    I found Pentex on Angie's List and took my mower there for an analysis. This was a week before Hurricane Harvey hit Houston. So, there was some delay due to the hurricane, but they got back to me the week after the hurricane and let me know that they could fix the leak for a very reasonable charge, however they informed me the smoking would require and engine overhaul which was much more costly. They suggested that the overhaul may not be worth it the cost and suggested I simply repair the oil leak and continue to use the mower as long as it kept working. I found this to be very practical advice as well as complimentary to my budget. Most repair shops would simply push me to pursue the higher repair option or purchase a new one. Pentex has my business going forward. It is GREAT to find an honest lawn mower repair shop.

    Repair went great. Phillip cleaned the carb with an ultrasonic and it works perfectly. Two great guys in the shop. Woman in the office was very nice. Small business. Was done in a week drop off to pick up. They also showed me how to empty the carburetor when not in use to avoid the problem in the future.

    I have a self propelled lawn mower in need of repair. Based on this business listing on Angie's list and on his website he repairs riding and push lawnmowers.  I left a voice mail on Tuesday with his message stating he would return calls either in the evening or the next business day. No return call. I called him a few minutes ago and he told me "I usually only repair riding mowers... you can just put a push mower in your truck...".  Well, I don't have a truck, so I said , "OK, thank you" and ended the call.  Very unprofessional and misleading advertising.

    After reading so many excellent reviews on Angie's List I felt positive about taking my broken lawnmower there. It was dropped off in mid-May. I made follow up calls (none were ever made by company to me) to inquire about the repairs, cost and pick up date. I was told the motor needed replacing and it would be ready in and quot;a couple of daysand quot;. As the days turned into weeks, I kept calling to check on the status of my lawn mower. I was told that they had not been able to find a replacement motor and were still looking. It's now July and I have still not received one single call from them and they4040 still have my lawnmower.
    I felt like the repair price I was quoted ($40 once and $60 another time) would have been reasonable. Certainly cheaper than replacing the mower. I was troubled however, when I would call and give my name and describe the repairs I was waiting on in order to receive an update. I kept getting the same response---and quot;what color is it?and quot; Surely they have a better system of keeping track of customers property than just going by the color. I was never given a reason as to why they didn't try contacting me, or why it was taking so long for a job that should have taken and quot;a couple of daysand quot;. I'm sure this being summertime, they are really busy, but I expected more than what I got. I'll need to send someone over there to pick up my mower...if they still have it.

    After spending a couple hundred dollars elsewhere, only to have a mower that would run once, and then never start again, the experienced folks at Dand S got it to run, and observed a problem. They picked it right up, plopped it on a bench, and proceeded to dismantle the carburetor and make some necessary adjustments that SHOULD have been made by the previous shop's technicians, and got the mower operating correctly in short order. When I asked how much I owed, I was told that I could bring my next problem to them, and they'd charge me for that! So, not only did they fix my problem on-the-spot, and quickly, but also for free! They've got another customer, now, as I will gladly drive the extra 25 miles each way to take my mower to someone who actually knows what they are doing. Kudos to Dand S for being and quot;old schooland quot;, and doing things right!

    They are convenient and affordable. They work on the particular brands of equipment which I own. Their turnaround time was one day. On some equipment it was a little longer but they repaired it according to my satisfaction. I would use them again in the future.

    I drove to the shop, he unloaded my lawnmower, and said he would look at it. He looked me right in the eye and smiled, lol even though he was covered with grease. I agree with the previous submitter who stated it was in a less than desirable part of town. There were already 4 vehicles in line in the U shaped driveway, either unloading or picking up their mowers. I figured it would take about a week or two considering how busy they were. Engines were running everywhere. I was driving home after running a short errand and my phone rang. They said my lawnmower was finished, had a carburetor problem and I could come and pick it up. I rushed back to the shop and started it up before leaving, and it has run like a top ever since. I have started and operated it three times since. How refreshing to get good, quick and inexpensive service!!

    We have been trying to find someone reliable to service our TroyBilt for over a year. I called the manufacturer and also went on line. I finally received a name of an "authorized dealer" in our area but they were only a "parts" dealer. I asked if they could recommend a reliable repair man and they recommended Shane Cox as someone they supplied parts to and believed would do honest and excellent repairs. We called Magnolia Small Engine Repair. They were helpful and courteous, we arranged for a pick up and they came on time. Took time to look things over and explained what the problems were and estimated costs. They kept the equipment a reasonable time, did the agreed upon repairs and serviced the tiller. When they delivered them ten days later (there was a weekend involved) Shane took time to give us tips on operation and care and explained in detail what had been done. Both tiller and mower are working well. (We switched and now take our mower to M.S.E.R. as well because of the quality and service)
