We got a referral for Steve and Bruce from a friend. I contacted them on Monday and sent them pictures of the job. They gave me a quote and then they came out Tuesday to complete the job. They were very friendly and even pointed out that there is a lot of water buildup around the mailbox that may be causing the problem and suggested that I contact the city to have them check for leaks. The work was done fast and well.

NEVER NEVER EVER take your Injection pump to this place to be rebuilt. After they got it from me I had to fight with them for over 5 weeks to get it rebuilt, which should have taken 2-4 days tops. Going through issue after issue with the elderly gentleman(who is the owner and only person who can work on the pumps) forgetting when I gave it to him...forgetting when he said it would be ready, telling me he was licensed and certified by the state to work on them When I brought it in and when I threatened to report him, recanted the statement saying go ahead, that he is not even certified so it would do us no good to file a complaint...even forgetting he had finished it at one point. H*** he even forgot he had quoted me a price. After I got it back it did not work. I ended up having to take it to another shop to have it rebuilt properly.
I will never recommend this place to anyone...ever

He did a really good job.  He did a quality work.  He was up front and honest.  The quality of the work helped me.  He had done some charity work.  When he goes to the drawing board, if things doesn't come the way it should then he does things again.  He makes sure it is done the way the customer wants.  He talks to the customer if there is any process.  He is very reasonable.

Two men did the actual work.  Everything went smoothly and the job was well done. They even came out to do the work not very long after we requested it, which was very convenient, because we were going to be travelling soon after. I do think the price was a little steep, considering we supplied the bricks and new mailbox. Other than that, we had no problems and are still happy with the end-result, communication and professionalism.

I took in two cameras. One was repaired quickly and professionally. the other could not be repaired because a critical part is not available. They immediately called with that news.
Overall very pleased. the price was fair. I rated it B, for good, because it was not an exceptional bargain, but on the other hand, I believe that I got full value for the price and am quite satisfied.

I called Karlo to request a quote.  He drove by and emailed me a quote later that evening.  He followed up a week later with me to get on the schedule.  I told me I needed another week to finalize some items on my end.  Finally when I was ready to set it up I contacted him.  He called me back and said he would have it done in the next couple of days.  The following day the crew arrived around 9 AM built the mailbox, cleaned up very well and were done sometime after 1pm.    He emailed me the invoice for the agreed amount.  I had no communication issues with him at all.  Overall the maibox is good, the only comment I had was it looks like they could have used another brick or two in the arch and used less mortar - other than that great job.

Overall, I am satisfied with the end product but was not happy
with the process and the length of time this took to get the end result.  The
writer also become ill and I understood that part of the time and I had no
issues with the time away while recovering.
What I have issues with is the constant missing of deadlines
that the writer provided.  The writer seemed like a nice person but if the
writer is dealing with customers they need to understand how to set
expectations and if the writer volunteers a date - they must meet that
deadline.  Initially I was told it would take a week to provide me a
first draft.  I had no issues with that and understood they had
other obligations - then when I follow up with an email the date provided
I received a reply they were finishing up - and then the next morning I receive a list of 15+ questions and no draft.  I respond with my answers and apparently that is the time the writer was sick. The writer continuously provided dates and missed every date.  I finally gave up on the dates and would just get it when I got to it.  I was just ready to finish it and be done.  After the initial draft I only had minimal changes but that process drug out.   I only received the cover letter after I requested it from Mary.  In my opinion this is completely unacceptable.   I hope changes can be made in the processes to avoid this in the future.

Rob Hunter is perhaps the most incompetent proprietor of a small business that I have ever encountered. From recitals to lesson schedules, our two and a half year experience through the "school" has been frought with the most basic and insulting of errors. In one end of year recital alone, Ballard Street Music failed to notify several parents of the correct time for the recital, changed days and boggled musician categories, switched the piece of music my son was supposed to perform (the morning of the recital), and then failed to publish his name in the program. Each semester we've signed up, the office switched days and lesson times unexpectedly, moved classes, lost phone messages, made commitments and then promptly forgot arrangements. This has happened with both our children time and again. There are some excellent instructors at Ballard, but no matter the instructor, problems continuously arise through the front office.

Rob lacks the ability to run an operation of the magnitude he's attempting to put together, and is so busy with various schemes and plots, that he neglects coherent and research based pedagogy for children. As an instructor, he's so inconsistent, that it affects the ability of his students to grow. Rob is unable to articulate the details of musical skill acquisition and has difficulty assessing performance beyond fairly simplistic feedback that leaves both student and parent unsure of the direction of lessons. Rob has difficulty keeping student names straight, student lesson progress recorded, and is unable to remember what his students worked on just the week before. Instead he relies on the drill and kill books he sells through his front office. His answer to every parent inquiry regarding lessons and practice is to "look in the book." He has lots of students to keep up with?which is what makes his complete lack of record keeping, lesson planning, and note taking even more difficult to understand. This disorganization extends to every facet of his business.

The reason we've stayed so long with Ballard is two fold. First, and most important, my daughter's experience with a piano teacher, Mrs. Sue, has been wonderful. Mrs. Sue is a truly focused and gifted teacher, and her students blossom under her tutelege. We've had scheduling mistakes, and have had to pull teeth to get the office to do their job, but none of that has been because of Mrs. Sue. Second, Ballard is close and conveneint for families in Wylie, but honestly, the proximity and ease of access isn't worth the lack of quality research-based education and the weekly frustration of dealing with the sort of mistakes that would shut down an amateur daycare. I would strongly caution parents with special needs children away from Rob. While Rob willingly works with special needs children (from autistic children to students with severe ADHD) his lack of training and educational professional development does them a disservice, and his impatience and temper flare frequently. When frustrated Rob is disrespectful to student and parent. When angry, Rob is just mean.

Rob has difficulty dealing professionally with women. While never sexually inappropriate, it has been our family's experience that there is a great deal of misogynistic rancor inherent in Rob's dealings with mothers. If there is a conflict or problem, Rob will only speak civilly with the father, and often refuses to return messages from mothers. There is a dramatic difference when I, as a father, talk to Rob, and this pattern of behavior became apparent almost immediately in my dealings with Ballard Street Music. It seems that a woman is much more likely to draw offensive and derogatory comments from Rob, and when angry Rob has no problem commenting on a student's cognitive ability, and name calling.

This phenomenon is common in educators who lack training and specialty with the age group with which they work. These teachers specialize not in student centered instruction, but rather student centered blame. They have disdain for parents as an outlet to parry their own daily failures. I know, I've been in education for years at various grade levels, and research shows the impact of the worst teachers on developing students. I just wish my children weren't exposed to music through Ballard Street under Rob Hunter. i have also reported this business to the Better Business Bureau of Dallas

I found Beautiful Brick Mailboxes on Angie's List and after looking at the BBM website, I called and requested an estimate. The owner himself came to give an estimate and he was punctual. As I visited with him, my impression was that he is honest and takes pride in his work. His estimate was slightly lower than another bidder. He could have told me that the whole brick mailbox should be replaced which would have been about $750-800, but he recommended repair and saved me $$$. Repair work was done several days earlier than expected which was a nice surprise. I would definitely recommend this contractor.
