  • Had to wait on parts, but the process went well. Steve is very professional and kept me updated. Price was reasonable for what needed to be done. We have stacked washer and dryer in a very small utility, so it was a challenge needless to say. He and his helper managed through it without difficulty. I highly recommend Steve to anyone who needs an appliance repair.

  • Will was my service person and he was very professional and knowledgable in repairing my gas dryer. He also cleaned ou the lint that had built up inside of the dryer where I could not reach. Will was tidy and neat. I will use ASAPpliance Repair again.

  • The repair was fine but the amount paid was too high. In addition, I had a refrigerator that needed a part to repair and they said they would get back to me as soon as the part comes in and only charge me for a service call. Well, it's three weeks and nothing. I called and text a couple of times and got a response that they were still waiting for the part, however, the last call and text there was absolutely no response from them. I wouldn't do business with them again.

  • Came out promptly, diagnosed efficiently, and repaired relatively quickly. Only downside was the price was a little more than I was hoping to pay. But I wanted it fixed a quickly as possible and so I figured the price was worth the timeliness.

  • This was the second time Tolen had performed an appliance repair for us. I don't remember the exact date of the work performed, though it was only a couple months ago. My wife and I were talking about home maintenance and repairs last night and I realized I had not given him a review for this work, and he certainly deserves every positive review I can provide. Previously he worked on our refrigerator/freezer. His friendly and professional demeanor makes him a pleasure to deal with. He arrived on time and prepared to perform the necessary work. His prices are very fair. We will continue to contact Tolen Hilliard and Appliance Service of Houston for future appliance repairs as needed.

  • Very slow to get the work started. James ended up subcontracting the work to someone else. Due to incorrect diagnosis we paid for a thermostat replacement that made the problem worse. At that point, James subcontracted to another provider. Four visits over the course of a month (without a refrigerator) failed to resolve the problem. He diagnosed it as a blockage and tried to clear it twice with no effect. The third time it worked, but the refrigerant level was incorrect. On fourth visit the refrigerator seemed to be fixed, but only lasted a few days. At that point they (James Archer and the subcontractor) stopped responding to phone calls and text messages. We expected that at a minimum they would tell us they had done everything they could and we would need a new refrigerator. We have been 8 weeks without a refrigerator, we paid $360 for repairs that did not resolve the problem, and we never got closure on the service request. I would avoid using Archer for any type of repair until he fixes his communication issues and puts some effort into customer service.

  • They repaired the ice maker on my refrigerator. They charged for the defective component. Which of course happened to be the most expensive. 

    The price was fair. They did effective trouble shooting and speedy repair. They also had the part on hand, the repair took less then an hour. The technician was good and left the area clean.

  • Showed up on time, friendly, and professional. They had to order the new part because it was not something they keep in stock. They called as soon as the part came in (~3 days later) and set up an installation appointment. They showed up for the installation on time again. Quickly replaced the defroster and kept the area clean and dry. Everything went smoothly and now I have a freezer that doesn't frost over or get water buildup on the floor.

  • Still waiting on Home Warranty people to figure it out... I have to take off another day from work... DAY 3... I could have bought a new dishwasher for all of the work I'm missing!!!!! and almost 4 weeks out!!!!

  • Everything went as expected. They arrived when they said, found the defective element and replaced the next day. They thought they had the part on the truck and it would have only been one visit but they were mistaken. Not a big deal since they returned the next day as promised and finished up the job. Would not hesitate in contacting them again for service on other items.
