Mick and his crew were awesome from start to finish! Mick was very knowledgeable and willing to help us understand everything we needed to know and do to get our new granite countertops. We appreciated his honesty as we discussed our options. We always felt well taken care of and he answered all of our questions. Our counters turned out fantastic and will not hesitate to use Mick again when we are ready to upgrade other areas of our house!

    Aoki Landscaping LLC
We got a series of bids to have a retaining wall, paver patio and pergola installed in our backyard. All the bids were within a few thousand dollars of each other, but our interactions with the contractors were night and day. Joi Aoki and Rita Pacheco, the principals of Aoki Landscaping, are a breed apart. When you get right down to it, the best contractors are those where the price is commensurate with the quality. We don’t mind paying more for better quality, and when we are operating on a tight budget, we want to know that the quality is the best that what we can afford—we don’t want to spend money for a poor outcome. Rather than showing us a half dozen concrete pavers in the trunk of a car, Joi sent us to Beehive Brick and Stone’s expansive showroom; instead of a sketch map of the proposed construction drawn freehand on an iPad, we received a scaled drawing produced with AutoCad; rather than receiving vague answers to direct questions, we got straight answers, including a few “I’m not sure, I’ll get back to you on that.” And they always did. Work began in early September, heralded by the arrival of an enclosed trailer parked on the street that contained an entire Ace hardware store, a mini excavator, a Dingo skid steer and a large dump trailer. Over the next few months they removed about 20 yards of dirt, replaced much of it with gravel, then sand and then pavers. Along the northern and eastern edge of the patio, they built a long, sinuous retaining wall made from blocks that matched the pavers. Then they built and raised the pergola after cutting graceful curves along the bottoms of the beams and rafters, plus decorative ends. It is gorgeous. Joi, Rita and their dog Remy became members of our family within the first week. We gave them a key to the house without a second thought. They were punctual, considerate, industrious and kept us up-to-date on any issues that arose. Joi and Rita are also two of the kindest and gentlest people we’ve ever met. We made several changes during the course of the construction, and the additional costs were reasonable and fully documented. We can’t wait to spend time in our gorgeous backyard patio. An additional plus is we will never again have to get bids on a landscaping project because we’ll just hire Aoki Landscaping.

Joi and her crew did beautiful work. Not only did they build a plan and make recommendations to improve what we were thinking, they built an absolutely gorgeous sustainable redwood deck that is 48’ x 14’. From the beginning, Joi listened and suggested the most aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound approach. She provided recommendations for how to maintain access to a sprinkler box and a hot tub panel. She was meticulous in calculations for size and level, and proactively considered watering, drainage, and plantings. Joi and the crew were beyond professional, but really a pressure to work with. They are considerate, punctual, and communicative. They were understanding and kind about our kids’ curiosity, too! Because of their experience, Joi and the crew were able to troubleshoot sprinklers for us, and even set up our system for us. That was most appreciated. The result is a deck that far exceeds our expectations, with recommendations from Joi on how to protect it well into the future. We recommend Aoki without hesitation and will hire them again.

    Climent Construction Inc
I was very happy with them. I haven't proceeded on the contract to do the remodeling, but I was very happy with the vision he had. He came out. We made an appointment and he was on time when he came out to my home. He looked at the kitchen, he measured some things, and said "What were you thinking of?" He asked me my opinions and what I wanted. He said what could easily be done and what would be more difficult to do and gave me different prices on what could be done and how far did I want to go. He said he would come up with some plans. He sent me a rough draft of what could be done. I have been very pleased with him and I said I would get back to him when some money was available. The quality depended on me. I could of gone for top quality or I could of cut a little money off, but for what I got, I was very pleased. Their responsiveness was wonderful. It took 2 weeks. The best part of the of the whole work they did was their punctuality and follow through. I would tell people that I had a wonderful experience and I hope they would to and they follow through on their promise. I got my monies worth.

The plans were very good and detailed. He was very thoughtful as he considered the historic neighborhood that I live in and designed accordingly. He set the structure with the historic requirements and he was pleased with the drawings. He passed my historic plan and my viewpoint without any major omissions. I am pleased with the garage.

    Teeples Custom Building and Consulting
I found Teeples Custom Builders on Angie's List.  They were absolutely exceptional to work with.  Their professionalism, their timeliness, their attention for detail and eye for design surpassed all my expectations.  They expanded a small Master bedroom and added a very large luxury Master bath with a full basement excavated underneath (for a later den/bedroom) on our 86-yr-old home.  They matched all of the old molding design and doors to make the addition tie in perfectly with the art deco design and age of the house.  They had the experience to know how to tie in the roof line of the new addition and saved me the cost of hiring an architect.  They arranged for and supervised all subs, and made sure the subs' workmanship was of the highest quality.  They always listened to my ideas and worked with me to create the most beauty within my budget.  They did all the legwork for obtaining all supplies, even the extras I wanted.  They were very willing to do additional extras not in the original contract, such as additional grab bars, working with an art glass designer (Peacock Studios) for art deco glass, additional mirrors, upgraded outside stairs, railing, and fencing, and doing other small repairs in other areas of the house.  People would drive by and stop and ask me who was the contractor working on my home, because they could see the quality and care being put into my home.  It is apparent to all who see their work that they care about their customers and take pride in providing quality and beauty.
