Pet Care & Health reviews in Richardson

Groomer was very nice. Had a caring attitude to both my dogs. Front lobby was clean. As for the grooming I forgot their hypo-allergenic shampoo and the groomer said that is an extra charge. Both dogs faces and muzzles were not well clipped. They were only there a couple of hours and that was good. Felt the price was a little high for the job they did.

Not the cheapest, but definitely the best. Takes immaculate care to keep the puppies disease free and spends personal time with them to make sure they are fully socialized. Has an excellent breeder program to ensure good gene matching and minimize health issues. Excellent follow-through and support after the sale. If you want puppy mill pricing, this is not the breeder for you, but you get what you pay for. We went to my daughters home for a 4th of July barbecue and met a couple who had 2 Havanese, one of whom they purchased from a puppy mill for almost half the price they paid for the other and they say that was a huge mistake, as there is no comparison between the two. I understand there are 5 breeders in the group. I only dealt with Lola and Lora and can attest their operation is the opposite of a puppy mill. Our new little Havanese is perfect in all respects and we are very glad we based our purchase of this long term commitment on the breeder's reputation, rather than price. I was a little skeptical when Lola recommended not de-worming at 8 weeks as they go to great lengths to avoid this issue, so I made sure our vet tested for worms. Lola was right. All puppies sold by them come with micro-chip, initial puppy shots, a notebook with information about your puppy, and a collar with a bell attached, which turned out to be much more useful for our tiny little puppy than I would have anticipated. They make you feel absolutely welcome to drop by and visit your puppy while he is being weaned. They send you some professional photos of your puppy the week before you are scheduled to pick him up.

I have nothing but great things to say about Wendy! My dog is a bit high maintenance and is very particular with who is allowed to be around him. Wendy and Savannah came in with understanding, patience, and experience. I first called in a panic, needing her just two days later. She and Savannah came the very next day for a meet and greet, and the rest is history! We’ve been using them ever since, normally being gone from 7 to 10 days. Great communication, dependable, and my grumpy elderly puppy actually gives them kisses!

The Vet misdiagnosed & mistreated our Kitty. After multiple night visits (a total of six nights) - two separate visists - it was apparent that this Veterinarian Office was lacking concern for our cat's declining health. They also charged for items they said they would not. We paid for multiple blood tests and xrays that were not necessary. After the second extended overnight stay we took the Kitty to a different Vet where she was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor. Because of this Vet's misdiagnosis; we missed out on the last few remaining days with our Kitty. She lay in a cage at Animal Medical Center of Richardson for three days and they did not even know she had a broken foot. It wasn't until they took her out of the cage as they were preparing her to be released did they notice her bloody foot which was noticeably swollen. She also had a very high fever which was partly due to her pain. Our pain in our heart is knowing she was dying, sick and in extreme pain under Veterinarian care and they did NOTHING - but our final bill was over $1600.00 at this one Vet. They were not willing to work with us on the charges or overcharges at all. PS Our Cat had been going to this Vet for several years!!!! Our precious Sasha passed way 3/13/17, thirteen days after we took her to Animal Medical Center of Richardson. By the time she got to the Vet who diagnosed her correctly, she was too sick to survive surgery......

We just completed a week long pet sitting service with Jill and cannot say enough good about her care of our dogs. Super detailed, great communication updating with every visit, and took it to the next level dealing with some health issues with an elderly dog. We will definitely be hiring her and Erik again. Absolutely recommend!

Brian did a great job! Beau has never listened or behaved so well in his entire life. I'm finally getting a good nights sleep without interruption to go outside. Brian has/is doing what anyone that knows beau thought was impossible.

They are wonderful people. All 3 vets are really wonderful. They do really well with the animals. The people who work in the office are really nice and very helpful. I've gotten excellent service from them. I have no hesitation taking my dog into them because they are all animal lovers.

It's a pretty good deal. To use them you really need to know what you're doing, to be taking care of your animals. I have a Petco close to me and they show up at Petco on Saturdays for three or fours hours. You need to get there early because there is going to be a long line. You go up there and get the shots and all the things that your dog needs. That's the thing, you need to know what your dog needs. The shots barely cost more than they would cost if you buy them. You could go to Tractor Supply or a feed store and buy all these shots that you need to administer to your dog. They just add a couple of bucks to the price that you would pay anyway and they would do it for you. They will do the heartworm tests and some of those things that you wouldn't do.

I'm totally happy. If I wasn't, I would go somewhere else. They're right in the ballpark with everybody else. They did exactly what I expected. They did a good job, I didn't have any problems. The office is very nice and clean. The staff is courteous.

After adding a 3rd dog, my twice daily dog walks were out of control. My new rescue had zero leash manners, a high prey drive, and was dog reactive. After he tried to bite several of my neighbors dogs, I called Brian. I have all 3 dogs working through his 12 week program, and at the halfway point, they’re completely different dogs. We still have a lot to learn, but for the first time since we began, I was able to walk all 3 calmly in a heel, followed by a loose leash walk so they could take care of business. Wow! This isn’t treat based, 100% positive, begging your dog to do what you want, training. Positive training is fantastic – until someone gets bit or your dog runs in front of a car. Learning boundaries and “no” matter. I knew all this going in – but never took the time to do the work. With 3 dogs, I didn’t have that luxury anymore. Brian lets them know he’s in charge, but also tempers his approach based on each dog’s personality. My new dog is insecure and reactive, and Brian changed his manner significantly to accommodate that. He not only walks you through exactly what you need to do, but provides fantastic tips and tricks when you run into problems. I can’t recommend him enough!
