    There are some warnings that should be known upfront if you are selecting this practice: 1. You cannot drop off medical records in advance of a child's first appointment. They are "paperless" and "can't handle" it. Personally I would think a doctor would want to see records BEFORE they see your child for the first time. 2. You CANNOT have access to the late night hours until your child has been "established". That means a physical which your insurance company will pay for only 1 per 12 months (and that is 12 months from the date of the last physical). So basically we have to wait 9 months to actually get my youngest "established" and we, a family with two working parents, a chance to utilize the later sick visit hours. How is that practical? If I hadn't already been here 3 times for sick visits I wouldn't have bothered.
    Since we aren't  "established" my kids had to see a nurse practicioner. She was lovely. However, my son was initially diagnosed with a staph infection and they took a swab to test for MRSA. He came back positive a few days later for MRSA and strep throat. We had a message on the machine (which is fine but really who is at home these days - I also provided my cell, they couldn't have called that?). And when I tried to get the NP to call me back her assistant did and just read from the notes. I couldn't get a doctor or NP to call me. We went ahead and followed the treatment (additional antibiotic cream for my son and prophalactically for my two daughters). Isn't MRSA supposed to be serious?
    Again, I'd probably switch but at this point I feel like I'm committed as 2 kids and 1 adult have already been for sick visits.

    We have been taking our children here for two years. We love this practice. We have seen all of the Pediatric Doctors and they are all wonderful. We are always able to get in when needed and phone questions are handled immediately.

    They are really good at getting us in for sick visits. Their pediatricians are very thorough and very good listeners. The staff is very thoughtful and courteous. They are very good about getting us in for appointments and getting back to us for lab work. We will absolutely continue to see them.

    Our last visit to them was okay. We still have a lot of problems. I was highly dissatisfied on many occasions and I was directed to their office manager since some of their staff members weren?t good about taking people in. They were rude. They refused to give me an appointment and refused to give me information. I had a lot of conversation with their office manager. Then things got better over the last six months. The person who took the call before our last visit said that there were no appointments available. We had to get a physical done and so we had to go with a nurse practitioner. Our doctor then saw us and asked us as to what we were doing with the nurse practitioner. So I told him that we were being informed that he wasn?t available. There are still some issues that they haven?t yet sorted out. The doctor?s assistants tend to protect the doctors. It?s very difficult to deal with them if you get a bad one and they will also not let you speak to the doctor under any circumstances. It?s really unacceptable. The pediatric section is nice and they are fantastic. They are open to communication and you can always get a hold of them when you need them. The doctors over there are brilliant and their bedside manner is very good. The effectiveness of treatment is very good as well. However, I would use their services in the future too since they are convenient.

    We have been very pleased with Southlake Family Medicine. We haven?t used them much, since we are new to the area. We like that they have a large team of doctors. So there is always somebody available, in case we them. All the doctors we?ve dealt with so far have been very personable. They have very good bedside manner. The office is very efficient. There is very little waiting.

    Dr office is highly efficient, but we were not happy with vaccinations procedures. We'd rather delay vaccines, and Dr Nichols was not a fan of this and tried to talk us out of this. If it weren't for this specific reason, we'd probably still go to him b'c everything else was fine.

    You can tell that Dr. Nichols loves children, and is very open to listening to your concerns. He appreciates conciseness, and will give you literature to read if he has a tight schedule & can't talk to you right then. He has had the same nurse the whole time, and our kids love talking to her. Sometimes my only concern is that they will not see my children unless they have a 103' fever. I believe in prevention, so I talk to his nurses more often than not. They are wonderful.

    He comes in and treats the children and is out of there. There have been times that he has spent literally 1-2 minutes with us.
