Everything went really well. Rob was punctual and got everything done quickly. The price was competitive. He and the contractors he brought in did an awesome job. In the master shower, they replaced and fixed some of the old pipes and fixtures, installed a new shower pan and all the tile and fixtures. He was even able to work in a curve ball we threw in and installed the niche in the shower. For the outdoor stair drain, he and his crew were able to remove the old, ineffective drain and setup a much better drain with higher capacity and that is better at absorbing the water and rain. Rob also did some research on the best options for drainage in the stair well and helped us avoid costly options that would not work long-term. We're very happy with the result. For the window well installation, he got the job done despite our indecision and patiently worked with us while we changed our minds. Now we have an installed window well attached to the wall in a very narrow space with the drainage gravel all setup and ready to go. All through the process, Rob was awesome at communicating with us, keeping us updated, and figuring out solutions with us, giving us invaluable info based on extensive experience to help us make the best possible choices.

Black Diamond Electric Plumbing Heating & Air
Black Diamond and Justin were amazing. Our furnace went out late in the night and it was freezing outside. Justin was there the next afternoon with a new furnace. He installed the furnace one day and the air conditioner the next day (ours was 25 years old and on its last legs). They made sure we were getting the right equipment and quality for our home. Black Diamond quickly helped us with financing and we were warm again in no time. Extremely professional. Great work. The furnace has been in for a couple of months and runs like a dream. Would hire again any time.

What a great experience!  The original estimate was $300 more than the end price.  Travis was able to get in and see an option that saved us a lot of money.  We would have never known so that speaks to honesty!  He was easy to work with and very patient.  This is who I am calling from now on!!

Additionally, I had just flown in from a business trip so wen I tried to pay, the bank declines the card thinking it was a fraudulent charge.  he was so kind and patient while I called the bank to let them know it was not fraudulent, I was just back in town now.  I knew every minute he waited for me to resolve the matter, he was losing money on another potential call.  He was not only patient, bit patient and gracious while we corrected that and got him paid.

First time around came out because AC Unit not cooling.  Of course hottest part of summer to that point. Changed filters, checked both units and serviced for a very reasonable price.  Came back the next day --no charge, to make sure everything was still running smoothly.
A month or so later is was pretty obvious it was a more serious problem as the AC inside unit and furnace are about 25 years old. So the technician, Chase, came out on a Sunday, made sure what the problem was, explained it to me and came out the next day with the correct motor and installed.
In both cases above and beyond!  Going to use Black Diamond for all AC, Furnace and Plumbing needs in future, no question.

It went fantastic.  I'm that customer that will walk out of a doctor's office if it's 20 min past my appointment time.  I appreciate punctuality.

An electrician came by on Monday before we scheduled the work.  He carefully explained the worst case scenario.  Every price he gave was at the high end of reasonable so that I understood what each piece could potentially cost.  Once I had decided on what work I needed done, he quoted me a much lower final price based on actual measurements.

We set a date and time on Friday between 8 and 9 am.  I arrived at 8:30 and they had already arrived and had obviously been there for some time preparing for the work.  They were courteous and professional.  We walked through the expected work again, discussed the expected cost, and they got to work.  They took care of all permits and inspections.  The city inspector knew them and validated that their work was consistently high quality and the inspection was generally simple.  I could see for myself that their work was good.  I come from a long line of electricians (my dad is a master licensed electrician) and know what sloppy work looks like.

When it was all said and done, I was charged even less than the quoted price as there were things that could have been more expensive.  They could have easily charged me more and I would have happily paid it.  Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one would know if you didn't.

There's no doubt that I'll be calling Black Diamond Electric back again the next time I need work done.

When I contacted them to schedule services, they informed me that they were scheduling 2 to 3 weeks out. The work I needed done couldn't wait that long. They were prompt in responding to me. I would just like my purchase refunded.

I worked solely with Roger on this.  I called and he came and did an estimate for me about 1/2 hour later; that aspect was very nice.  The original estimate was fairly high, however after showing him some competitor bibs, he lowered several of the bids quite a bit.  I had a friend refer Roger to me so I was inclined to go with him because I knew he would do good work; however, his bid was still significantly higher ($800) than another we had received.  I called him several times to ask questions, he was quick to respond to my questions/concerns and even researched some information for me.  In the end, we decided to go with another bid because we could get a higher grade panel for less than what Roger was able to do the work for.  That said we have some more electrical work to have done and we are strongly considering Roger to do this work.

The work was just completed in our house and we are pleased to this point.  I had several different company come and give me estimates for the work.  By far, Black Diamond was the least expensive (although another company dropped their price to a competitive level).  I felt that Dan when he did the estimate knew very well the materials offered.  In fact, one of the other electrician was not even aware of the availability of a QO panel for residential homes.  I spent quite a bit of time researching types of panel and both of the panels that they quoted for me were highly rated, especially the QO panel.  I felt like I actually got a deal based on the work that was completed.

Jason was the technician that completed the work for us.  He was prompt arriving right when I was told they would be here.  He and another technician (Jason), went straight to work and were able to get all the work done in a timely manner so that the electricity could be turned back on.  Jason was very upfront with me about the possibility of sheetrock damage before he started the work.  The only reason we had any was because of the phone jack that was located too close to the panel and the new panel was larger.  But none of the damage was actually created by him.

Overall, this has been a positive experience.  I decided to go with black diamond even over a personal referral of another electrician because I felt they had high review on angie's list and the price was better.  They were patient with me as I called back several times to ask questions and they always returned my calls in a timely manner.

I would recommend them for electrical work.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY - (I will put a summary first, and you can read the details if you want)  I hired these guys to fix a rain gutter, bath tub leak, look at a few lights that are not working correctly, fix a leaky toilet, and fix a loose sink faucet.  What I got was a rain gutter, two light switched replaced, and a leaky toilet fixed for just under $1,000!!!
They arrived a little late, but not horrible.  I gave them a list of to-do's.  I figured that with tow people working all day they would be able to get a lot of things done.  I have never tried the "Full Day of Work, with two guys, for $500" type of approach to handyman services.  I asked that the water issues be taken care of first, as the lights were just minor annoyances (3 way switch not hooked up right etc...).  I also added a few things like fixing a leaky toilet seal, and looking at a faucet that is loose (as extra's that could be done if they had extra time.
They started by taking down some ceiling in the garage (under the tub area) and looked for leaks.  They found what they thought was the leak.  I figured they would get that taken care of, but when I checked back in they were both in the front room, one guy fiddling with a light switch, and teaching the other guy about it.  He said that he was testing the lines to find which had power.  He told me that there was not a common line, but that there were two hot lines.  I said that the lights used to work prior to my brother in law replacing the switches, and that the reason the common line would be showing as a hot line was because it was crossed on the other side.  Using my instructions they finally figured out the light, with one guy standing around the whole time watching.
They could not figure out how to replace the faucet on the tub, which they thought was leaking.  They asked me about tearing down the whole internal wall to get at the faucet.  I did not like that idea, and they said, well we could go buy a tool that is used to get the cartridge out.  DUH!  I guess I assumed that if they were doing plumbing they would have the tools.
After that they disappeared for about an hour and a half.  Then came back and did the rain gutter.  And got the cartridge out of the tub faucet (the hardware and plumbing store are a 5 minute drive away).  They started to put the ceiling back up in the garage and I asked if they were sure that they had found everything.  I told them that the drain line had hard water marks around the joint and that I wondered if it was also leaking.  They tested it and found that it was leaking, so one guy left for another hour or so, to get supplies.  While he was gone the other guy replaced a light switch, and played around with the toilet (which I had said was just to be done if they had extra time)
That was their days work.  Got here late, were gone a lot of the day, spent much of the rest of the day with one guy watching, one guy working, then left around 3:00.  I called Scott, the owner and explained my concerns.  He said that wasted time is something that he ALWAYS has to deal with and work on, and that he would talk to them.  He said that he would only charge me for working time.
The next day they got the drain fixed and put the ceiling back together, and looked at a couple of light switches.  Then said that they could not fix the garage light because it was not the switch that was bad.  I guess that their knowledge of electrical does not extend beyond replacing a switch.  They also said that they could not fix the loose faucet, and recommended that I replace it.
Now a week and a half later I have water leaking through the garage ceiling again.  I called Scott and he said that it may be my kids splashing in the tub (which is not the case), and that he could send the guys back out to trouble shoot again, with me paying for their time again.  NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
In the end I got a rain gutter installed along the back of my home, a leaky toilet seal re-waxed, and two light switches replaced for $996.  WOW!  I would HIGHLY recommend hiring someone else for your work.
