  • It went so-so. I purchased roller shades from selectblinds.com in February 2016. I followed their measuring instructions the best I could, but all but one of the roller shades are too narrow. I had to go to Home Depot and buy spacers to be able to install them. I am not very thrilled with the roller shades. About 1 1/2 years after purchase, one of the parts broke, so I had to ask them to send me a replacement (I had paid for the five-year unlimited warranty). It took them a few weeks and required multiple follow-up emails--should have been just a few days.

  • After having our blinds repaired repeatedly over the years, due to poor quality, we again took the blinds in today. I was told by employees, "the Lifetime Warranty is the lifetime of the blinds which is 7 years". When we first purchased the blinds 20 years ago The Blindman would repair the blinds free. Now, they charge a $30 "shop setup fee" and $7 for each tilter, $51 total. If more repairs were needed they would have charged me for each item. These blinds are poor quality. The paint has peeled, they have warped, the color is inconsistent between slats, the tilter's constantly break, etc.. I am completely disgusted with their deceptive advertising and will never buy from them again. We spent hundreds of dollars for each blind so that we would never have to repair or replace these blinds and they have been a constant problem. Now, apparently we will have to spend a ton to have them repaired. We are done with "The Blindman" because they are now robbing us blind.

  • I sent in a request for a repair bid online. My first indication of the companies poor quality should have been the fact that it took two weeks to get a response The quote was higher than other smaller shops but I was hoping to pay more in order to get better workmanship. On the day of the appointment, one person showed up. He seemed like a nice guy but spoke absolutely no English. I couldn't even communicate with him while offering him something to drink. The ceiling had a 4x8 area that was damaged. That's what was sent in for the repair quote. The worker only removed a 4x4 section of the damaged area and then reworked the edges around the new 4x4 drywall, and repaired the seams around the old 4x4 section. The seams were patched and the entire area was textured all in a 2 hour period. He left without saying a word. I was in the other room and came in to check on the project and everything was packed up and gone. I had no way of knowing how well the repair had gone by just looking at it. The ceiling was white and the repair work was beige. I waited several days and never heard from the company - so I painted the repaired area. After the painting, I could easily see the two 4x4 repaired areas. I hoped that it would look better once the paint dried, but it didn't. Not only were the seams mismatched from the rest of the ceiling, but the repaired area was much thicker. Instead of scraping off the old material, the worker added a thicker layer over the original texture - causing shadows all around the repaired section of the ceiling... It looked like a jr. high school project. Shortly afterwards I was contacted by the company to make payment and I shared my concerns. The woman was very nice and said she would have someone come out and fix the problem. A few months went by and I received an email saying that the work was all done and that the bill was past due. I told her that nobody had contacted me to follow up on the project and she said she would look into it - again. A few weeks later I received a voicemail saying that the work was done and that they were going to send my account to collections for payment. I immediately called them back and restated that nobody had come out to look at the problem or even bothered to call me. She finally setup an appointment to fix the problem. On the day of the appointment I opened the door and was stunned to see the SAME worker as before -- all alone. Again, there was no way to communicate my concerns about the ceiling... I called the company, afraid that if he didn't fix the problem right this time, that they would put me through the same circus as before. I asked if they could send someone out who could do a better job or at least someone that spoke english so I could explain what was wrong. The best they were willing to do was have me speak to a women on the phone... tell her what needed to be fixed, and then have her explain it to the worker on site... I told her I was concerned that I didn't know the best way to fix the ceiling and I didn't want to tell them what needed to be done in order to fix it (I'm not the expert), but I can only tell them what my concerns are, and that I was relying on their expertise for the best way to go about doing the repair work. But they insisted that I just work through her by phone... After the call, he spent twenty minutes retexturing the edges and left. Of course it still looks terrible. I emailed them phots (since they refused to send someone else to the job site), and they said that it was the best that they were able to do, and that if I wanted it done any better, the entire ceiling would need to be replaced - costing several thousand dollars!! This would have been good information to know in advance, and something I could have discussed with them, had they sent somebody out that could explain to me the area or the problems and what my options were. So now I'm left with this terrible looking ceiling that's going to need to be taken out and replaced by someone else. Obviously I would never trust Muddy Boys to do the work. UPDATE: One month later... one of the ugly seams has now developed a crack right through the middle.

  • We were very pleased with RC Drywall. Their price was competitive, and they started and finished on time (something that is all too unusual with many contractors). The crew was really good to deal with -- very happy and professional. After they finished, we discovered that they had inadvertently covered our thermostat wire. They came back and remedied the problem without making any fuss about it.

  • We had a great experience--they were on time, the painting looked great, and they did it all within a short time frame. We used them to paint over a badly done paint job and it looks so great. We are very pleased and would definitely use them again.

  • This might be a little long, but a great story of a great contractor. When our basement was flooded by our water softener ( over 100 gallons ) I first looked to Angie's List for help. After reading all the reviews I found one that had the most A reviews and was an Angie's List award winner. Great guy, but he could not even come look at the job for several weeks. ( cost of being good ) Well Jeff referred me to Ryan Cottle at RC Drywall, LLC Note: this is not RCI Drywall
    Ryan was very good to return my call and offered to come out the next day to give me a quote. After he spent a considerable amount of time, he gave me a ballpark price right then and followed up with a written quote that night. First let me say I was impressed with Ryan's professionalism. He obviously knew what he was doing. His price quote was less then the other quotes I had received. He also offered to repair some of the bad Drywall work that had been done by the previous owner.
    I called Ryan to confirm he was licensed and insured. He sent me copies of his license and insurance / bonding information. Everything looked in order so I asked Ryan when he could do the job. He was able to arrange his schedule to start our project just 2 days latter.
    First thing. He told me he would be there a 9am and he was there right at 9am. ( good start ) Ryan and one of his men worked throughout the day with only taking a short lunch break. Well they finished the work in 2 days and he is coming back to do some cleanup this afternoon. I told you he was good. The work was great. I don't know much about drywall but it looks excellent.Also one of the other parts of the house he had quoted me on, was a tiny hole in our dinning room ceiling. well it turned out to be a big hole from a water leak on the upper floor. He ended up replacing a section about 12 X 12 inches. The drywall was molded and falling apart. The insulation was also ruined. I told him to go ahead and do what ever he needed to make it right. When he was done with my tiny hole, I asked him how much that would add to the quote. "Nothing extra" was his reply. It's been awhile since I was this impressed with a contractor. Plus the fact he was referred to me by one of his competitors, says a lot.
    Ryan doesn't know it yet, but I am giving him a nice tip. Not something I ever do, but he was that good.

  • Arrived a few minutes late. However, he quickly diagnosed our leaky rook problem, fixed the problem and drywall at what seemed to be a reasonable price. Great 1st experience.
