    Handyman Matters
Stephen did excellent work for our home! He repaired mounting of kitchen cabinet so that it is safe and took the time to insure that the repair looked great as well. We have had a few repairs performed by Stephen over the past months as we have readied our house for sale. He has been a pleasure to work with during a very stressful time. He is reliable and does excellent work in a timely manner. The price is always reasonable and noted up front. I am 100% happy with the results!

    Woodscapes by Jon
I cannot give this contractor a good review. I have had terrible customer service. The roof that was built over my deck had multiple leaks in it and they were asked SEVERAL times to repair or re-do it. It's impossible to get any response back from them. I called in another roofing company and paid (again) for the repairs. After several attempts of asking Jon & Emily to reimburse for it, they agreed, but wanted to pay me in 4 monthly payments. I reluctantly agreed to it and of course, did not receive all of it. So, I'm getting ready to file for what they owe me in small claims court. This was a very bad experience. I turned down two other companies to give my business to them and regret it.

    HLM Painting of Texas
On 5 March spoke with Buddy and explained I would like to have some siding replaced or repaired and one piece of trim work on my chimney replaced and that I was in a two story house.  He said no problem as they go up and down ladders all the time.  Contractor was to show up between 1:00 and 2:00.  On 18 March a worker showed up at 12:30 stating he was sent to my house to work on sheetrock.  I told him I don't need sheetrock repair but I was supposed to get siding repair for wood rot.  I explained to the worker what I had previously told Buddy and that the siding needed to be replaced, a siding piece that needed to be nailed back down and the trim work on the fireplace that needs to be replaced.  The worker asked me if I had the wood and I said I did not because of the length of the wood pieces.  He said he would get the items for $20.00 delivery fee.  Also he said he would try to nail the one piece of siding but he didn't think it would stay anyway.  Worker went to Lowes for supplies and started working on siding.  One long and one short piece of siding was replaced and the worker said he was unable to go up to the roof to fix the chimney trim as his ladder was too short.  The worker cleaned up and put away his tools.  He stopped working at 3:00 saying he had another job waiting and that he might try to stop by next week on the way to his other job.  I asked him to call in advance as the gate is locked due to having a pool.  He gave me the number of his boss and said to remind them.  The worker did not tack down the one piece of siding that I had requested to have fixed twice.  Worker was on my clock from 12:30 to 3:00, not the four hours I had thought I would be provided for repairs.  I did not receive any calls for contractor visits the following week to continue the work and my remaining wood was laying in the back yard.  I emailed Buddy on 26 March asking to have a worker come back and finish up the job as we had time on the clock and he said he would have somebody come out 2 April at 9:00.  I did not receive any further visits from the contractor and did not receive any followup emails or calls from the construction office.  As of this date the work is not completed and I will be getting another contractor to finish my outside work and will pay upon completion of job.

    Dunn Wright Remodeling
Terrible from the start.  We knew nothing about remodeling or hiring a GC. We hired Dunn Wright to work with our Designer to complete the kitchen remodel.  Dunn Wright would not work with our designer and became confrontational, argumentative and not only did sloppy work but would not take responsibility for their errors or employees.  No supervision at the work site led to unprofessional behavior by their workers and damage to property.  Dunn Wright repeatedly refused to correct errors and insisted that all their work was approved by us and we were stuck with it.  One of their workers left a “mess” in a toilet in our house and Dunn Wright refused to apologize for it and never offered to get the bathroom professionally cleaned.  They installed an old door knob on a new door and refused to replace it with a new door knob.  They left damaged “new” installed items and would not address issues.  BUYER BEWARE!!! DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE.  They were expensive and gave poor service and quality of work.  We came away from this experience with Dunn Wright feeling used and dirty.  If there was a grade worse than “F” I would give it.  This is was the most unprofessional handling of a customer as I have ever seen.  We had to hire a new contractor to RE DO 80% of what Dunn Wright did to save our house.  The final blow was when we questioned the final bill and we were threatened with a lien on the house if we didn’t pay.  We never told them we were not going to pay them, we simply asked about credits to the final bill (5-10% off to make up for the bad job would have been nice, any kind of discount or credit would have been seen as an olive branch).  We quickly realized we just needed to get rid of these people as fast as we could.

    Pride Floors & Construction, LLC
Richard originally came out at the request of our insurance company. Two prior contractors had looked over the floors and recommended to install new wood rather than sand and re-stain the existing floors. Richard came out and did a thorough inspection and explained along the way what he was doing. He reported back to the insurance company with his recommendation to replace the wood floor rather than sand and re-stain. Him and his team did a wonderful job of removing the old floors and doing everything to replace the flooring with as limited impact to us as possible. The job from renovation to completion was done in about a week and we love our new floors. Richard had us come out to his showroom and provided samples for us to look at. We were between two options and he let us take home the samples to look at in the home and make our choice. We would happily chose Richard and his team again for another project.

    The Carpenter's Hand
Mr. Jeff Bryson and his crew of Lewis & Linn are the equivalent of the new Mike Holmes of San Antonio. They are dependable, friendly, courteous, polite.  Their expertise in tile work and understanding of bathroom & kitchen renovation is way above any standard I know of.  I could not have asked for a better group of people to work with.  They were on the job every day Monday thru Friday promptly at 0800 hours and worked a full day keeping me advised of their daily progress.  They were extremely polite and helpful when questions were asked.   I would not hesitate to have them do any work I needed in the future as they were all very knowledgeable in all areas of renovation.  I will recommend them to my family & friends needing work done on their homes.  A fantastic job overall.  My previous experience with contractors have mostly been negative but this young group exceeded all my expectations and have restored my faith.  I will in the future continue to use Angie's List as a tool to finding the best qualified personnel to do my jobs and this young group deserve any and all considerations when looking for the right group to do your job.

    Tucks Home Improvements
Having our home listed for sale, we discovered three repairs to be done.  I called Tuck Wednesday and he was free to come Friday.  Unfortunately, by the time Friday came around we had to be out of the house for showings. He volunteered to come in the evening.
We figured it would just be for the estimate, but when we got home after the last showing, there was Tuck on our front porch fixing the doorbell!  (Task #1)Task #2 was to repair the front door which was sticking after being painted several weeks ago. He planed the door and painted the newly exposed wood in a flash. Tuck evaluated Task #3 and felt nothing needed to be done at this time.
He cleaned up as he worked, and charged us less than his usual fee because we live just a few miles apart and he was here less than an hour.
He offered to help with any inspection repairs needed, and we will call him! Tuck is very courteous and personable.
    Thanks Tuck!  Thanks Angie's List!

    Paint Masters of Texas
We're glad we used Angie's List to find this first-rate company! Our experience was excellent from start to finish. Charlie Rakosky is personable, professional, attentive, responsive and has dependable, skilled workers with impeccable attention to detail. We are using our home as a rental property and had to make the arrangements from across country. Charlie was always accessible and punctual in answering our questions by phone or e-mail. In addition to painting, we asked to have all of the damaged and rotted soffit, fascia and trim pieces replaced. It had been a while since we last saw the house, so Charlie included photos of exterior areas of the house that needed repair when he sent the estimate and his proof of insurance. He is honest with his assessments and suggestions, and there was never any pressure. We initially thought about going with the original colors, but we are so happy that we consulted Charlie's color professional, Bianca. Her selections were wonderful and a significant improvement over the old look! Since we were only scheduled to be in town for a week, Charlie had the prep work started days in advance and then had his crew paint after our arrival. He was frequently on site and kept us appraised of the team's progress every step of the way. The job started and finished on time and the experience exceeded our expectations. We are very happy that we hired this company and would not hesitate to hire them again or recommend them to others.
