"Air conditioner and furnace were malfunctioning within the first year. On recent inspection, I found that the furnace had not been connected to the cold air return vent. The furnace has been sucking in unfiltered air from inside the basement closet where it had been installed.

"When I scheduled my appointment I was told that a 19 point inspection would be done which would include changing or leaving a filter if mine was clean; checking gas pressure; doing a CO (carbon monoxide) reading; checking blower motor; checking for gas leaks; vacuuming out unit; and several other things.
Filter--I was told mine was clean and didn't need changing and he didn't have one that was my size to leave anyway.
Checking gas pressure - said he could tell by looking at flame that gas pressure was okay.
CO testing - not done.
Blower motor -- told that blower is starting to go out and that capacitor was bad.
Gas leak check - not done
Vacuuming out unit - told it was amazingly clean for a 20 year old unit and then didn't vacuum.
Heat exchanger -- told that there was a crack and popped seams after he looked at with a remote camera. (Did not do a direct visual inspection)
His conclusion was that the furnace needed replacement and said that a new furnace would save us lots since ours was only a 70% efficiency furnace.
I called another heating/air conditioning company (Bridgerland) for a second opinion (cost $60). They said that the secondary heat exchanger on our furnace made it a 90% efficiency furnace. They also said that if we had a cracked heat exchanger that the furnace should have been shut down to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning. The tech checked the furnace with a remote camera and found no cracks or popped seams. The tech then took the furnace apart enough so that he could look at the heat exchanger directly just to make sure he wasn't mistaken. No cracks or no popped seam. To make doubly sure that nothing was wrong, the tech put the furnace back together and then tested for CO. After running the furnace for quite a while, no CO was detected.
I'm disappointed with the

tech and am glad I got a second opinion. It is an old furnace and apparently viewing the heat exchanger with a remote camera can result in errors, but the

tech should have been as thorough as the comapny I called for a second opinion before telling me we needed a new furnace.
The

tech was personable and punctual.

"After hearing multiple advertisements for the "Complete furnace tune-up" at $33 dollars I called the provider to schedule an apt to have my furnace serviced for winter. I also discussed with them the possibility of servicing the a/c as well. My initial call to them was on 9/9/13. Being a working person I asked for their 4-6 pm or a Saturday appointment and was scheduled out to the next week. On the day of my appointment I called and got a confirmation of the appointment. Two hours later they called back to say they were extremely busy as it had turned cold and could I reschedule for another time. I advised I would and rescheduled the appointment to another date and time about a week later. On the day of that appointment I waited for someone to show up or call during the scheduled time but no one did. After the latest time had passed (6 pm) I finally got a call from them telling me they were very busy (again) and would not make it out. They asked if I could reschedule again to which I agreed. They did not show for the next appointment either (this past Friday) and called after 8 pm that time. When they wanted to reschedule I advised that this would be the third time and that I was really needing to get the furnace serviced. They promised to come out a few days later between 4-6 pm again, which was today. At 6:15 pm today I got another call wanting to reschedule and I said no and that I would be calling someone else. I have rarely seen such unprofessional practices as this and will never use this provider or recommend them to anyone.

"I found them on Angie's List. They offered the most affordable price. The gentleman that came out was nice, respectful, and knowledgeable about heating and air conditioner units."

"Their pricing was the best. Their overall design of what they had to do was great. All three companies mentioned installing air ducts. This company's price and design were the best. They are very fair, and they have a better thought process."

"
Ogden HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
rescheduled my appointment twice. I assume this is because my system is under warranty and I would not be charged for the visit. As above, their tech recommended some expensive repairs that were unnecessary and seemed designed only to upsell the visit. I've been extremely disappointed with
Ogden HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
on several different occasions. In four separate appointments, I have been asked to reschedule because they "had an emergency". Their services are very overpriced and their work is poorly executed. I would not recommend them under any circumstances."

Heating & Air completed many needed repairs. An estimate on the repairs was given as soon as I could schedule it. The estimate was fair and the final price held to the estimate - there were no surprises. Scheduling of the actual work was also done without delay as soon as "I" was ready. The work was completed courteously, meticulously, and quickly (despite a few "old pipe" surprises). I will use this company again."

"We do get our money's worth out of this company. They are reliable and friendly. They are prompt and efficient. Their work is effective and we trust them. They're great and we like them a lot."
