  Howard arrived in a timely manner, and then he immediately started working on our trees. He also did a good job at educating us about the carpenter ant problem that we are experiencing with our trees. He encouraged us to use his services to ensure that the trees remain properly groomed, so that the carpenter ants do not spread to other trees and vegetation. He agreed to groom the trees that were in the way of the cable guy's ladder and then bundle and tie them by the street so the city will take them when they collect our trash. After he finished, the cable guy was able to connect our internet which was the sense of urgency behind hiring him. 
  He did a great job on the first Crepe Myrtle, but with each tree, he seemed to slow down and become less precise. He took all day to do a job that I feel could have been completed in about 3 hours. He also took several breaks where he sat around and drank powerade bottles and made and received calls on his cell phone. Howard is a one guy operation, so I was a little lenient on the cell phone usage at first, but as the day became later and later, I become more frustrated. I thought many times, if he would just stay off his phone and complete the work then, I could move on to other home projects that need to be accomplished today on my day off from work. 
  While Howard did bundle the trimmings, he did not tie them. This became an issue as the city quickly issued me a code violation since they were unable to collect the brush. I messaged KNI on facebook, and Howard's wife informed me that he would make it right by hauling off the waste for a discounted price. Days went by as Howard never showed up to pick up the yard waste. I messaged them again on FB, and found them to be mostly unresponsive. His wife insisted that he will take care of it, but right now he's having a busy week. I messaged them again over the weekend, and they didn't even bother to read my messages. 
  It's a shame that KNI didn't take care of the yard waste, because I had intended to make Howard my landscaping guy. I can't do business with people that don't follow-through especially when I have the city riding me to take care of his mess.

  Sanders Mowing

  I had a problem with payments to this provider.  At his request I left payments by check under my door mat.  He mowed on April 14 and I received a text from him that the check had become wet and he needed a replacement check.  I provided the replacement check the same day.  A few days later I noticed on my bank statement that he cashed the check that he said was too wet.  I texted him to ask if he still had the replacement check and he told me he shredded it.  However the next time I reviewed my bank statement I saw that he cashed the replacement check on the same day he told me he shredded it.
  
  When I texted him and asked for an explanation he wrote "it said it cashed it for $40?"  I asked him to either provide another mowing or return the extra payment.  He mowed several days later.  I don't think I should have had to ask him to remedy the situation; he should have offered, and an apology would have also been appropriate.  I am now using a different lawn care provider.
