    DAN KEENAN PAINT CO INC
Based on reviews on this forum, I scheduled Dan to come over to give me estimates for interior and exterior painting including cabinetry . The appointment was scheduled for 1:30 PM on Monday 2/19. Dan was in the area and asked if he could come in earlier around Noon. I assenteed his request but told him that he may run into another vendor who was scheduled earlier At any rate Dan showed up and I reviewed the scope of the work. I sensed some reluctance or reticence during our interactions. And a few days later he called to inform that he has landed other projects and was too busy to take on more work. I asked him on how long was the wait. And he gave me some gobbledygook about being busy through June. Here we are in mid February and it bordered on incredulity I persisted and asked him when he will be able to give me a quote. And he said it would take him a week to give me a quote. And that was over a week ago In the meanwhile two others gave me quotes in a matter of days and were ready to start on the job I suspect Dan did not like the fact that he was dealing with a client who makes informed decisions based on 2-3 bids. I dont want to read too much into his reticence but my experience oddly was very inconsistent with the high reviews he has earned on this site.

    CertaPro Painters Richardson TX
It went excellent. We live in a mid-century modern house that needed specific attention to detail. CertaPro made sure this was priority. The crews were on time and politely went through their work. The interior stain work on the doors was absolutely fantastic as they had to match an older color and did it perfectly.

    DAN KEENAN PAINT CO INC
This was a pleasant experience from start to finish. Richard was on time for his commitments from the initial quote (written and competitive) to final walk-through, and stayed in touch and involved throughout the process. His crew showed up promptly each day and cleaned up before leaving. They did a beautiful job on the exterior trim painting using brushes and rollers, and also completed a couple of minor repairs to soffit and fascia. We're quite pleased with the results and won't hesitate to use Dan Keenan Paint Co. in the future.

    DAN KEENAN PAINT CO INC
When Richard first came out, my husband liked his upfront and low-key approach. I found the same thing to be true on the final walk-around. He kept in regular contact with my husband, and we always knew what to expect. His crew were also easy to be around and went steadily about their business. Richard explained exactly what they would do, including powerwashing first. We previously had a powerwashing experience that caused us to have to buy a new window, but they powerwashed gently with no damage occurring. There were two painters on Day 1, four painters on Day 2, two painters on Day 3, and one painter for touchup of a couple of places and a second coat on the garage door on Day 4. We agreed to have the work span the Thanksgiving holiday since we were eager to get started. The crew left their supplies tidied up and out of the way when they weren't here. They prepped and prepped and went through at least a case of caulk. The painting was by hand, and the finished product is gorgeous. We are both relieved to have this finished and thrilled that it looks so good.

    DAN KEENAN PAINT CO INC
From the get-go Richard was personable and upfront. He was our contact with the company and kept my husband clear about the schedule and what would happen. Because we were eager to complete the job, we agreed to schedule the work straddling the Thanksgiving break. His crew kept their supplies and equipment tidied and out of the way when they weren't there. They were easy to have at the house and simply went about their business. The powerwashing was gentle and did no damage -- we lost a window in a previous powerwashing event. They scraped and scraped, used about a case and a half of caulk, and hand painted the house and garage. Day 1 there were 2 painters; Day 2 there were 4; Day 3 there were 2; and Day 4 there was one doing touchup on a couple of places and putting a final coat on the garage door. Richard went around the house with us to be sure we were satisfied; he noticed the need for the second coat on the garage door. I have confidence that their approach to quality work is consistent and would gladly rehire them in the future.

DOTS REMODELING... DEPENDABLE ON TIME SERVICE
Shane was great from the initial contact to the very end. I work full-time so I don't always have the availability to call contractors during normal business hours so it was great to see an email address on his contact page. I reached out via email and we were able to coordinate a date/time a few days later over my lunch hour to meet and discuss the work. I wasn't on any kind of time crunch to get the job done, and hadn't specified a date I needed the bid back by, but each contractor insisted I'd have the bid within a certain time period. Shane was the ONLY contractor out of 3 that delivered the bid when they said they would. With the other contractors, I'd had to follow up and ask for it's status. Shane's bid came in about the same as the other's but his professionalism, friendly manner and that he lived a neighborhood over sold me on his company. The job was expected to take about 2 days, and his crew finished in a day and a half. I was out of town when they started on the first day, but Shane was great and sent me text messages with photos of the work they had done. It was great to see the progress and I really appreciated his communication. The house looks great and I could not be more pleased with how it looks and the experience working with Shane. I would highly recommend him!

    CCS Painting
His crew did a great job on our house! After the hail storms in earlier in the year, our fence and pergola took a beating, but now they look like new. His guys took the time to put things back up like the string of lights on the pergola and they did a good job of clean up when it was done. Would definitely use them again.

DOTS REMODELING... DEPENDABLE ON TIME SERVICE
We got an estimate from this firm about a year ago - for different reasons we didn't get around to the work till this summer. He revise the original estimate with the additional work and it seemed reasonable. DOTS owner was there ever day as were his crews. They worked from approximately 7 am to about 3 pm, as temps in Texas are in the 90s and 100s in the mid to late afternoon. They are reliable; they are prompt; they stand by their estimate, and when possible we were able to talk to them about the progress. We found the owner to be honest and dependable; open and reliable. I recommend them highly.

    Texas Backyard Living
Juan and his daughter did such a Great job. I have had this done twice before from a different company. There is always some over spray on plants and such. I have white rock boarders to my beds and they are still white. Jain is very contentious.

    CCS Painting

I did not find CCS Painting on Angie's List, so I was a little concerned that they were not already listed.  I picked up their business card at a nearby Sherwin Williams paint store.  My contact at CCS was Mr. Kevin Pike who is an estimator and Project Manager for them.  My rating is actually regarding my interactions with Kevin and his nephew, Casey, who worked with Kevin on my fence.

From my first call to Kevin until my fence was stained, I could tell Kevin is not only a very nice man, he is a professional who does not cut any corners when staining a fence.  He is punctual, knowledgeable, very experienced ( he has been doing this for a long time), and meticulously detail-oriented.

I had a new fence installed in September and started then looking for someone to stain it, realizing the fence needed to "dry out" for several weeks before having it stained.  I met with or spoke with 6 contractors before choosing Kevin/CCS Painting.  He stood out from the rest of the pack!  He arrived at my house to give me an estimate at precisely the time we had established.  He measured the fence and asked me if I had a preference regarding the stain to be applied to my fence.  We discussed different stain manufacturers/products, but he educated me about a stain that is made in Plano, TX that he thought would be a little less expensive and would actually be more durable and protect my fence longer without sacrificing anything on looks.  I did my own research after speaking with Kevin and decided to go with his recommendation of Baker's Gray Away stain.  By doing so, the cost of the project was a few hundred dollars less than the other stain I was considering using.

I called Kevin to let him know I had chosen him to stain my fence and we discussed timing.  When the day finally arrived, he and his nephew, Casey, showed up exactly when they said they would.  It turned out to be a perfect day weather-wise to stain the fence as it was a bright, sunny day with temps in the mid 50's and very little breeze.  Nonetheless, they took extra precaution to cover any areas where there might be any overspray that could get on any surface other than the fence.

They used an electric sprayer to apply the stain very evenly.  We lost power in our neighborhood for about 90 minutes which slowed them down, but they were johnny-on-the-spot ready to resume where they left off the instant the power was restored.   My fence has steel posts supporting it, and they were meticulous in keeping the stain off the posts.  To make sure the top of the fence was stained, Kevin stood on a ladder and used a midget roller and cloth to apply the stain and wipe it in evenly.  The fence was stained thoroughly from top to bottom!  The color we chose looks fantastic, and we have already had neighbors comment on how nice our fence looks.

We could not be more pleased with the work that Kevin and Casey did for us.  Their quote was neither the highest nor the lowest we got, but I feel certain the quality of the work they did was superior to the work that would have been done by any of the other contractors with whom I spoke.  I could tell from the get-go that Kevin knows his stuff and that he is a man of integrity and just a good guy with whom to do business.  I will call him the next time I need any painting, power-washing or staining done!!
