AWithers RenovationsWe bought a house. We bought an old house. And, while the old house was perfectly fine, it needed some updates. After interviewing numerous (count them, 7) different contractors we had all but given up hope on finding someone reliable, honest, and fair to do the work we desperately need and wanted done. Then, we found Brandon. I was armed with a jaded view of service providers (builders who don't need the work will price you outside of your skin); information on what could be done, how long it should take, and how much it should cost (special thanks to my Uncle who is a formidable builder and contractor in NC); and a no-nonsense list of projects. Brandon walked into my old home and the first thing I said to him was, "don't tell me that is a load-bearing wall." He took one look at it and said, "nope, it's not." All of my pre-conceived notions about builders and contractors in the area went out the window. He listened to everything I had to say, and he responded exactly the way that my building advisor (that previously mentioned Uncle) did. He had ideas about how to do things to meet my expectations and his right-hand(y) man, Johnny, was there taking measurements and notes the whole way through. Plus, we laughed at each other's jokes with sincerity. I modified my list and Sharron (his business administrator) sent me revised proposals for the work. All totaled, the price was right on the money - and so was the timeline for completion. From word one Brandon was upfront with material costs, capabilities, and daily goals for the job. He and his team stayed late and went above and beyond to ensure that everything was done RIGHT. A home from 1953 needs a bit of TLC as you work through renovations, and Brandon made sure that we were up-to-code without losing the integrity of the solid bones the house has. As he continued to work, we had to move in. And, just like with everything else we've thrown at him, Brandon took it in stride and worked around us and with us. To date, we are in the finishing touches stage of the renovations; waiting on materials to arrive (that I ordered) and doing the little fix-its that we find as we live in the newly renovated space. I feel confident in recommending Withers Renovations to anyone and everyone in East Texas for renovation and remodeling work. Big or small. Brandon knows what he's doing and he takes a tremendous amount of pride in doing it well, on time, and for a price that won't make you want to throw up in your mouth a little bit. Tony followed up & reviewed all the work completed to make sure we were pleased with the work afterwards. Would recommend & will be using again. We had rotted wood around the backyard door frame & on the roofing overhang connected to the fireplace. His team came out and got it all done in one day. They replaced the wood & painted, looks like new now. They also fixed a 2nd door to the backyard that we couldn't open.- SCOTT R.

AThanks Tony for another amazing job. I had three ceiling fans installed with new wall switches for all of them and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out. Tony was especially helpful and patient during COVID times by choosing carpet for me when I couldn’t get to the store. New carpet is professionally installed and looks & feels terrific. Lastly, I needed a new dishwasher because the old one was leaky and failing but perhaps because of the pandemic all the stores were sold out of dishwashers and weren’t expecting new stock for months. But Tony managed to find me an excellent one and have it installed, saving the day again! I’ll continue to call on Ratliff Painting &Repair for all my home projects.

In the 27 years I’ve owned my home, I’ve dealt with many vendors, some good, some mediocre, but many that were just plain bad. Bob’s experience with carpentry, building, painting, and plumbing is evidenced throughout my home. His artistic abilities make his work that much more special. He has done everything from something as simple as putting quarter round down in my laundry room to managing a major six-month kitchen renovation for me and everything in-between. He is trustworthy, punctual, cleans up after his work, responsible and extremely talented. He will do exactly what you ask for a very fair price and should he believe something could be done differently or better, he will share it with you and let you decide which way you want to go. Additionally, should he find something unexpected behind a wall, he will stop his work to discuss the next steps and any additional charges involved.
