  • My experience with 21st Century and their painter Lorenzo was so positive the first time , I called and asked them to send Lorenzo out again. Lorenzo is fast , efficient , clean , takes direction well the first time and I didn't feel like I needed to hide my wife's jewelry if you get my meaning. Just a good family guy , native Austinite , working hard to take care of his family. I would definitely recommend 21st Century and Lorenzo for their quality of work at a reasonable price.

  • I have used 21st Century twice now for interior painting and once for exterior paint and powerwashing. The company sent an estimator out quickly and they worked me in to their schedule within a week as I had a Realtor tour scheduled. The three man crew arrived on time and promptly began the prep work and powerwash. The furniture was removed from the patio , planters were placed out of harms way , bushes were covered so as not to be harmed by their mild bleach solution. They even removed my old gutters free of charge which I appreciated as the guy who was supposed to do the job didn't show up for the work! The three man crew worked quickly , about three days , cleaned up their mess and were out of here! I did not have to call them to fix any of the work performed which is very rare in this day and age.I would definitely recommend this company to others whom are looking for great work at a fair price and very little hassle.

  • I needed help ASAP with a bathroom remodel. Eduardo came out with short notice and helped me out. I scraped the wallpaper off of the walls so that we could paint them and it left horrible gouges and rough spots. Eduardo smoothed out the walls , repaired some holes and texturized the walls. He did a beautiful job! Eduardo definitely takes pride in his work. The price was reasonable , the service was fast and clean. I would definitely recommend Lalo's service! I am not easily pleased or impressed but good work and honesty warrants recognition.

                            • Guest Bathroom-While we were on vacation they were supposed to remove the cultured marble shower wall panels that were loose.  They did this as instructed.  However, our house/pet sitter stated the tile guy would only come over for a hour at a time and then leave and also would not come everyday.  We checked in with them via the phone and email to discuss the progress and our concerns.  FInally the tile person showed up the day before we were supposed to arrive and started doing the tile work.  He did not remove the sheet rock and isntall hardy board prior to tiling.  He only put redguard over the sheetrock, leaving the hardy board int he garage.  our guess is because he was running out of time.  The tile work was terrible, uneven tiles, uneven grout lines and then after a few days we realized .  In addition they were supposed to make an access hole for the spa tub motor and pump assembly, they did it on the wrong side and left an open hole.
                            • Master Bathroom-The floor pan for the shower they poured was done incorrectly and had areas that large holes where the rubber liner was showing.  They then did not insulate the exterior shower walls as discussed.  They were supposed to use spray foam insulation, instead they used an R3 value 1/2 thick sheet of foam.  We had them stop on this and jsut do the shower walls in the guest bathroom while we were on vacation for 2 weeks and then come back and start back on the master bathroom.
                            • he left the orange rubber wedges/spaces in before grouting and they started coming out of the grout.  Chris Brown came over wtih another gentlemen and agreed the work was terrible and that he would get someone else to correct the poor tile work.....
                    • In addition-
                                • They never made the arrangements to come back and do the repairs.  We also discovered that they had used our credit card at the tile company to charge things on their account.
                              • Bottom line is I had to have the master bathroom work completely redone and we are now in the process of having the guest bathroom walls demo'd hardy board installed and then tiled correctly.  They charges over $5,000 on our credit card and when disputed with the credit card company, told the credit card company that everything was completely..  We are still working through this in hopes or getting our monies back.

  • We hired Dan (again) to completely remodel our 2 bathroom. They were old and out of date with the tub/shower combination. We had Dan convert these to walk-in showers with benches and cut-outs, along with new vanities/lights/mirrors etc. The results were beautiful and the craftsmanship excellent.

  • Savannah was great to come out the day after I called to give me a quote.  She was courteous and promptly responded to all communication.  She provided some good insight into use of tile in the inset portion of the shower.  Bottom line the tile guy is the one who makes or breaks the job and fortunately FCI hired a good one.  Jose worked diligently and meticulously and the finished product is beautiful.
No job is flawless and so I have to mention that there was an error made in the amount of tile ordered...too little...and so the project rolled over into a second week which was a pain.  I understand that can happen, but in the end the project turned out well.
I would have appreciated the tile guy coming better equipped with bags and such to discard the old materials, versus carrying out a handful at a time.  Also, I ended up putting down a wider, stronger roll of paper to cover the path to my bedroom, versus the narrow craft paper that he provided.  That was my preference but I have a high priority on keeping things protected and as clean as possible during a dirty job like this.  I also spent money on plastic to cover my bed, bathroom vanity, etc.  I would like to see them come in with rolls of new plastic to cover all areas surrounding the demolition area, and strong red paper rolls to cover flooring.
My home is probably on the periphery of FCI's service area-- 35+ miles away, but Savannah was good to make three trips out to access the project and provide a quote, to introduce the tile guy on his first day of work, and lastly to inspect the work when it was nearing completion.
Also, when I found moldy looking insulation after the walls were demolished I took a picture and sent to Savannah.  She checked with the team at FCI and reported back that they thought it was fine and did not need to be removed, but offered the option to do so if I wanted.  So, I appreciate that they did not needlessly seek to increase the project cost

  • Jimmy Hatcher was great. He did an excellent job. He went to us to the different vendors, where he is well known. He explained well all the different materials, like with the tiles and stuff. He came in on time and on budget. He was very polite. Just about everything about him was great. He was excellent.

  • Richard and his supervisor, Maxwell, were very professional in all aspects.  The pricing came in at the quote.  The sub-contractors all showed up when promised.  The work was professionally done. Cleanup after the jobs was thorough.  Communication was never a concern.  Richard and Maxwell either answered their phone or returned calls immediately.  True professionals and a pleasure to work with.

  • Anthony was very good at the remodel for us, we had a couple of communication issues which we resolved out. He was very interested in providing us what we wanted and went to extra steps to give us the final product. I wish I could say the same for the company that did the granite/sink enclosure (this part was sub'd out). There was an issue that came up recently with the sink detaching from the granite and Anthony was helpful in getting the contractor back out to help us (Anthony has since parted ways with said sub-contractor). although we are still waiting for the sub to come out and fix the broken clamp under the sink and reseal the sink

  • grant was fantastic to work with. from his ideas to his knowledge of what could be done practically he was wonderful. he really helped our project get finished in a tight time line and was very nice and cordial the entire time. he is very skilled and instills great confidence in his skills. i wouldn't hesitate to hire him for any job and feel confident that if i asked him to do something outside his skill zone he would tell me so instead of just trying to wing it. an all around nice guy to work with.
