    Mountain Alarm
    I had been a loyal customer with Armed Alert for 14 years.   I was long past the 2-year commitment that Armed Alert started with, presumably to defray the costs of equipment and installation, just like many companies do with new customers.   Then when Mountain Alarm took over in 2014, we had to sign a new contract with Mountain Alarm.   They re-instated the 2-year commitment even though they had zero added installation and equipment costs.   Shame on us for not seeing this in the fine print when we signed the contract.   Had we seen this, we would have dropped the service because we knew at the time we would be leaving in 2015.   Mountain Alarm is not letting us out of the commitment and demanded that we pay for additional year of service.   I talked to them on the phone and my 14 years of loyalty to Armed Alert that they purchased clearly meant nothing to them.  I would never do business with them again and I am letting all my neighbors know the same.

    After a phone call describing our needs, the kit arrives at the door. We assembled it on every window and door to the house. The system tracks motions and door/window openings/ closings. When activated, security will be called if unexplained opening/closings/movements occur.

    We were sold to them when our company left the home protection field. We had had ADT originally 12 years ago and left them because they were not providing any service. If there is an alarm, they call you and then supposedly notify the police if you do not answer. The police do not usually respond to such calls.

    For the most part things went well.  Residing in a ZIP code shared between multiple cities required a couple of calls before my home was listed in the correct one.
    About a year after install, the central transmitter became unable to communicate to the company.  The problem was only discovered when I attempted to use the iPhone app to check the status of the system.  The transmitter apparently had been failing for nearly a month.  Would have expected some type of call/notification of the issue.

    First installer drilled holes in the wrong place and broke a glass vase. Second installer corrected first installer mistakes and installed extra camera we wanted. Apologized for first installer and said he would look into reimbursing damage done.

    Salesman made promises that the installer could not honor.  Contract
    lasts forever, and there is a penalty for a cancellation (the balance of
    the contract.)  Has caused problems with our telephone service and our
    internet.  Long wait whenever you call.  I would not use Pinnacle again.

    Order equipment on a Friday, asked for a Saturday delivery which they were able to provide.  All equipment installed as per their instructions.  They also verified that all equipment was working and was ready for use.  
    Had to re-program one of the devices, which telephone support assisted with.  They also did a walk through on the features and assisted with customizing the system to our needs.
    All of the devices were really easy to setup.
    It has been working as expected and fortunately we have not needed it!...

    At the end of the day my alarm system is up and running but couple things to note: ·         New system went out 3 days in- took about 10 emails to support and me getting frustrated before they sent out a new unit- seemed h*** bent on trouble shooting and getting me to take apart the three day old unit as opposed to getting me out one that worked.  They always need to ask ?their manager?.  Seems like a lack of empowerment to make things right. ·         Did not swap the old and new units correctly so nightly for about 5 days got a call from the alarm company at 11pm at night saying our signal was out.  Not fun. ·         At the end of the day, it?s working now but not sure I would do it again.  For me there was an overpromise on their website and videos and an under delivery on the service backing up the product.
