Appliance Repair reviews in Richardson

My story is basically the same as all of the other terrible reviews I have read about Lake Area Appliance Service : a HORRIBLE experience and no resolution. Our dishwasher recently stopped working (water wouldn't drain), so I called AHS to have someone come out, and they sent someone from this company. The guy spent a total of about 10-15 minutes at my house, and all he did was open the dishwasher, looked inside, and somehow determined (through a sixth sense, I suppose) that the main control board and pump were shorted out and that the motor was rusted. Those are all lies, since the dishwasher still powers on and runs fine (it just won't drain the water). As for the motor being "rusted" and his claim that he found a lot of rust on the bottom of the dishwasher, those are all false also. He never pulled the dishwasher out to examine anything, and I'm not a dishwasher "expert", but I DO have common sense, and I know I can make a pretty accurate assumption that you simply cannot diagnose a rusted motor without removing the standing water and disassembling certain parts to get access to the motor. Of course, just like with the other negative reviews, AHS refused to repair the dishwasher, claiming "the conditions were not normal wear and tear" and even cited "sitting in standing water" as the cause for the rust that was apparently found on the motor and underneath the dishwasher (and ultimately the supposed cause of the malfunction). I can't imagine they think I'm that dumb and that I wouldn't realize that what they claim is ridiculous. The dishwasher stopped draining water because either a part malfunctioned (drain valve, pump, etc) or because of a blockage somewhere. Why he didn't think to take out the water and check the filter or the hose or garbage disposal for blockages FIRST is beyond me. They ended up blaming me for the malfunction, as if I could somehow purposefully and negligently leave standing water in the dishwasher. The way he went about "diagnosing" is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE, UNPROFESSIONAL, and LAZY. They're doing to me what they have done to SO many other people, and they need to be stopped. AHS continues to defend them, and quite frankly, it doesn't make sense to me why they would continue sending out this company after all of the bad reviews. They are the WORST company I have ever dealt with, and I will make sure everyone knows that they are scamming people!

I called first thing this morning for an appointment, and the job was completed before noon. Jeremy arrived timely and was very pleasant, professional and efficient. I most definitely will use this company again and would highly recommend them! And if you're lucky enough to get Jeremy as a serviceman, well, there's your bonus!

Glenn Townsend - Glenn's Appliance Repair
Except for being two hours late, it went very well. The oven door would not detach as it normally should have but Glenn knew what to do and took the door apart and then quickly repaired and reattached it. He also knew how to repair the refrigerator and did so without any problems.

The technician arrived at the agreed upon time and got to work. He discovered relatively early that the problem was a crack in the wash drum and put together an estimate that he recommended not taking because of the expense. The cost to repair would have been more than 3/4 the price of a new machine. The service charge for the news that I needed a new machine was a reasonable price to pay to feel comfortable with the diagnosis.

I've had them twice, both times for dishwasher repair. They were absolutely wonderful, and I really do appreciate their feel because they have everything down you know exactly what you paid for everything and I was very pleased about that.

He advised what the cost of needed parts & repairs would be given the age of my appliance, & that the costs would be too much given the age of the appliance. Appreciated his honesty & professionalism.

I originally called them out to fix my oven which had stopped working after an automatic clean cycle. They took care of that problem and gave me some good advise on potential problems caused by the cleaning cycle. While they were here, I asked them to take a look at the my gas cook top which had one burner that would not light without a match. The switch harness had to be replaced for all 4 burners. They ordered the part, came back to install it, and solved the problem. Seventeen months later, everything is still working fine. I would definitely use them again.

    E & M Home Service
Requested service to be done however the technicians for an LG refrigerator repair were booked up for the next 2 weeks. Despite not being able to come out and look at it, E&M were very helpful with suggestions on how to troubleshoot it based on the error code i gave them. Their response and professionalism was top notch! I eventually went with someone else due to the availability issue but I would go with them next time if something comes up.

I made arrangements to leave work early so that someone would be home for the technician. I spoke with Bobby yesterday regarding this service appointment and was told someone would be here at 3:30pm. I've been waiting over 2.5 hours and no one has shown up I have tried calling twice with no answer and left two messages. No return call. Very unprofessional would not use them again. I will be finding a different company to come and repair my oven.

Fine. I knew the drill since I'd done similar work before. Even though the Oven is no longer available they found the fitting Fan, ordered it, installed in. Works just fine. (Saved $4000 - the cost of a new double over under oven.)
