  • Unbelievably over-priced! They charge $185/hour for labor and $95 ($89 + tax) to diagnose. The door of my microwave broke last week. I had called Mr. Appliance and spoke with them on the phone about the door latch not working. The owner did discuss with me possible causes of this malfunction on our first cell phone conversation. I asked about replacing a part for it and he had mentioned that the part I needed was no longer made by Kitchen Aid. He stated that to make sure that this was really the problem, I would need to have them look at and diagnose it. Our conversation ended at that point. So, I tried to open up the back of the microwave and found that I didn't have the proper tools to do so. I went to Home Depot and purchased a "Star Screwdriver" that worked. I opened it up and found what was wrong: a small part had broken off and needed to be replaced or glued back on. I looked online for the part, found the schematic and the part but found that it is no longer available online. I even called Kitchen Aid Customer Service to confirm that that part was no longer available. I made "No attempt" to repair it myself but took out the broken part, put in a zip lock baggie and taped it to the top of the microwave. I was referred to Mr. Appliance from a local furniture company in Lehi, Ut. I called Mr. Appliance and asked what the price would be to get it fixed and was told that it would be $95 for Mr. Appliance to come pick it up and to diagnose it. To avoid paying that fee, as I mentioned earlier, I took the part out, put it in a zip lock baggie and taped it to the top of the microwave and had my wife personally drive it over to Pleasant Grove, Ut (a 20 minute drive for my wife) I simply wanted to know how much it would cost to fix that part that I taped on top of the microwave. Mr. Appliance did call my wife and explained that the cost would be about $215 and explained in detail how the repair would be done. About 5 days later I drove to PG to pick up my microwave. I walked into their building and asked how much it would be to repair the microwave door latch and found out that it would cost over $200 to repair. (I had not heard this news from my wife as of yet). I was stunned--I made up my mind then and there that I would not have the oven fixed. When I went in to pick up my old microwave off the table, I was told that I had to pay the $95 ($89 + tax) diagnosis fee. I had never agreed to pay that "diagnosis fee" when speaking with them on the phone and my wife had signed no contract to pay that fee at drop off. When I refused to pay this fee, I was accused of being dishonest, that I couldn't take my microwave, and that they would 'take action' if I didn't pay. I was furious--I left without MY microwave (a Kitchen Aid 20114 model) and drove straight to Best Buy. Considering that is the cost of a new microwave, I decided to simply buy a new one for $185 from Best Buy (total cost with tax was $208.00). A warning to others concerning their "diagnosis fee" on a small appliance and their hourly fee to repair!! I thought if the fee to fix the door latch was around $25-$35 or even $50.00, this might have been an option for me to get a few more years out of my old oven. I didn't buy a new Kitchen Aid (about $450-$550 to replace) but I did buy a great LG Inverter Microwave (10 year warranty). I wanted to set the record straight!!

  • Sentinel Home Inspection was refered to me by a close friend of mine. I can say without doubt that Sentinel Home Inspection is a reliable, honest, and knowledgeable inspection business. Shawn was very thorough and professional when inspecting our home. He answered all my questions and met with me after the inspection to go over what he found in the inspection. Overall I was very pleased with Sentinel Home Inspection

  • We had had a difficult experience with our moving truck breaking down on our move from Colorado to Utah. Penske was very accommodating and hired Red Rock Movers to meet us at our storage facility after our moving truck was towed there. Jose and his colleagues worked so so hard! They were very careful with all items they handled. I was so impressed with their speed, yet gentleness with our belongings. They went above and beyond in many areas where I had special instructions for an item or box. They packed our storage unit so efficiently - I am super impressed. They were very nice to me and worked for hours, all the while, mainting a very positive attitude. I will most definitely have RR movers move our items from our storage unit when we eventually find a home here in Utah. They were fantastic!!

  • We had a tree that needed to be taken down. James went over and above to look at the entire landscaping, provide detail, and give excellent feedback. He’s extremely knowledgeable and his team did an amazing job. Great price. Will use again.

  • I hired John Brigance at Hidden Valley Property inspection to inspect a house for a purchase I was doing from out of state and it was a terrible experience. He furnished me with a huge report full of a giant laundry list of honey-do type stuff. After going through with the purchase and arriving to begin moving in I walked through the home and immediately noticed mold around a loosened baseboard. I walked to a nearby bathroom and again found mold all around the corners of the ceiling and water damage unreported. This mold was completely obvious to a 100% layman like me who has never seen mold in a home before. Beyond the mold I found obvious water damage all over the basement kitchen ceiling and walls which John did not report. I know he wasn't doing a specific mold inspection but If I can see this from across the room having no clue I definitely expect a professional to notice it during a detailed inspection and point it out. I have so far spent over $4,000 on mold remediation and still going. When I contacted John to let him know about these gigantic oversights so that he could use the feedback to improve, he instead sent me a long rambling letter blaming me because he had put on page 99 item 400 that he saw some previous water damage on the window in the room that ended up having mold around the baseboards (and eventually found all through the walls), but that everything was currently dry. If you want a voluminous report cluttered with tiny items like broken toilet paper holders John Brigance is your guy -- if you want someone to spot serious problems with your new home then stay far away from Hidden Valley Property Inspection.

  • Nate was Technician: This service was a re-application of services rendered two weeks prior. Since it had been a while since we had our home treated, they had informed us that we would have an influx of bugs after the treatment. We were more than surprised that our technician, Nate was able to accommodate our request of making appointment earlier than originally scheduled. He came to the door with a smile and immediately addressed our phone re\quest. After Nate completed the outside, he knocked back on door to ask if there were any areas inside that we had concern. Nate is very thorough and solid listening skills.

  • I purchased a Crusader water softener and filtration system about a month ago and these are my impressions: (1) The equipment is top quality, delivering clean, soft water, free of mineral flavors and odors; also free of that “slippery” sensation typically associated with soft water. (2) The owner and technician who installed our water softener both went out of their way to find an affordable, effective solution tailored to our needs and concerns. As a result, we’re left with the sense that Crusader places high priority on their commitment to their customers. Bottom-line: Crusader has delivered exceptional value and service to us and we’re very pleased to recommend them.

  • I called and made an appointment for someone to come out and inspect my yard in order to get a quote for services as requested by the company. That was yesterday, Wednesday the 25th. I was offered possible dates of today Thursday afternoon or next week. I asked for today and was told the representative would be at my home between 1:30PM and 3:00PM. At 4:40PM today, I called the business as no one had shown up nor called to advise me of any changes to the appointment. The gentleman who answered the phone (I was transferred somewhere after dialing the local number) said I was scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, between 2:00PM and 4:00PM. I told him that was incorrect because I have other obligations tomorrow afternoon. He contacted the agent and she said that it was not possible for her to come out and do the inspection today and he wanted to reschedule the inspection for tomorrow. I told him no as I do not wish to do business with a company that cannot do what they say they'll do. If they cannot even show up for an inspection when scheduled, what would the response be if I had a problem with their service?

  • Our tech came and diagnosed the problem. Long story short, he tried literally every possible solution he could work to fix the problem. It turned out to be a wiring issue that would force us to purchase a new door, which as usual, would cost more than buying a new refrigerator. We decided to wait until the refrigerator goes out instead of buying a new door. Our tech couldn't have been nicer. He was always there when he said that he would be there. They only charged us for the visit.

  • Mitch and Jesus were very timely, courteous, professional and great to explain all they were doing. Our home was not pre plumbed for a water softener to exclude drinking water and outside hose bibs so they had to cut a lot of holes in the basement ceiling drywall. They put down drop cloths and cleaned up when finished. If the drywall repairman does as well as the installers we will be very pleased.
