was too wide for the driveway.
The finished work looks great, but I'm not a professional.  A few months later, I had a different contractor bidding on a different job and he commented on the job.  He asked who did poured the cement and said they did a great job.
I gave them a B for price; but this is mainly because I believe the price can always be better.
I would definitely hire them again.
