Eye Care reviews in Ogden

Doctor and tech were both very informative, friendly, and professional. Lots of people waiting and I had to wait almost 45 minutes past my original appointment time the very first time I went there because they were transcribing my optometry records into the computer. I came back for further eye tests a few weeks later and I did get seen on time.

I arrived fifteen minutes before my appointment time to fill out the new patient paper work.  Everyone was helpful, kind, and cheerful.  Before I finished the paper work, I was called back to have the technician do the preparatory eye exams.  She was very good with a gentle touch.   After she completed her work, Dr. Dastrup was in the room within five minutes.  He is very personable; he explained everything very thoroughly in laymen's  terms, yet he was not at all condescending.  When he was with me, I felt like I was his only patient.  He was very focused on me and my eyes.   As I made my next appointment, the staff member helping me was friendly, helpful, and her demeanor very pleasant.  I have found the M.D. I want to take care of my eyes!

After the examination, I moved over to the contact lens and eyeglass shops. My only complaint here was that they appeared under-staffed, but that was primarily because they were very busy and I had to wait for a while to get assistance with my eye glass fitting. This is the only reason my overall rating dropped from an "A" to a "B". |Overall this is an excellent facility, with everything you need for one-stop shopping for eye care. The staff is very professional and courteous as well.

Mount Ogden Eye Center forgot to put my appointment down as a diabetic eye appointment after I specified it was so Medicare wouldn't cover it. I didn't get my bill till December, because first they put it through my insurance and my insurance so uh-uh. They need to improve on their billing practices. I told them it was a diabetic eye check, but they didn't make a not of it when I went in. There is a difference because with Medicare a diabetic is allowed to get a yearly exam, because it can affect your eyes.

The doctor did a good job. I saw Dr. Sykes. The staff were very friendly and fairly knowledgeable. It was a B overall, because of the billing. I probably will use them again, but I will make sure they note that it is a diabetic eye check.

I have had my exams and prescriptions done by Roosevelt Vision Source for many years. I have a great deal of confidence in their capabilities. They seem to be on the leading edge of new technologies. I have been generally pleased with my service with them.

As usual, I had just a short wait at the front desk to check in and present my insurance card. The office staff was friendly. After another short wait, I was escorted to an exam room where a technician did the usual tests of my eyesight. Next, eye drops were administrated, there was a wait while my pupils dilated. Then the opthalmologist examined my eyes, and determined that my close-up vision was fuzzy because my eyesight has actually improved, so my eyeglass prescription needed to be tweaked. That took care of the problem. Both opthalmologists and optometrists work at this facility. Since my insurance will pay for either, I always request an opthalmologist, since I do have small cataracts which at some point will need to be removed. The only reason I didn't give this place a perfect rating is because on this visit, the doctor didn't even mention my cataracts during or after the exam. When I asked him about them, he acknowledged that I had them but they didn't need treatment at this point.

I arrived at the office a few minutes early. The office staff took my insurance information and had me fill out a history. The office staff were friendly and professional. They explained what I was to do with the papers they ask me to fill out. Once I filled out the information, Dr. Sykes nurse came and took me back to the examining room. Eye drops were administered. Dr. Sykes did a very thorough exam and explained what the shadows I have been seeing represented. He told me of warning signs to look for. I appreciated his detailed explanations. I will return for all future eyecare.
