    Enterprise Rent-a-Car
    I rented a minivan from Enterprise Rental-a-Car online Saturday, July 1st, 2017 @ 8:48am for: Location: Montgomery Date & Time: Tuesday, July 25th, 2017 @ 8:00am Address: 13662 Hwy 105W Conroe, TX 77304 Phone: 936-588-0969 I had called 2 weeks in advance to find out what I needed to do to make sure that we did not end up with a Dodge Caravan for the 13day cross-country road trip (we had rented one before and the seats we very uncomfortable and we didn���t want to do that again.) The gentlemen I spoke with at the location said to book at least a week in advance and then to call him with my confirmation number and he would ensure we did not end up with that vehicle. We booked 24days in advance and called up there periodically to make sure everything was set for our trip on the 25th. I called the week before the trip and was told they still had no clue what type of mini-van it would be but that it wouldn���t be the Dodge Caravan, I asked if I should call back Saturday and he said sure, not informing me that they were closed on weekends. So I called back on Monday 24th, day before we were to pick up and they still didn���t know what car they would have available for us the next day, was a bit unsettled by this considering we were to pick it up in less than 24hrs. My husband went to pick up the car Tuesday morning 8am, July 25th, 2017. They had a Chrysler Town & Country for him to take (which is their version of a Dodge Caravan) he was hoping for something different but looked around the lot and didn���t see any other minivan options so took it home to begin packing it. Upon arriving home with the vehicle noticed the following: 1. After hosing off the dirt that was caked on the tires that the front 2 tires were bad, threads worn down. 2. All 4 tires were dangerously low pressure. 3. Vehicle was full of dog hair, dirt & candy stuck to seats and carpeting. 4. Blood in back of vehicle which looked to be from a dog in heat. 5. Also they had given him the van with only �� tank of gasoline. 6. Vehicle alignment was off and pulling hard to the right. When I got off work and we finished loading up the car I learned that my husband and son had spent the day cleaning this disgusting van and airing up the tires which should have been handled by the company. I emailed enterprise on my husband���s behalf on our way out of town. (Tuesday, July 25th, 2017) I received the following email response: Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent experience with us. Your message and information have been sent to our regional office for review. Please know we take all customer feedback seriously; therefore, someone from our office will be contacting you shortly. If you would like to contact us directly, please feel free to give us a call. Sincerely, Joe Cardello Regional Vice President (346) 331-6600 I was delighted and surprised to get such a quick response and that the Regional VP took this seriously and wouldn���t help handle the situation. It was late so figured I would hear from someone the next business day��� No Call, No email, nothing over the next few days of the trip. By Friday, July 28th, 2017, we still had not heard back from anyone at Enterprise and we had a new problem: 7. The bald front tire now had a nail in it and we were now in Kalispell, MT. I first called the number the Regional VP had left in his email and got routed to his secretary who���s calls were going to VM with a VM message that she was out of town. I called the number back and explained to the person who answered that I needed to speak with Mr. Cardello and that the person she sent me to was out of town. She was rude and stated that the secretary was not out of town and routed me there again. After re-listening to the VM noticed it was an out of office message from MAY. I left a message and then proceeded to email him since he was so quick to reply last time. I learned then that his message: Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent experience with us. Your message and information have been sent to our regional office for review. Please know we take all customer feedback seriously; therefore, someone from our office will be contacting you shortly. If you would like to contact us directly, please feel free to give us a call. Sincerely, Joe Cardello Regional Vice President (346) 331-6600 Was just an auto generated email that is sent out for all emails to his box. Sorely upset I called the local enterprise an Hour out of the way in Missoula, Mt and explained that we were on a road trip from Texas and that their rental had bad tires and now a nail in it and asked what I can do to fix it, after being placed on hold I was asked from my contact information to call me back after he spoke with his manager. While waiting for a call back I tried the other location at the Airport, they offered to switch us to a Dodge Caravan but I graciously declined since I knew we couldn���t ride on those hard seats for the duration of our trip. I asked if he could just replace the bad tires and he advised that we take it to the local firestone in town, that they handle all the tires for enterprise. On our drive to the tire store I received a call from the other Enterprise Rental in town and the gentleman told me that his manager said they are too busy to help us out and that I should just try another location. This was upsetting but at least we were already on our way to Firestone to get the tires taken care of. Upon arriving at Firestone we were told the following: 8. Firestone informed us we were wore down to the secondary rubber and that this minivan should have never been allowed off the lot at Enterprise in this condition. Firestone agreed that both tires needed replacing and after waiting almost �� an hour we were informed that they couldn���t reach anyone at Enterprise to give them the approval needed to replace the tires and that we would need to leave with the non-safe tires and try an Enterprise location. After further discussion and Firestone calling the Enterprise location that sent us in in the first place we finally were able to get 2 new tires on the vehicle. Thinking that at least the main issue was now resolved we begin our trip again, only to have: 9. Rear AC for the kids to go out the next day. Saturday, July 29th, 2017. Both kids 1yrs old and 10yrs old, melting in the back of the car because the AC unit wouldn���t work. Only way we found to by-pass this issue was to use the floor vents only since the ceiling vents no longer worked. 10. And the side door stopped working periodically. It wasn���t until Aug 3rd, 2017 that we finally received a call from Enterprise about the issues we were having with the vehicle. 9 days after we left Conroe, TX for the trip. At that point was were headed back home and did not even bother to fight with them until today when we returned the vehicle back at its location. Where the person we returned the Van to showed no signs of caring what we endured and even tried to over charge us $300+ for insurance we declined. Finally, after getting pricing corrected we were just given a number to call to file a complaint.

    After taking my boat to another shop and having the repairs botched to the point it wouldn't run, I took it to Tim's Boat Repair. Tim did an outstanding job refurbishing my motor, hydraulic steering, fuel system, etc. The repairs were quite extensive and he meticulously ensured all were done to a high degree of accuracy.

    Big H Party Buses
    I contracted to rent the pink panther party bus as described on the website. Without notifying me, they exchanged another bus, which was pink on the outside, but was just gray and dingy on the inside, nothing at all like the pink panther! Their contract does give them the right to substitute a bus, but only for an upgrade, "never for a downgrade". If no upgrade is available, the customer is to be given an option to change or to receive additional discounts. I was never even notified that there would be a change, and when I complained, I was told that this other bus was "newer" and therefore an upgrade. No compensation or apologies were offered. I would not recommend them.

    Dockside Boat Lifts
    While on vacation for two weeks we came back to find that in the process of Dockside Boat Lifts working on our neighbor's home Dockside Boat Lifts had trespassed onto our property, removed our fencing and railing on our staircase into the water, removed the staircase, demolished the entire set of stairs, cut the metal grates on the stairs and put in a shorter set of stairs. Please Note: As noted above we never hired this Company; we have never engaged with them prior to this project and we never asked them to come onto our property; we were not even home. They did not have our permission to conduct any work on our property, they didn't have our Home Owner's Association's permission to proceed with such work, they never sent us anything in writing or call us to advise us accordingly nor was the San Jacinto River Authority aware that work (nor did they approve) by this Company was being conducted on our neighbor's deck and on our own. We contacted this Company and alerted them to these facts and we also asked their workers to leave our property twice and not only did they continue working on the premises despite a cease and desist request from our HOA, the next day they sent the workers back to try and "finish" up some things. We once again asked them to leave and contacted Les and Sandy and they had nothing to say for themselves other than "our client demanded we come back and finish". These people (Les and Sandy) not once came out to see what had happened; they never apologized; they never followed the protocol to confirm their client had received the appropriate approvals to conduct such work and apparently their workforce (who did not speak any English) didn't have common sense enough to stop and ask whether they should be conducting work on a property they were not hired to do work on ...they never stopped and asked themselves or called their Company to confirm permission had been obtained by the owners of the home to remove and demolish a staircase and make it shorter nor did they stop and ask whether they had permission to take down fencing from another home owner's property. When we asked the employees who sent them back they said their "boss" requested they come back; they were clearly in fear of losing their jobs if they did not come back. Please Note: While those employees did not speak English we spoke Spanish (fluent) and made ourselves very clear that they were not come onto our property and we also relayed to them that they never had our permission to remove our property let alone demolish and rebuild it. As you can imagine the shock and disbelief on our end that a Company could operate so recklessly and have such poor business practices. They didn't even come out to the premises to see what had happened. And apparently their employees are fearful enough that they just do what they are told.....Perhaps they received misleading instructions from their client which is never an excuse for what transpired. It is their job to ensure the job is being executed appropriately. It was clear to us that this Company lacked process--this Company according to their site has been in business for years therefore this would suggest 1. They actually come onsite to assess the work being requested by the client 2. They recognize there are protocols to work being done over the water --San Jacinto River Authority an agency they should know very well 2. They recognize that if their work involves coming onto the premises of another homeowner's property that they will require written approvals from the owner's of that home particularly if it requires the removal of property --fencing, railing and an entire staircase. 3. They would have a workforce that has common sense enough to alert them if the project has deviated from what was approved without fearing losing their jobs. If nothing else to protect their own Company --- 4. They would know that in a community with an HOA that the written approval from the HOA should be obtained prior to the start of the project. If that project has contingencies to obtain the permission of the other homeowner and they were not provided then their Company would know not to proceed until the documentation is received. Needless to say we will never do business with them.

    Dockside Boat Lifts
    Following the Memorial Day flooding I needed to replace motors on a boat lift and a jet ski lift. Both had been completely submerged for a couple of days. That was my first experience with Dockside Boat Lifts. The latest work done by Dockside was just as it was before. The work is excellent, fairly priced, and done by really great employees. Highly recommended.

    Was very professional, responsive to some issues after boat returned (malfunctioning gauges) which he fixed at no extra cost. Followed up with phone calls.  We have no boat trailer, so he is excellent for handling our recreational boat on site. Has joined BBB and is working hard to build a business reputation. We will be using him to check out jet ski we acquired with our new home. The boat he worked on now runs like new. He seemed very skilled and informed about our old boat. He is our default marine expert for Lake Conroe. Recommend him highly.

    Budget Rental Trucks
    The manager, Amy, was very helpful in unloading our car off the car trailer one day and then we returned the truck the next day after the contents were removed.  As this was the first time my daughter and I had trailered a car we were nervous about getting it off the trailer, but Amy gave us that "can-do Texas woman" confidence.  As this location also rents cars, we will be back to rent from Amy when we need a car rental.

    Elite Limousines of Houston
    I was looking for either taxi or limousine service to the IAH from our home in Montgomery.  I submitted a handful of requests to various companies and Elite Limousines came out ahead of the rest.  Elite was punctual with their quote and very reasonable compared to other companies. On the pickup day Elite showed up early, which is a good thing (better to be early than late). The driver was nice and professional.  I would definitely use them again!

    Key Largo Construction
    I worked directly with Stuart Cummings, the owner of the company.  Stuart made two visits to the site to develop the cost estimate.  It was obvious where some of the bulkhead had failed, but Stuart was very clear that he could not assess the full deterioration until his crew started digging.  Some of the area adjacent to the bulkhead was covered by a deck as well.  He provided a cost estimate with unit rates for any additional damage they found upon digging.  He also provided an hourly rate for any obstructions they found, like cement, underground.  
    Stuart proposed hand digging around the bulkhead to avoid damaging the bulkhead and boat house.   
    Stuart's crew was able to start the work within a day of my acceptance of the bid.   They did find additional damage and a cement plug that a previous owner had used to try to repair the bulkhead.  Stuart called me and met me at the job to explain what they had found.  The repair was to use "gently used" boards to backup the existing bulkhead.  Stuart did not have enough of those and used new boards, at no additional cost to me.  The bulkhead repair was performed as planned.
    The drain system installation took longer than expected as the crew had some issues working the drain around some conduit and tieback cables.  Upon completion, I was not entirely satisfied with how the drain looked and called Stuart about it.  He and his crew supervisor responded immediately and came out the next day to adjust the drain lines.  
    I was very satisfied with the bulkhead repair and drain line.  Stuart and his crew met every time and work commitment they made.  He had clearly defined the potential for increased costs before the work was started and all costs were as described.  While there was an issue with the drain installation, Stuart responded immediately to address my concerns.   His responsiveness to all my questions and concerns far outweigh the minor glitch with the drain.  
    Key Largo also provided an estimate to coat the boat house decks with a non skid paint material.  I am still considering that work.  
    I highly recommend Key Largo and would use them on any future work of this kind.

    Key Largo Construction
    Everything went extremely well regarding the bulkhead repair. I especially appreciate the quick response I always get from Key Largo. Whenever I call them they are either there the same day or at the latest the next day. Key Largo dug out the sink hole to see where the leak was and quickly determined it was in the side wall at the end of the bulkhead. They added an additional wall next to the side wall which sealed the leak. It was not clear to me where the leak was, given the circumstances but they assured me this was the location and it was fixed. It is now 2 months later that I am writing this review and they are correct; the leak has been fixed and everything is holding well. It is always a pleasure working with Key Largo, for their promptness, expertise and customer service. Living on Lake Conroe, it is not always very easy to get someone out to help with problems that arise, until I found Key Largo where now I'm confident they will come quickly and be able to fix any problem.
