  • I appreciated his humor, intelligence, and personality. He also has a greater dog for his practice and the dog seems to recognize returning patients, which is a nice touch to the practice. I have been using this doctor for 16 years now and am very happy with the great service.

  • Approximately a year and a half ago, I was experiencing some intense depression (later found to be caused by a cholesterol medicine I was taking) that my previous doctor couldn't get a handle on. The other doctor, while a very competent one, was also very distant and clinical. I prefer a more personable doctor. Dr. Tullege simply continued the meds the first doctor had prescribed. During this time, I also lost a deeply-loved pet. Dr. Tullege did tell me it was OK to grieve and that it would fade with time. Once I stopped the cholesterol medicine, through no suggestion of Dr. Tullege's, the depression went away and my grief has slowly begun to fade.

In my initial visits, Dr. Tullege listened to my concerns and discussed the medications I was taking and their effects. He answered my questions and gave clear, understandable answers. I was satisfied with his treatment, which consisted of managing my meds and deciding whether I still needed them or not.

I continued to see Dr. Tullege every 3-6 months. At my appointment six months ago I was considering starting on the depression meds again, but wasn't sure whether I really needed them. I expressed my concerns to him. Dr. Tullege didn't seem to have an opinion one way or the other, so I did not start on meds again.

When I arrived for my appointment on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, I was dismayed at the doctor's unkempt appearance. Business casual is fine, and I was accustomed to his neat jeans and plaid shirt. However, this time it looked like he simply grabbed whatever was on the floor from the weekend and put it on. His jeans were faded and appeared to have a big frayed hole in the pocket area. He had on a dark t-shirt with what looked to be a rumpled plaid flannel shirt over it. His hair was half-combed and the overall effect was slovenly.

More disconcerting was Dr. Tullege's attitude. When I told him my depression was back and that I was emotional and apathetic, he didn't seek any details (form of emotionalism, degree, details of apathy, etc.) I did tell him my thyroid was out of balance again, which might be contributing to the problem. He finally asked me what I wanted him to do. I was nonplussed. I told him that was what I was paying HIM for! We finally agreed that medicines might be a good idea and then he actually asked me what medicine I wanted him to prescribe. Did I want something new or the same old thing? How should I know? Again, I thought that was what I was paying HIM for. He finally wrote prescriptions for the same meds I'd been on, and in a rather strong dose for a starting point. Meds are usually given at minimum doses and then ramped up.

When I asked (and I did have to ask) when I should come back, he said I could come back in a month if I thought I needed to or I could come back in 3 or 6 months. It was up to me. Again, I felt that decision should have been his. I left with the feeling that he didn't want to be bothered and was just minimally going through the motions.

I certainly don't feel I got the treatment I needed. I'm sorry to see what appeared to be a competent doctor sink into apathetic incompetence. My mental health is at stake and I want someone who will listen and then assume leadership in my treatment. Unfortunately, Dr. Tullege is no longer that doctor. I feel I cannot recommend him to others.

  • I have been seeing Dr. Tullidge for 8 years and feel that he is a friend. It's easy to talk to him about anything. He really listens and values my input. He also answers as many questions as I have and explains things until I understand clearly what's going on. He never rushes me and is patient, even when I disagree with him. Anyone would do well to have him as their psychiatrist.

  • I was looking for a new doctor to discuss effectiveness of present meds I had been taking for many years. Due to the nature of what I wanted the doctor needed to take the time to get a good history and ask detailed questions for evaluation. Dr. Tullidge went beyond my expectations. After the time he spent with me I understand why he was running behind time. He focused on doing the job correctly and establishing a good line of communication with me. He is knowledgable and was able to transfer that information to me in a manner that I could understand. I reccommend him.

  • One of the reasons I chose Dr. Tullidge over several other names I was given was because he brings his dogs to his office with him. I just LOVED that. I am an animal lover and just knowing that he felt such a closeness with his dogs made me feel better. One of the dogs sat in my lap and made me feel right at home. At one point I need to crush the pills and called Dr. Tullidge's office to confirm that this was okay. It turns out that they are time released and I was unable to crush them. Dr. Tullidge's office called in another prescription right away for me.

  • I like everything about him. To be more particular, he is very down to earth and friendly. He is very helpful. He doesn't have that typical doctor persona of knowing everything. He is very personable and helpful. He was willing to be very aggressive with a problem that I was having.
