    Watkins Eye Center
Entire office staff shows incredible poor communication skills. We used Eye Care America to cover services for my grandmother. Office staff asked me to call ECA to find out billing info for them. I did and told them what I found out. They said they didn't believe me and had to call themselves to confirm. I spoke with ECA both on the phone and through email. They gave me names of who they spoke to several times to let them know how billing worked. When I tried to talk to office staff they pretended they didn't know what was going on and asked me instead to call ECA myself to find out. It was a never-ending cycle, and it happened about 4 times. Billing was horrible and kept asking me to call ECA myself to figure it out. That was not my job!  It took about 4 months to get everything sorted out. Will never go back to complete treatment because the doctor finally admitted to me that he was not going to cover the charges because he was no longer participating in the Eye Care America program. However he never admitted this to the organization. Everyone here is a liar!

I bought my glasses from them and they've also repaired my glasses.
They're competitive, they're not the cheapest. My wife uses someone else.
They could do better by getting my eyes to where I can see. It's so hard to tell them what I can and can't see. They need to be more informative to their patients and take a little more time. This isn't a fast food chain, this is someone's life. They need to take the time and really do a good job.

Mann Eye Institute and Laser Center
Everything was perfect.  Staff was exceptionally considerate and helpful.  Dr. Mann did the surgery himself.  We were very pleased with the result.  My husband never had a moment of pain.

My biggest complaint was the disregard for my and other patient's time. This place is consistently slow and confusion reigns. On my last visit I waited 2 1/2 hours to see the Dr. It was unbelievable!

Virtually all of our interactions have been great.  Punctual,. honest, professional with positive results.  They offer a saving for lasik plan that is perfect but you have to make sure they administer it correctly and it would be nice if they had weekend hours but other than that, no complaints.

The optometrist seemed inexperienced.  She seems to know her tests, she just needs a little time to become comfortable with working with patients.  She (as well as the front office) were very helpful in explaining our insurance benefits, which are new to us this year.   They were also helpful to make sure that I stayed within the limits of the insurance so I didn't walk out with a huge bill.  I plan on going back.

We really wanted to support this small business in our new community (we recently relocated from out of state). Initial impressions were good... friendly office staff, optometrist's assistant and optometrist; attractive office; and convenient location. Office visit and eyeglass prices were somewhat higher than we'd paid before at Lenscrafters but, again, we sort of expected that and were willing to absorb the difference in order to support a local business.
The problems began when we were fitted for our glasses. The young lady who helped us seemed sweet but somewhat inexperienced. Having worked in an optometrist's office years ago myself, I knew to ask certain questions about frame size and fit, etc., but she didn't initiate an examination of these facets of eye wear fitting without my questions. This apparent inexperience continued with the gals who helped us when we picked up our glasses. First of all, for both my husband and myself (his glasses came in first, mine a couple of days later), they simply handed us our glasses and let us lead any discussion of fitting or adjustments. The whole process seemed to be led by us instead of the other way around. Then, my husband's glasses had a scratch on one lens (why wasn't that caught before we were called?) and lenses had to be re-ordered, taking several more days. My glasses arrived and my prescription was wrong and I had to be retested. I had even stated when I first arrived for my exam that the glasses I had were perfectly fine, vision-wise, and I was only purchasing new ones because they were scratched and the frames were worn. I would have thought it would have been a red flag if my supposed "prescription" differed significantly from the glasses I came in with.
Even though our issues were ultimately addressed and we eventually received glasses we were satisfied with, based on our overall experience, we won't be back and would not personally recommend them to our friends or family.

    1960 Eye Surgeons
I recently had an appt. with Dr. Joel Cohen at 1960 Eye Surgeons. Dr. Cohen is the utmost professional. I felt very comfortable with his exam outcome. He is truly an expert in his field and an asset to his profession. His staff is very professional and the office runs like a well oiled machine. I highly recommend Dr. Cohen for any eye care needed. Thank you for the referral.

    Eye Physicians of N. Houston
They are very good. The treatment was good and she was nice. She seems to know what she is doing. She explained everything and gave me literature on it. It was painless and I was awake when she did it.

    Eye Physicians of N. Houston
Did not receive a thorough exam by the medical dr. I had scheduled an appt with. The technician served as intake and asked questions about my eye health concerns. When the actual dr came in he was in a hurry and did not even address the issues I had mentioned to the technician. Bottom line is that my appointment at Eye Physicians of North Houston was a waste of time and money. This practice is a high volume factory type atmosphere where overbooking appointments is routine and the patients are treated with indifference.
