  • After listening to a rather lengthy greeting when I called for a bid I left a message explaining the work needed, my city of residence, name & phone number as requested. It has been two weeks now & I have not heard back from this company. If a company is to busy or inconsiderate to return calls they are not the ones I want to perform work for me.

  • Received estimate for work to be performed, and price was acceptable. Painters were punctual and hard-working but did not communicate very well. Decided to paint extra layers throughout the house and charge me without even getting permission. At the completion of the job items were lost and fixtures were not reinstalled. Per their instructions, I placed my valuables in a separate room and instructed the painters not to go in there. Unfortunately, they ignored my instructions and begin moving items into that room instead. Might not sound like a big deal, but when you were blind it’s not acceptable to have items moved without your permission. I specifically instructed them to let me know if anything needed to be moved, but they refused to listen. In the middle of winter, painters would leave doors open when coming in and out of the house. Entire experience was frustrating and not worth the money. Would not recommend.

  • I would not recommend Custom Exteriors, Inc of West Haven, Utah to anyone after my experience with their work. Last summer I had a friend recommend using Custom Exteriors for soffit, facia and new rain gutters on my home. I got several bids on the project but decide to spend a little extra and use Custom Exteriors because of my friend’s recommendations. During the quote phase Paul White came out and gave us the estimate. Paul said that the new facia and soffit would resolve my water issues and I wouldn’t have to paint ever again (which turned out to be untrue on both accounts). Paul said that he had been installing facia and soffit for a long time and the work would be exemplary. When Paul finished things started to go downhill. The first problem was obvious to me right away. The new soffit and facia where a nice dark color but I had a white stipe around my house. When I talked to Paul he said that he does not replace the drip strip, so I would need to paint it to match. If he was really such an experience professional, he would have mentioned it up front or painted it to match during the install. (I guess my roofer was really a pro because he painted my vents so they wouldn’t stand out.) The bigger problem didn’t show its face until a few months later when we got a lot of rain. The water was running behind the facia and dripping off the bottom of the soffit, so now I have to worry about mold behind the soffit and facia. I have called, emailed and texted Paul but he just gives me the same story, I will try to get my gutter guy to come and look at it. Its still not fixed. The promise of not to having to paint anymore wasn’t true and my water issues are not fixed. It looks like I will have to pay a true professional to come out and fix it. After hearing about my issues my friend won’t be recommending them to anyone else that’s for sure.

  • I would highly recommend Unlimited Siding. Chris came out and explained things as we talked about what needed to be done on our house. Since I had gotten other estimates I had picked out the siding color I thought I wanted. Chris explained the siding color I picked would have a real orange tint when on my house. This would not have been good with our brown brick so I appreciated his honesty. It took a bit for them to get to us because they were busy but it was worth the wait. Jeremy and Montana were great with the windows and siding. Very professional and always leaving my yard cleaned up when they left for the day. May not be the quickest but very happy with the end result.

  • It went very well. They were a husband and wife team. The work was done very much to our satisfaction. Gary and Marcie were great! Very professional and worked well together. The work was done quickly, and perfectly. They were extremely trustworthy. We left them at times alone at our home and felt very comfortable doing so. We enjoyed having them around. The price we paid for the work done was VERY reasonable. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

  • I've used this company for several years. It's a small family owned business, a father and two of his adult children. They charge a reasonable price for their services, offering frequent deals. They are prompt, thorough, and polite. I highly recommend this company.

  • Being a very particular person, I found Robert and his team did a wonderful job on all aspects of my fencing, mow strip, and aluminum soffit job. I was most impressed with his attention to detail on each area of the job. I asked for very specific things to be done and he accommodated and went beyond any and all expectations. It is great to find a craftsman that takes pride in his work and I was as proud as he was with the job he did. I recommend him to my friends, who knowing how particular I am, are relieved to have someone who is so great to work with and provides them with a great finished project.

  • Windows installed within reasonable timeframe giving consideration to rainey season. However, the front window leaked and damaged interior sheetrock with no resolution to this date. Siding job was much slower and more difficult than expected. Work began later than promised, "finished" much later than promised and not to agreed standard. Unfinished work below some windows. Gap in custom corner moldings, doesn't match up with siding. Order placed and deposit made 4/20/2015. Contacted salesman Tony in June 2015 to report problems with leaking window and unfinished areas. No resolution to leaking window but other work finally "completed" in July 2015. Rock broke garage window, window replaced. Found a broken window sash in summer 2016 and requested replacement. Still waiting for response to have window replaced. Siding damaged May 2016, Champion refused to replace even though it carries a "Lifetime guarantee on your siding and installation" as promised when I purchased and advertised on their national web site. Since reporting damage I have been "provided" with the blank, unsigned siding warranty. Not provided to me at time of purchase and still states lifetime waranty with exception for "Acts of God." Who defines them? Long, frustrating story made short: Division Manager Tony "fired" Salt Lake Office unresponsive I contacted "Summer" at National Office New Division Manager "Chad" did finally visit my home on August 11th with Regional VP and denied any assistance with damaged siding, uneven installation or damaged sheetrock from leaking window but promised replacement of broken window sash.... As of today, Dec. 4th, nothing has been replaced nor has there been any contact made with me to make arrangements to do so. I am very sorry I made the decision to do business with Champoin. I thought I was getting Lifetime products and warranties for service and what I have ended up with is overpriced products and broken promisis!

  • Really, we were very impressed. Everything this company did was quality. I even asked for some extra little tasks to be done & they were done well & without any complaints. I was very particular about the process & completeness of each task & found them done to my liking before I even asked.

    My son in real estate & I have already recommended to several other people. I alone to at least 3 who have hired/will hire this conpany.

    I am extremely pleased with their work, including the facts they have a professional website, are very willing to make their customers happy, & they have established themselves with Angie's List.

    Submitting a review to Angie's list resulted in prompt contact from Chris, a representative for Five Star Painting.  After much discussion, I have come to the conclusion that there was a lack of communication from all parties leading to frustration for all concerned.  
    Five Star Painting worked quickly to resolve the situation to our satisfaction and we were able to pay for all services performed.
    Bottom line, as is true in so many situations, there was a lack of communication and expectations and realities were ill defined.

     Five Star Painting provided quality work, at an honest price.

    After multiple attempts to reach Chris or "the owner" by phone we have decided to send the following letter by certified mail.
    1 August 2015
    Five Star Painting

    RE: Quote 4953
    To Whom It May Concern:
    We received a quote for the following:
    ? Pressure wash the exterior of our home
    ? Paint the ceiling in the master bathroom and provide the paint
    ? Paint the ceiling in a child?s bedroom and provide the paint
    ? Paint the ceiling in the family room and provide the paint
    ? Remove the crackle paint from a wall in the middle bathroom and repaint, with paint provided by the customer, to match the other painted walls. 
    o The bathroom was quoted as being very labor intensive because so much sanding would need to be completed
    All services where completed by Wednesday 22 July 2015.  The pressure wash and three ceilings were satisfactory, job well done.  The bathroom however was not completed satisfactorily.  Mark notified Chris, within 24 hours of the completion that the job was not performed correctly: 
    1. There are spots on the wall where you can still see crackling
    2. The wall was not sanded smooth to match the other wall 
    3. The wall was textured and painted so now it doesn?t match the other painted walls in the bathroom
    Chris apologized that the work was done incorrectly and we were told he would get back to us, we reminded him, again, that we were under a time line, as our home was being prepared to be put on the market.  We told him the real estate agent would be taking pictures of our home on Tuesday 28 July, 2015. We sent pictures to Chris of the paint that was still crackling, of the textured wall and of the smooth walls in the bathroom.  We offered to have the painter come and texture the other very small area to match the area that had been done and we would provide the paint, we felt like this would be a quicker and less expensive option but none of those options were acceptable.  
     We did not hear back from Chris until Saturday he stated that he had to contact the owner to discuss a plan to fix the issue.  We were told that there was no way the error could be corrected prior to Wednesday 30 July 2015 as your company has more important things to attend to on Monday and Tuesday.  
    Chris told Mark he would call him on Sunday with a firm time.  Mark tried to call the Chris several times Monday and Tuesday but received the response that the mailbox was full.  We did not hear from Chris again, Mark called again on Wednesday morning and was told the painter was on the way, but Mark told him never mind as our house was staged and we had a showing scheduled for 2pm Wednesday afternoon and 2 showings between 6-7pm Wednesday evening.  Mark asked Chris to let the painter know not to come, the painter still came and left when Mark would not grant access to the house.  Mark asked Chris to readjust the quote so we can pay for the work that had been completed.  To that Chris responded he would have to get with the owner and hung up. 
    It is now Saturday 1 August 2015 @12:45 in the afternoon, we have still not heard back from your company.  I called your main office number and spoke with someone, on a recorded call, who told me she would escalate our concern to the owner and we should hear back within two business days.  I do not think we are being unreasonable, we are simply asking for a fair price for the work that was performed and the labor for sanding and prepping the bathroom be removed. 
    The bottom of our quote states something to the effect of payment is due within 15 days of service, and interest will be charged if not paid. If the matter is taken to court we would be responsible for court cost etc.  We are trying to avoid any of this, but have been frustrated with the lack of communication between Chris, ?the owner?, the workers who have a language barrier and ourselves. 
    We would appreciate a quick and fair resolution.
