Window Replacement reviews in River Oaks

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Outstanding from start to finish. I interviewed 3 contractors/companies that I had done thorough research on various sites that had great reviews. I hired Renew not, because of the price they offered but, because of the amount of time that Michael spent with us going over all the options. He didn't try to push anything on us or push us towards the most expensive options. He spent over 3 hours with us thoroughly going over the pros and cons of the different types of siding and windows. The two other companies that came out were here less than 30 minutes, simply showed us their good/better/best and said call us if you decide to do business with us. Everything worked exactly as Michael explained it would. Once he agreed to hire them and made our selections for siding, windows and doors, he told me how many weeks it would be before the project would start and updated us as time got closer. Once the project began, David took over as the Superintendent/Project Manager. Their crews were outstanding the windows and doors have made our home so much more energy efficient (our electric bill has dropped significantly and the road noise has decreased considerably). Once the siding work began, it was amazing to see the transformation of our home. They had some delays due to rain but, they kept us informed every single day if they were/were not coming and the days it did rain, they would even work for a few hours when there was a break in rain. The work was top notch from start to finish. The entire process was excellent! The crews working for Renew were good/hard working people with integrity and respect for us and our home. David followed up to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Visited the job site throughout the entire process and always answered our text and calls immediately. He listened to me and was open to changes of things I didn't like and offered alternatives. I highly recommend Renew Home Exteriors. This is the way business should be done! These guys give you hope in contractors again!! Thanks! We love it!

  • I contacted Mr. Swafford owner/operator of Window Cleaning Service around July 1st. He was extremely cordial and knowledgeable. He was very honest when we spoke by telling me not to be scared or worried by his appearance. He may look gruff but is really a big teddy bear. We made an appointment for him to come look at what I needed done. Since it was close to July 4th we met next day. Mr. Dane Swafford was prompt actually he was about 10 minutes early. I have to say when I saw him he does look a bit gruff but, he had an extremely warm and friendly smile and really is a big teddy bear. Which made me completely comfortable with him. I explained to him everything I wanted done cleaning windows and power washing all concrete and all outside of house. Mr. Swafford looked at all my windows throughout house. He explained he would be using only safe cleaning products. He also may have to remove some paint spots and calcium build up but it was included in promotional price at no extra charge. He also said he would gently move any furniture and place it back exactly in place. We then sat down together and he explained everything he was going to do in exceptional detail as he wrote up his bid. On July 6 he returned. Again he was about 10 minutes early as he called me on his way. He was extremely cordial and professional. He quickly began and was very fast taking extreme care of my property. After cleaning inside he promptly went outside and quickly power washed the entire house then cleaned the windows. He then power washed all the concrete porch sidewalks and driveway. I WAS AMAZED My home has never looked better. My neighbors have commented on how beautiful it is. I will be definately calling Mr. Swafford again for these services and many others. He is an honest and fair person. He will go out of his way to make his customers happy. If you are looking for a really good person to do any of the services he provides and many more definitely give him a call.

  • When I paid him by the hour his work was better. Then, when he gave me hard bid that's when the work got sloppy and he started disappearing for days at a time. His poor time management turned the job into a long, drawn out project; probably one too big for him to handle. Sloppy sheet rock texture, didn't finish sanding wood floors, stiffed me on 2 windows, painted around fixtures instead of lowering them, and previous paint color shows through. He also ruined my doors by brush painting them when he was supposed to spray them; he said the paint just bubbled up. At least one outlet doesn't have power to it. Wood floor was poorly installed. Took 3 different times for him to finally reinforce the floor decking so it wouldn't sink in where the old floor furnace used to be located--for 3 days straight I would come home and step on it to check, and then I'd have to tell him that it was still sinking in. Although the contract says he gives a 1-year warranty, he doesn't honor it, and I haven't been able to get him on the phone since he left the job. Now I have to pay someone else to, among other things, (1) properly float the messed up textured sheet rock and repaint it, (2) repaint, (3) finish sanding the floors, (4) buy and install 2 windows (5) fix outlet, and (6) either have someone strip and repaint interior doors or buy new ones ahead of schedule. What he did right: demo work (but who can't do that!), opening the floor plan, and adding headers and arches, relocating washer connections, some of the electrical. The bad far outweighs the good, which is why he gets an "F."

  • When the first contractor that we hired took our money and then ended up in jail (domestic issues), Terry came in and picked up the job and ran with it. Our initial contractor had taken $20,000.00 from us and all we got were 7 windows, a door, and the concrete pad dug and rebar put in. After waiting for weeks for him to get back on the job, we were recommended Bantex Construction to finish the job. He started the job on July 3 and the last of the electrical was finished up on Sept. 11. We couldn't  be happier with the job.

  • Everything went well.  I challenged the amount on the estimate (charging additional for second story) because the second floor had an outside balcony deck they could stand on- so it was no different to work there than if they were on ground level.
    They removed the extra charge.

  • I signed a contract and gave him a down payment and he ordered the windows. It took a long time but the weather was bad. The windows were $4,950 and the siding was $11,980. It was expensive but it was a lot of work and it looks like they did a good job. I hope they did everything they were supposed to do. I would advise anyone to go over everything in the contract in detail. There was one question about something they didn't do that I thought was in the contract but I didn't argue about it anymore because he said that he had already spent more than he thought he was going to on the job. They were supposed to roll nail magnets through the yard and they haven't done that yet but we have a lot of snow so I hope they are going to do that. The workers were very nice and they worked hard. I would recommend them but with a caveat of going through the contract line by line. I am been pretty pleased but I haven't paid the final payment because they haven't finished the job yet. They were pretty responsive and they were punctual. They need to make sure they read their contracts or change them if they are not going to do certain things.

  • They did an on-site inspection and gave us a ''free'' bid the next day after we called. They were always prompt and courteous. They gave us the best price and stuck with it even when finding additional wood trim that needed replacing. They went out of their way to clean up after themselves. We were very satisfied.

  • CINDY WAS VERY HELPFUL AND FLEXIBLE. SHE GAVE US THE CHEAPEST QUOTE, AND WE WERE REALLY HAPPY WITH HER, AND HER CREW. WE'RE VERY HAPPY WITH THE WINDOWS. THEY DID CLEAN UP AFTER THEY FINISHED THEIR WORK (THEY ALSO DISPOSED OF ALL THE OLD WINDOWS), THEY WERE FAST AND EFFICIENT. ONE OF THE WINDOWS HAD TO BE REPLACED (THE FRAME WAS SLIGHTLY DAMAGED) AND WE DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY UNTIL IT WAS REPLACED, AND WE WERE HAPPY WITH IT. THEY WERE VERY FLEXIBLE WHEN IT CAME TO PAYMENTS AND HELPED US OUT A LOT, BY AGREEING TO PARTIAL PAYMENTS.
