Roofing reviews in Centerville

    Intermountain West Contractors
The overall experience was positive. The materials were delivered a couple of days in advance. On the day the work was scheduled they started a little late however they were able to complete the job on time.
They provided us with different options during the quote process. After we decided on which options we wanted they were flexible in scheduling the work and providing payment options.
The quality of the work was really good. I would recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

The crew damaged the fascia and soffit while removing the old shingles.  They did not remove and dispose all the old shingles and debris. They did not follow the shingle manufacturer's instructions by leaving nails visible in 15 dozen shingles.  He did not provide a warranty as he agreed in writing to do. He did not rectify their concerns.

    Some of the positives:
Prices seemed reasonable (I grew up in a family business that does construction so I was somewhat knowledgeable in this).
Randy Schenk was our project manager and was always great to answer phone calls and get issues resolved quickly.
    Some of the negatives:
    1.  The time between accepting their bid, and the time it took to get started was over a month!  Not necessary.  We almost dropped them at that point.
    2.  We had some gutter problems (leaking onto our front porch) we noticed shortly after they were installed.  The subs HW hired came to inspect and didn't even get out of the car or ring our doorbell.  HW later told us they "didn't see anything wrong".  Obviously.  It would be hard to see the gutters from the road!  HW says they will fix our gutters as soon as the weather warms up.  We hope this is true!
    3.  Three months after construction was finished on our home I received a lien notice in the mail from a sub-contractor they hired to do our siding.  It appears they were not paying their sub-contractors on time.  Even though we had paid them in full, the law holds home owners responsible for unpaid work, even if it is the general contractor who is negligent.    Luckily, I had saved all the closing documents from HW and they had included a lien release that meant we could not have any liens placed on labor or parts used in the work done on our home.  I'm not sure how this would work for homeowners paying through loans or with insurance.  These documents quickly released us from any legal or financial obligations, but I would warn others that Hoffman Weber has financial issues that have not been cleared up with their sub-contractors.  Not a good sign.

IWC was very professional in their presentation and they were competitive with their pricing.  They were persistent in following up with me after the estimates were collected, to let me know that they wanted the job.  Out of 6 bids that I solicited, IWC was the only one who called me back after their estimate to see if they could have my business.  None of the other contractors bothered to call back - big mistake for them.  IWC completed the job to my satisfaction, and in a  timely fashion.  When I needed something, they responded very promptly.  I would use them again, should I need anything in the future.  Great responsiveness!

Bid was very high of the 5 I received.
They never called me back after the estimate was done.  I ended up going with the bid that was in the middle of the 5 I received, as well as the contractor that bothered to call me back.

    MONSON & MONSON ROOFING
I got their telephone number from a neighbor that recommended them to me. I think they are two brothers and it's a family owned business. I thought that they were very polite, respectful, on time, and very pleasant to have working in my home.
