Medical Specialist reviews in Pflugerville

I had an awful experience with Baylor, Scott and White Health in Pflugerville. I had an appointment to request a prescription for birth control. I arrived and was seen relatively quickly. My appointment lasted 15 minutes. The appointment was rushed and the physician seemed disinterested and did not have an overly friendly bedside manner. However I left with the prescription I requested. Upon paying I was informed by the front desk associate that they were charging me my $30 co-pay, and that the remainder of the bill was covered by my insurance.

Three weeks later I received a bill from BSW. They billed me for the portion of the visit that was to be covered by my insurance provider (the portion I was told by the front desk girl was covered by insurance). I contacted my insurance provider and was told that yes, they (insurance provider) would cover that portion of the bill, however BSW had billed my visit as an outpatient hospital visit instead of an office visit (for a 15 minute appointment for birth control). As a result of the way BSW billed my insurance, my insurance would not pay. I was told to request from BSW that they rebill my insurance clarifying it was an office visit rather than an outpatient hospital stay and therefore covered by my insurance. I called BSW and requested this. The woman who I spoke with on the phone informed me that she would resend a request for a corrective bill to the physician.

I waited another 4 weeks and yet again received a bill from BSW for the entire portion of the bill. I called my health care insurance provider and was once again told they would cover the bill if BSW would bill them properly. Again I attempted to contact BSW, however the associates that work there seem hopelessly uninformed, disinterested and unhelpful.

I would not recommend that anyone go to BSW due to the horrible headache they gave me with the bill, their refusing to properly bill my insurance company, the misleading information provided by them and the unfriendly and disinterested physician.

I use them all the time. Things are going really good. They take care of all of the veterans out there. They do just about everything. What they can't do they send to Temple to do. We are getting a new hospital out here so we will have more services. It takes too long to get an appointment, for one thing, and they don't really have enough time, it seems like to me, to get me in. If I go to see the primary doctor I've got to get my appointment and sometimes it is 30 to 45 days later. Sometimes I have three or four appointments and they have them scheduled out over a week instead of doing them in one day so I have to make three or four trips out there to get things done. The office environment is excellent. My doctor is real good, she listens. The last time I saw her I had three or four things to look at and she got them scheduled to be looked at, but sometimes it is three or four months later before they look at them.

I got my foot rewrapped. The good doctor also gave me some free medicine samples for pain. That medicine was NOT covered by my insurance. He also gave me some medicine for my toes. He did answer all my questions.

He is great. They are just really friendly, warm and personal. We walk in and they acknowledge you and ask you if you need anything besides just sitting there waiting for him to come and call you. When you are in his office he calls you the next morning around 7 o'clock to be sure that whatever medication he gave you or whatever he told you to do is working. He is old school, the new medical people don't believe in that.

I have used him for 20 years. I think he is wonderful! He truly listens to you. Sometimes I go in with a list and sometimes he will take the list from me. He will go over all of my questions. He really takes the time. He is very down to earth and explains everything. The staff is all really friendly. He is hardly ever late!

I really like him. He takes a lot of time with you whenever you go see him. He is really super nice and soft-spoken. We have been seeing him for a long time, and he will send you to a specialist if need be.

I was scheduled very efficiently by his staff for a follow up endoscope exam. I had to wait for a few minutes in the waiting room for an available assistant as all phones were busy but they came and got me without any prompting from myself. I also had my young grand-daughter with me. The office is not equipped for young children (given the age of likely patients this is not surprising). As we waited for the scheduling assistant, the check out assistant handed me a children's book for me to read to my grand-daughter. It was bit old for her (she is 20 months) but the offer was much appreciated.

Overall the experience has been positive. I've been going to him for quite a few years. My former girlfriend went to him for 10-15 years. I like him. Generally I can get in pretty quickly to see him. I like his nurse. I generally haven't had any complaints about the billing staff. I haven't had any problems. He is pretty punctual.

This man is awful and cruel and weird about his ex-wife. He did send me for specialized physical therapy, which was very helpful, but the physical therapist described a very weird exchange with Dr. Buten also and said many of her patients complain about him.
I had weekly cycles for three years, massive headaches, years of odd paps, and painful s**. After a gyno exam, he announced there was nothing wrong with me. Hu? Then he asked me a thousand questions about my mother's death years earlier and announced that I was just like his ex-wife and had a severe case of depression coupled with a and quot;lack of motivation.and quot; He sent me home with some antidepressants and told me to come back in to for a mental health evaluation in a month. He reported he could help me just like h e had helped his x with her mental issues. How could he see my brain with his gyno equipment?
I did follow up with more appropriate doctors regarding the mental health accusation and none could support his diagnosis of depression. I have been accused of over-working myself before but I have never been accused of having a lack of motivation and I have no idea how he could determine anything about my motivation levels from his vantage point.
It was, hands down, the weirdest exam and exchange I have ever paid for.

We were able to get an appointment right away. The staff was wonderful! We had to schedule surgery for him and all of that went smoothly. I highly recommend this practice, especially Dr. Zapata.
