I had an excellent experience with Kitchell Construction Company! This was a small job to finish work done by another contractor who did not have the capability to paint what they had built. Not only was R. C. (Bob) Kitchell and his team willing to do the work, they also finished built trim around the garage door that the previous contractor did not. His woodworking expert (Dallas) trimmed in my Garage Door openings with Hardie Board, which is waterproof. The 2 x 6 framing that the previous contractor had installed was not flush with the brick and was already becoming water damaged. Dallas cut the Hardie Board on a taper to custom fit the Garage Door openings to the surrounding brick. They also caulked, filled nail holes, sanded and applied primer to all of the exposed wood. Afterwards, Bob measured my home so that he can prepare a price quote for a full paint job on the exterior to be performed next Fall. In addition to quality work, Bob was very professional. In the past, I have encountered painters who give a verbal offer and then ask to be paid in cash. This practice is very shady! Bob e-mailed me an printed contract with the Scope of Work, Price, and Terms all clearly defined. I signed the contract, scanned it, and e-mailed it back to him. Once he had received the signed contract and half-payment down, I received a copy with his signature in my e-mail. Work began promptly on a Saturday morning and was finished the following day on a Sunday afternoon. I was thrilled to have this work completed while I was at home to monitor the progress. I would definitely hire Kitchell Construction Company to work again in the future and I highly recommend them to others in the North Texas area.

I recently hired Bob to do some work on my rental property in WF. Since I don't live in WF, I was looking for someone I could trust to do the work without my physical presence to check on the progress and quality. It's not easy trusting someone you never met, and only spoke with on the phone. Since I didn't know any contractor's in WF I used Angie's List to help me find someone. It was my first time picking on contractor with no other info than an Angie's List rating, but I couldn't see an alternative. I picked Kitchell because of the high rating, and after talking to Bob on the phone, I decided to give it a shot. I am very happy with that decision. Bob was great. He organized all the work I needed, worked with me on the payment from the Insurance company, and kept me updated with text messages and pictures on the progress very often. I was also pretty time limited as I had new tenants moving in within about 3-4 weeks. So Bob got everything organized and quoted within just a few days. I sent the first deposit, and if I remember right I think work started the same day. I did have a chance to fly in near the end and meet Bob in person and see the nearly completed work myself. I was kind of limited on budget, so there were a few repairs (kitchen countertop and fence) that I did not end up giving to Bob to complete. Nonetheless he went through the options with me for those repairs for different budgets, so I'll be giving Bob a call in the future when I do have the budget for it. Bottom line, I highly recommend Kitchell. If you are in the same boat as I was, and looking for someone you can put your trust in, then give Bob a call.

The work is beautiful. I now have beautiful hardwood floors and updated wall colors. They also fixed a problem with the front threshold and the vanity lighting that we hadn't noticed. They also repaired the side privacy fence that had fallen. The prices were reasonable all repairs were discussed beforehand. Intend to use them in the future for kitchen and dining room remodel.

Very well. Since we didn't live here yet, we left a lockbox on the front door and provided them with the code so they could come and go on their own - we also left a key with the neighbor. The neighbor said the workers were professional and didn't cause any issues. The work was completed on schedule and cost. The rooms look amazing, the ceilings all match and other than a few touch up areas - nothing else needed to be done. Another note - after painting, we had the floors redone as well by another contractor. Since we went from hardwood/tile to just tile, the new tile didn't match up well with the baseboards. The flooring contractor installed some quarter round. I asked Maria on a Friday afternoon if they would be able to paint the quarter round on Monday. She said they were booked up for Monday - but her workers were here at 6:30 pm on Monday night and worked until the job was complete. This allowed us to clean the house on Tuesday before the movers showed up with furniture on Wednesday. She went out of her way to work after hours and provided an excellent product. I would highly recommend this company for a large/small scale job.

Excellent, very professional and reasonable rates. The work was for a rental property out of town in Wichita Falls. The 6" tile I had picked out for the tub surround was out of stock and Bob picked out a 12" tile and a contrasting border tile to go around the tub. It looks more expensive but the cost was the same. He also repaired the ceilings in the den and living room and replaced the floor tile in the bathroom. I will certainly use him again and highly recommend him.

Guillermo Salgado of Fine Paints walked off the job and was paid for services he did not complete. The quality of his work was extremely bad. The stain he redid on my cabinets was the wrong color, splotchy and streaked and had to be completely redone twice. The paint on all the wood work was rough, globbed and so bad, the new painters we had to hire to redo the job could not tell we had installed new vanities and baseboards. His work was by far the worst I've ever seen. In my opionion, Guillermo is dishonest and unprofessional. He acted like we were to blame for his inferior work. A more in depth review including pictures can be found on Rants and Raves of Wichita Falls on Facebook. Just search for Guillermo Salgado, and it will come up.

We hired Guillermo Salgado for a complete remodel of our home. He was hired to do sheetrock repairs, to paint walls, ceilings, and doors, to stain stair railing and cabinets, and to paint cabinets and trim. We walked through the house 3 times before we hired him, and he ultimately decided to charge us by the square foot since we were redoing everything. He initially told us he would complete the job in 3 weeks. That was in October of 2016. He walked off the job, without completing it, in March 2017, shortly before Spring Break. The work he and his company did was sloppy, unprofessional, and unskilled. When he asked me to do a walk through to approve what he had done, and I pointed out things that needed to be fixed, he became angry with me, and he treated me as if I was being ridiculous. The problems weren't just small things. There was something wrong in every single room, on every single piece of baseboard and crown molding, on every door, on every piece of window trim, and on every door trim. He painted over dirt and debris. Nail holes were not filled. Caulking was uneven and sloppy, and he painted over globs of caulk he left. The ceiling/wall cut-in was crooked. I can't even begin to describe the condition of the trim and doors. None of it was prepped properly, which resulted in an uneven finish with multiple runs. The trim looked terrible, and he didn't prep the doors properly. As a result, the paint now peels off with the slightest touch. There was over spray paint on my glass pantry door, on my entertainment center, and on a clock that was mistakenly left on the wall. There was paint on my mantle, on my shower wall, on my fireplace hearth, on plugs, on ceiling fans, and on doorknobs. There were paint splatters on my granite counter tops and my stair railing. We installed 2 new vanities and a new cabinet in the laundry room, which were supposed to be painted. The paint on the vanities was rough and looked similar to orange peel, and I am not really sure what he did to the stain on my cabinets. The stain was uneven, and the wipe marks were visible. He sanded my cabinets with sandpaper that was too coarse, and he sanded across the grain. As a result, he left scratches in the wood. The topcoat lacquer was supposed to be a satin finish. He used satin in the kitchen, but in the master bathroom, he clearly used either semi-gloss or gloss. When I asked him about it, he tried to tell me the top coat can react differently based on what is underneath it. He assured me he used the same lacquer in both the kitchen and bathroom. I do not believe this to be true since there was a drastic difference between the top coat on my kitchen cabinets and my bathroom cabinets. In January, there was a fire inside my house. The fire was caused by a vacuum cleaner belonging to the hardwood floor company, who was there to repair and refinish my hardwood floors. As a result of smoke damage, the ceilings had to be sealed and repainted, and the walls had to be repainted. Before the fire, Guillermo had already painted all of the ceilings, painted two coats on the upstairs walls, and one coat on the downstairs walls. He made an agreement with the floor company to paint kilz on all the ceilings, as well as another coat of paint on all of the walls and ceilings. This additional painting was at the expense of the floor company. After a couple of weeks, Guillermo stated he had completed painting, and he was ready for me to approve his finished work. There were numerous things wrong, and I only checked about 1/3 of the upstairs portion of my house. I gave him a very detailed list of the rooms I had checked. He fixed some of the items, but not all of them. Then he took a picture of a crossed-off checklist, and he sent it to the floor company. He told the owner he had completed everything he was supposed to do, and he was due his payment. This was completely false! The list did not cover the entire house, and the area it did cover still had many problems. For example, on all of the ceilings, kilz could still be seen at the cut-in where the ceilings met the walls and around lights and fans. In other words, the ceilings did not have full paint coverage. After he became angry with me, he told one of our employees he was not going to redo our stair railing. He said it wasn't included in his price. However, he charged us by the square foot because everything was supposed to be included. Even if there weren't so many problems with the work he did, he could not say he completed our job. He left 5 doors and two walls with sheetrock repair unpainted, and he did not refinish my stair railing. This has been such an upsetting process. In addition to the new vanities and new laundry room cabinets, we also installed some new cabinets in the kitchen and all new baseboards and some new crown molding. Guillermo's paint job was so bad, the new painters couldn't tell any of it was new. I am sharing my experience in an attempt to prevent someone else from being cheated. I would never recommend Guillermo or his company to anyone for any job.
