Called and confirmed that they were selling 1 full cord of firewood. I asked if this meant that it was official measure (4- x 4' x 8' = 128 cubic feet) and the person said yes. They delivered while I was at work but my wife was home and she wrote them a check for $275 which was how much they said they charged for a full cord. I have a 11' x 6' firewood rack and the delivery person in charge had a tape measure and measured off what he said was a "full cord". When I got home and measured, what I actually received was 4.5' x 11' with many short pieces of wood, most of which were well under 15" some around 12" long and I took pictures with a tape measure showing what they delivered. Supposing that the firewood was 18" long (1.5'), which it was not even close, the amount they would have delivered would have been 4.5' x 11' x 1.5' = 74.25 cubic feet. I called and left messages and no one called me back. About 2 weeks later I got someone and they said they would bring me some more wood. About 3 weeks later, they brought out a 4' x 4' x 1.5' = 24 cubic foot which is still under the 128 cubic feet for the official measure (see [*** Link removed ***] and they said that is what everybody does.

It went fairly well considering all that was going on at the time of our extensive project. The best part I enjoyed about this company was the people. Theyre very considerate and trustworthy. Easy to work with and extremely polite. We had only one big glitch and it the installation of the Venta Hood. Its outside bantex contract with us and I happened to talk to Terry about how things didnt go well that day with this outside contractor. The next day Terry had a carpenter and electrician here the next day and remedied the problem and we were good to go on with this huge remodel. They have finished everything to our satisfaction and have only one item left and its to redo the electrical floor outlet. This was due to miscommunication and theyll complete this soon.

These guys are great! I am very happy with every aspect of this transaction. Terry was very professional, came out to look at the problems and returned a prompt and very reasonable estimate. He stayed in contact throughout the project and quickly returned every call I made to him. His crews did a beautiful job on everything, and afterward, left my lawn furniture and back porch arranged neater than it was when they came! I already have another job that I will be calling Terry for this fall. Thanks, Terry and all your guys at Bantex!!!

As the work proceeded, Mr. Ruth presented invoices at intervals and each was promptly paid in full. The last work was completed in October 2016 but Mr. Ruth did not provide a final invoice. We contacted him five times (four documented e-mails/texts and one phone call) in January and February of 2017 to request his final invoice. Apart from one reply indicating the paperwork would be available soon, there were no other responses. During this time our property was placed on the market, an offer was accepted and a closing date was set for mid-March. On the morning of the closing we received an e-mail from Mr. Ruth shortly after the signing had been completed. This e-mail provided the final invoice wed requested and notification of a materialmans lien Mr. Ruth intended to file against our property if we didnt pay his bill in full by an early afternoon deadline. Over the course of a long series of e-mails during the day, Mr. Ruth tried to incorporate the cost of filing the lien ($500) and his attorney costs into our total, threatened to increase the invoice amount by several thousand dollars for additional work he hadnt previously included and later demanded a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to prevent us from disparaging him and his company. When asked why he was filing a lien instead of simply providing the final invoice we'd repeatedly requested, Mr. Ruth wrote that he didnt like our attitude and disposition over the past few months. We made contact with our lawyer at that point and set up an escrow to pay the invoice from our proceeds so the closing could complete. Mr. Ruth reiterated his threat to increase our invoice total over the ensuing days and occasionally returned to the NDA after we told him via our attorney there would be no such agreement. One week later this matter was still not resolved, so we terminated the relationship with our lawyer and hired new counsel. On the same day we received notice from Mr. Ruths lawyer indicating that he was now being represented. Our new attorney addressed this situation quickly and decisively, and within three days arrangements were made for us to pay only the original amount on the invoice from the escrow. Mr. Ruth was also advised that we no longer owed him money and any future attempts to charge us for the additional work would result in a deeper investigation of his business practices.

I am located about an hour drive from Chimney Doctor but Mr. Herder arrived on time for inspection and gave me an estimation as to what would need to be done. We arranged an appointment time and he arrived the day of the appointment when he said that he would. He preformed the work that we agreed to and was very professional in his work.

    Mr. Sweeps Chimney Cleaning Service
I called Mr. Sweeps after we moved into a new home and noticed a towel was placed in the chimney and were concerned it was unsafe to use.  Even though it was the busy time of the year, he was able to get us on the schedule within a couple of weeks.  He came out and explained to me that the towel was placed there to keep a draft out.  He also showed me how to work the gas fireplace.  He took a lot of time and answered all of my questions.

They seemed knowledgeable about what the problem however we have had a few problems.  First, they were not here but about 30 minutes.  As soon as they left, the black paint started to chip off the seal and expose the white of the fireplace wall.  I had to call them to come back out and fix it.  They did come back out promptly the next day and did a little better job sealing everything.  However it has only been a few months and now the side plate of my fireplace has come unsealed.  From what they told me, this will cause heat to get trapped between the walls and make it break again.
I do think the company itself is a good company, however it seemed the younger gentleman who worked on our particular issue didn't do a thorough job and now we are having issues again.
