Appliance Repair reviews in Ogden

Tim was so patient. Sometimes the dishwasher worked and sometimes not; and of course the first time it worked. So he patiently waited until he could diagnose the promise. Many techs would have said to call again when it quits again. Thankfully the motor was on board his truck. Repairs were done in less than an hour.

I am not one that usually leaves reviews for companies at all but I am one that very much pays attention to them before buying from them. In this case I decided to buy a home warranty with LandMark for two houses that I have. I have been dissatisfied with having to use them on each of the houses I have, each dealing with HVAC issues. Customers are the life home warranty companies and the reviews I read from LM were quite impressive and they were local so I figured I would go with them due to those factors. Upon having to use them for my Central Air Conditioning unit at my house and for the evaporative cooler and for my refrigerator in my second house I have thoroughly been disappointed with them and unfortunately will not renew my contracts once they expire in the next 9-10 months. It is unfortunate that when an item is deemed dysfunctional that they give you what they feel is the value of the device/unit regardless of what the partnered contractors claim they need to charge to replace/repair it. Insurance is in place to be insured for when an item goes wrong, not so the insuring company can find ways to claim they either wont cover the cost associated with it (Like LM did with my central air system that wasnt cooling properly, but after the contractor came out and identified that the system needed to be replaced due to it not operating properly as it wasnt cooling the house below 85,* they said that this was working and functioning and if I wanted to have it cool better then I would have to pay for a new system myself.). (I ended up paying $5400 for a system that operated properly after they denied my request, saying that the unit was working and blowing cool air. The most recent experience came by the way of the evaporative cooler for my second home. One day it did not turn on. They hired Swamp Tech tom come look at the unit, who identified that the system was not working properly and needed to just be replaced as it was too old to replace anything on the unit. LM claims that the value was going to cover only $194. $194? Why did you offer me a home warranty if you arent going to cover the expense to replace the defective part and labor involved? I was quoted that the part and labor was going to cost anywhere from $400-$550 depending on the time it takes to replace it or I would have to buy a new unit myself ($400-$700) and then pay approximately $750 for labor. This is a bill that I would have to pay for myself. I understand that if these companies paid out every claim they would ultimately go out of business. But this seems like a sleezy way to get money for peace of mind and then ask you to pay for more in the end. Sorry LM, I have given you multiple attempts to prove your value and each time I was left in the dark footing the bill. Sadly, I have now bought a new Home Warranty with a competitor that was a little more expensive in hopes that the service and support is worth its value. It is nice to have a home warranty for peace of mind, but sucks quite a bit when you actually need to depend on them and they leave you hanging over and over again. I am sure they have been great with other customers and they are polite over the phone with you when you speak with them, but I wont be a future customer after dealing with them multiple times.

When they first came, they checked to see if the compressor was under warranty, which is was. They got the compressor under the warranty, and I only had to pay for the labor for them to install it. I really appreciate their willingness to check into the warranty to save me money. They were also able to do the repair more quickly than they anticipated. As soon as the parts came in they came to do the repair. Their service was excellent and I'm very happy with them.

Fixed one appliance halfway. After over a month of waiting for them to return to repair, they "brought the wrong part." I had another item I wanted to look at but the repairman left saying "next time." That was over 2 months ago... It's like I don't exist to them. I am finally resorting to another company.

Arrive in two sessions.  First, was to a**** what needed to be done.  Second to replace bearings.  Both individuals were clean and neat, attended to our needs in an efficient manner.  We would recommend.

At the time of my home purchase last year, I was given a list of different warranty companies to choose from. After consideration, I settled on Landmark and have been very pleased. I have filed claims online, over the phone, and via smartphone. I have had to have five claims filed, and each time I was given perfect service. I've had a broken refrigerator (twice), water issues, as well as a non-functioning stove. The turnaround time was very fast on each claim and the vendors they chose to come to my home took care of the problems well.

Their online site is very consumer-friendly, and I have never had to wait while calling on the phone. (Once, in the middle of the night, my water heater started leaking and they were able to get a plumber out that morning which solved the issue). You can also review all past claims online and see the status of each. You can also easily check prices and coverage as well.

All in all, I highly recommend Landmark. A must have for new homeowners as you never know what will break on you. Also, a shout out to Nelson's Plumbing, A-Plus Service, and Total Appliance Service. Thanks!

Kyle came a little early (after calling, of course) and attacked the puzzle of the burner malfunction. His troubleshooting skills were very logical and effective, as he did find the wire inside the wall that was causing the problem. (I have an old stovetop with wires going through the wall to the control panel on the hood above.) He fixed the wire and did a great job explaining the problem and the fix.
The next two fixes were a stove burner and an oven heating element that both needed to be replaced. Again, Kyle showed his expertise by locating parts that fit (having made a suitable substitution in the case of my very old oven). He went out of his way to get the appropriate parts in quickly, and I had full function of my oven and stove by the weekend, in time for Easter!
The price listed above is the "copay" that I had as part of my home warranty program. The warranty covered the cost of the parts and any additional labor.

Well, most recently, many of our appliances decided to break or malfunction.
We called Mark-A-Newt and they arrived that day.
We've used these guys for years and gladly recommend them to anyone in need of appliance repair or service.
Rick, the owner, is SUCH a hard worker and very trustworthy. He will give you an honest price and opinion.
We ended up purchasing a new clothes washer (from another vendor) and Mark-A Newt fixed our dishwasher (it had become unhinged and off kilter), as well as our oven (computer issues)
In the past, Rick and his team have fixed our refrigerator in addition to maintaining the appliances in our rental. WE have been very pleased with the service.

Arrived on time. Was pleasant, but slow. Nothing has changed in my washing machine. Still having the same problems I had before. Not willing to call them back as I'm in the process of packing and moving. Will use different repair company after I move.

I called 3 times in one and nobody answered. I called the next day and finally talked to someone. He said he would look into the error code I told him I was getting and call me back. He never did. I called the next day, and he said he would look into it again and call me back. He never did.
