FArocha Design BuildStarted off good then one worker would come do something. Two weeks later one more worker would come do something. This continued for months and months. Our hall bathroom was to be totally remodeled and it was unusable for 3 months. The other existing bathroom was not touched except to cut a square hole to repair yet another plumber screwup. Four different plumbers have been here to work, with one problem after another. No water after facets in shower installed. Had to tear into new wall to see that it was not installed correctly. Then no hot water when water turned on. The new plumbing was not connected to the main hot water line. They had to run a line through the attic across the entire house to the hot water heater. Had four different tile installers. Three different electricians. Framers had plugged in a air compressor and blew our entire outside wall of outlets. Two of his electricians could not figure out what was wrong. After months of these not working we called an electrician last week and the problem was just a lose neutral in one of the outlets. He also found the new lines ran to the breaker box were not made up just curled up inside breaker box.
We were so excited when we first started this project and it has turned into a nightmare. His website was just wonderful and he came across very knowledgeable. He represented himself as a fine Christian man, but he was nothing but a thief and should be in prison. He will keep doing this to other people. He had no intention of ever finishing when he started this project. The list goes on and on with not seeing or hearing from him for weeks at a time. Again, PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR!

CArocha Design BuildKnocked down 1 brick wall and never showed back up. We have tried to contact him for over 2 weeks. We have an outline of the project and we have been contacting him trying to get him to come out finish our renovation. The last time he contacted me was last Thursday when he told me was going to send someone to come work on it. He never sent anyone and its been almost two weeks since the wall has been knocked down. Its been raining and we live in an area where there are mice and rats. The last thing I want is the mice and rats in between my walls. He had bought wood which was left out in the rain for weeks - completely warped. Its been over a 5 week job. We've lost $8,400.- Louis G.

FHandyman For HireAfter meeting with Micah Duncan, my husband discussed at length the deck project he wanted done and very specifically how he wanted it done since my husband was leaving for work in Brazil and would be unable to complete the project himself. The written bid was for continuing and finishing the deck, construct a 16'x32'x52' above ground pool-setting the inside and outside pool stairs, constructing a 2'x2' bench alongside the pool and to make all electrical connections. He informed us that we would need to buy $1,300 more lumber to finish the project, which we did.
The project was not finished in the time frame that he promised. He and his crew worked 1-2 hours per day on most days, failed to show up when he said he would and finally put it two full days of work when the project was past the promised date. "I actually kept a record of the hours worked.)
On Thursday May 3rd, he said he was finished and upon inspecting the deck, I discussed with him that the work was unacceptable because there were large gaps in some boards ( up to 1") and other boards that were not spaced at all and would cause them to buckle. He was very patronizing and told me he didn't know what I expected, gave several excuses and repeatedly said he didn't want me to be unhappy with the finished product but did NOTHING to correct it. He then spoke with my husband via telephone, who was at work in Brazil, and my husband was very forthcoming in what he expected and what he did not want to be done. He did exactly what my husband told him we did NOT want done and used 1x4 boards as "trim" to cover the 1-2" gaps between the walls of our house and the deck, also used a 1x4 as a sill plate instead of building one like my husband told him to and laid a LARGE 1x4 across the center of the deck to cover any mistakes or flaws in his work.
He informed me that there was nothing more that they could do until the pool was halfway full and told me that he needed payment for his crew, he did discount the amount by $200 on the bid to build the benches, and to call him when the pool was halfway filled and they would come back to finish their work.
The following week, the deck boards were buckled in several places, bowed in several places and upon further inspection by a different contractor, he believes this is due to the fact that they were not spaced correctly and that each 6' board was not secured properly. Most boards were secured with only one screw on each end. This poses a SIGNIFICANT hazard not only to myself, but also to my children and any guests we have.
I have tried to reach him for a couple of weeks now via telephone, left messages and requested return phone calls in order to refund the amount paid for the work he did not do AND to correct the problems with the deck, I have heard nothing from him.I would NOT recommend this man at all. I am highly dissatisfied and have already filed a BBB complaint.- John M. -
