    I had a very pleasant experience when I brought my vintage 1978 Chevy Pickup to Mr. Mac���s Automotive. This truck is forty-year-old RV Pulling Rig from back in the day. It���s an intact survivor with a 454 Rat Motor under the hood and (reportedly) 300,000 miles on the odometer. It has been well cared for, but with mileage like that, it just might not be 100% dependable. The engine starts, runs, and sounds great, but there was a lot of bearing noise coming from the front. There was also an intermittent ���clicking��� coming from the Timing Chain Cover, letting me know it was tired and loose. Rather than take a chance on it slipping a tooth and bending all of the intake valves, I asked Mr. Mac���s to replace it. While they were at it, would they also replace all of the belts, hoses and driven accessories on the front of the engine (Water, Fuel, and Power Steering Pumps)? They have to come off anyway to get to the Timing Chain, so why not? I sourced all of the vintage parts and provided them to the shop. The entire project took them some time and there were a couple of set-backs: (1) The Mechanical Fuel Pump drive rod was found to be sticking in the block so they engineered me a state of the art electric fuel pump and regulator system! (2) The new water pump that I supplied to them was found to be defective. I returned it and replaced it with another of the same type. That one was found to be defective as well! These things might tend to frustrate most mechanics, but the staff at Mr. Mac���s. They took it in stride and were most courteous and professional at all times. My vintage Chevy C10 now runs as quiet and smooth as it did when brand new! I want to thank Dennis (Owner), Nick (Manager) and John (Technician) for all of their hard work and great Customer Service. I highly recommend this team for any of your automotive repair needs!

    I have one mechanic that works on my car. His name is Charlie. Whenever I do have an issue, they get right on it. In having to fix a vehicle with that age, I would give them an A. They had to go back and get a lot of parts from way back when. They were friendly, observant, they would explain it me and then he would pick the phone up and explain it to my husband. They were very informative. They didn't do anything to the vehicle that we did not have knowledge of.

    Everything was great until I needed to use my warranty. I was told at the time of sale I had a 3 month 3k warranty and that if ANYTHING went wrong at all, bring it and they will fix it for FREE. So all of the sudden I have a check engine light, I take it in, and there are several things wrong with it. One was the thermostat and they said they fixed it and ate the cost. Everything else that was wrong all of the sudden wasn't covered at all. Basically told me I was out of luck. I tired to get a hold of a manager or the general manager and was basically told I wasn't getting one. I will never deal with them again!

    Best in town. Other shops quoted me nearly twice as much and "recommended" other things that I knew were unnecessary. Downtown did the work quickly and affordable. And, most importantly, they did a great job. I'm very happy. I strongly recommend!

    Provide great service. This time one attendant wasn't interested about giving an discount (military or card). He stated that I was getting a good price as it was. I didn't like that because they are there to provide good customer service. All other times I do get a discount but not this time.

    Billy is an honest business owner.  This is the third time, I've used them and will use them again.  I had him do the 100K maintenance on my car, and I asked him to change out the timing belt because that is about the time it is supposed to be changed out on a passenger car.  Billy said the manual doesn't call for it to be changed...ever.  It sounded weird, but I researched it independently and he was right.  He could have charged me for some work that wasn't done and I would have never known.  The work is always done the same day or the next and the price is right.

    My car was making creaking and grinding sounds, so I took it to Southwest Automotive. They repaired the bearing assembly, and the problem stopped. They explained the service to me. It was right around Thanksgiving but they got my car in and out before the holiday.

    I had a truck that would just die out of the blue, I took it to Alleys. Three days later I finally called to see what was taking so long. They told me they found no problem with anything and the cost was going to be $150. I asked how much more it was going to cost to find and fix the problem they responded about $300 dollars more maybe. I went to pick the truck up I asked what all they did to find the problem, the guy told me they drove it around, replaced a headlight bulb, and flicked on the dash. I paid the money and swore I would never go back there again! Later that week the truck died again and the battery cables and battery started smoking. The issue was a bare spot on the positive cable that was touching the frame. They never found it!

    I was told by a previous shop, that my car needed a new engine, and it going to cist me 1300 for my repairs. I didn't believe that my car needed a new engine , so I asked if I could tow the car to another shop for 2nd opinion. Billy allowed me to get the car towed To him and he put the cost of the towing in my bill, so I didn't have to pay anything up front. Billy found the problem, and it was not my engine.
