    Romero Landscaping and Maintenance
We’ve worked with 6 contractors to complete various large-scale projects at our house in the last several years. Romero Landscape has been the easiest, most reliable, and overall the best to work with. Working from a plan our landscape architect designed, Paulino’s crew renovated our backyard, including excavating a large part of our two-tiered yard, building boulder retainer walls with guillotine stone steps, building a belgard sitting wall off our deck, setting pool coping, and laying over 1300 square feet of pavers. Here are a few reasons why I’d recommend Paulino for your landscaping job. I won’t even include the fact that his bid was considerably less than competitors. His bid came in $20k less than 2 other bids for similar work. I also won’t include the fact that his crew was busting *** from 8-6 every day and even made an after hours trip to my house to ensure another company could work on my pool that same week. Actually, it is worth noting that Romero has consistently delivered on timeliness. I’ve been coordinating work with multiple companies and Paulino has been the only consistent one. Paulino is a good general manager and oversees different aspects of his business in a timely and effective way. This goes a long way when working with contractors who pretty much are the worst in my experience. When he says he’ll show up, he does. He holds all the different components and details of the job in his head and communicates them with his people. Romero’s craftsmanship is pretty stellar. They’re really good. They give care and attention to all aspects of the job. The details they attended to made the final product really good in my experience. They problem-solve intelligently. I’m amazed at how many contractors either are incapable of or refuse to tackle “problems” that arise, particularly when those “problems” call for different strategies or tactics from their norm. Paulino’s guys were so smart about the work they completed, and when there were issues implementing the details of our landscaper’s plan, Paulino communicated the logistical challenges, put together alternative approaches, gave us his expert advice, and listened to what we wanted in the end. (We generally followed his advice because he knew what he was talking about.) They go above and beyond. Always felt like he was working for and listening to me. He did a few extra things that weren’t part of the bid at no charge. This stands in stark contrast to others I’ve worked with who nickel and dime you for little thing. Great experience working with these guys. Highest recommendation.

It went great. Gave us a great Quote and removed dead grass in a few hours. Then replaced with new Sod. Great to work with Fred and his wife. All the work was done in 2 days. Laid the sod in a few hours and did a great Job. I would use the company again. It looks great

Good Samaritan made this project enjoyable. It was a lot bigger project than I first realized. It was amazing to see the progress they made each day. They were able to adapt and improve some project changes. Fred was able to make the finished product better than I ever imagined. I loved the front yard so much that I asked them to add a little bit of their charm to my back yard. I would highly recommend them.

    Vince's Landscaping Inc
Vince and his team worked on my backyard for over five weeks, taking it from lots of dirt and weeds (basically nothing) to a properly graded and planted yard with pavers all around the house. This was a huge overhaul of a property we had just moved into and Vince's Landscaping did an excellent job. They have lots of experience with everything landscaping related, so they could do all of the work (grading, demolishing concrete, pouring concrete, installing pavers & fire pit & seating, wood stairs to get up the hill, irrigation, planting, etc). They did not charge me as much as most of the other landscapers, yet still did a great job. It was not an easy job either, as most of my backyard was a steep hill. Vince's Landscaping also did several "extra" things for me that were not part of the quote, at no extra charge. Thank you! All of my plants are California natives and Vince's team did a nice job of planting them. A very small percentage of plants died, and Vince returned to replace them. Also, very very important, they came back, over a year later, to fix things! Thank you so much, Vince & Alex & Jose and your team.

Good Samaritan Landscaping and Concrete LLC.
Fred and his crew at Good Samaritan put in a fire pit and a large area of pavers for us. They were easy and a pleasure to work with, always kept us informed, did exactly as promised and do quality work. The pavers and fire pit are beautiful, would definitely recommend Good Samaritan!

Good Samaritan Landscaping and Concrete LLC.
Fred and his wife are awesome! They came out and gave us a quote, which was reasonable. Had great ideas, and immediately understood our vision. We ended up not changing the lawn because we need more money for retirement instead. That said, use these guys. They're trustworthy, friendly, funny and just nice to work with.

working with Good Samaritan was excellent. They helped me with design ideas at the beginning. They built a large retaining wall and added pavers. The crew worked hard all day and the owner Fred was on site working and checking the work everyday. They took the time to clean up the area beyond the work agreed to just to make everything right which I really appreciated. They really went above and beyond on the work.

    Aoki Landscaping LLC
We got a series of bids to have a retaining wall, paver patio and pergola installed in our backyard. All the bids were within a few thousand dollars of each other, but our interactions with the contractors were night and day. Joi Aoki and Rita Pacheco, the principals of Aoki Landscaping, are a breed apart. When you get right down to it, the best contractors are those where the price is commensurate with the quality. We don’t mind paying more for better quality, and when we are operating on a tight budget, we want to know that the quality is the best that what we can afford—we don’t want to spend money for a poor outcome. Rather than showing us a half dozen concrete pavers in the trunk of a car, Joi sent us to Beehive Brick and Stone’s expansive showroom; instead of a sketch map of the proposed construction drawn freehand on an iPad, we received a scaled drawing produced with AutoCad; rather than receiving vague answers to direct questions, we got straight answers, including a few “I’m not sure, I’ll get back to you on that.” And they always did. Work began in early September, heralded by the arrival of an enclosed trailer parked on the street that contained an entire Ace hardware store, a mini excavator, a Dingo skid steer and a large dump trailer. Over the next few months they removed about 20 yards of dirt, replaced much of it with gravel, then sand and then pavers. Along the northern and eastern edge of the patio, they built a long, sinuous retaining wall made from blocks that matched the pavers. Then they built and raised the pergola after cutting graceful curves along the bottoms of the beams and rafters, plus decorative ends. It is gorgeous. Joi, Rita and their dog Remy became members of our family within the first week. We gave them a key to the house without a second thought. They were punctual, considerate, industrious and kept us up-to-date on any issues that arose. Joi and Rita are also two of the kindest and gentlest people we’ve ever met. We made several changes during the course of the construction, and the additional costs were reasonable and fully documented. We can’t wait to spend time in our gorgeous backyard patio. An additional plus is we will never again have to get bids on a landscaping project because we’ll just hire Aoki Landscaping.
