This is my third project with Cambridge Doors and Windows. I continue to be so impressed with the quality of the work provided. Mike Stinson, Diana, and Will are excellent ! Mike put together the project, carefully and concisely explaining what will be done, offering options and presenting a clear description and cost in advance. Nothing unexpected, no surprises ! Diana coordinated from the office as required. And Will and his installation team were the best ! Will's workmanship is far and above the best I have seen. Overall, the job was done as advertised, in the time frame expected. I can say my experiences with Cambridge have been great !

They rescheduled the original installation three times. When they did come all seemed to go right but once it was checked out the door did not slide open without binding. There was a hole in the drywall on the inside too big to even cover with caulk. You can see the outside from the inside on one corner. The trim is not put in correctly so it can't be caulked or painted. The brick on the outside had big holes where the windows were removed and brick mortar was just thrown in. The inside sill plate was never fastened down properly and the screws are hanging out. The brick molding is cut too short on both sides. The deadbolt holes are too big and in the wrong place. Other stuff is screwed up but its minor compared to this stuff. This project was started on 7/14/2018 and nothing has been done since then. The contract calls for half at the start and half when they finished but they billed directly to the finance company without going through me. So in other words they have all the money and will get around to fixing it whenever they want. This project cost $16,000 and to be honest I'm sorry I ever started it and would have been better off buying the doors myself and going to pick workers up from the Home Depot parking lot. I thought with the premium Renewal by Anderson charges you would get a better result than this. I can't put up curtains rehang my pictures or redo my alarm because the project is still not finished. Good luck if you hire Renewal by Anderson but maybe it's just me.

My house was too hot in summer and too cold in winter. After considering various options I decided that the best course of action was to replace our aging aluminium single pane windows. I wanted to go with vinyl replacement windows, which are a more affordable option than the alternatives. After going through a few product offerings and quotes from different providers, I selected replacement window installation by Guardian Windows. I really liked their Earthwise 143 window series manufactured by Showcase Windows & Doors, a Houston-based manufacturer. Following a regional manufacturing philosophy, Earthwise windows are specifically built for the weather in the Gulf Coast region. The Earthwise product sample was significantly heavier, sturdier, and more robustly solid than those of competitors. I also took into account the fact that sample windows tend to be much much smaller (and thus appear to be sturdier) than an actual window. A lot more vinyl goes into the construction of an Earthwise window, compared to competitors in the same price range. While vinyl is an extremely long-lasting material, it is not immune to the effects of the Texas sun. The more vinyl there is in each window, the better. From my research I knew that even the most expensive window is only as good as the quality of its installation. Guardian Windows use their own installers and do not subcontract the work. I knew that the windows would take some time to manufacture to order. I signed the contract with Marty Scarpati, the proprietor, on 31 Jan, with a down payment of $5,400. The new windows arrived after 9 weeks. A crew of two men and a helper arrived in the morning on the date and time scheduled for installation. Joe Harris and Zach (the installers) were very thorough and professional in their work. Installation took three full days. They were very careful to remove every shard of broken glass and old window material before leaving at the end of each day. Two front door sidelites had been manufactured to the wrong size and needed to be reordered. Also, some of the bug screens were either the wrong size or not ready. I agreed to withhold $1,000 and pay the balance. The two remaining sidelites arrived 8 weeks later and were promptly installed by Joe Harris and Zach. I paid the final balance of $1,000. The last bug screens arrived in two lots a few days later. The first lot was delivered and installed by Showcase (the window manufacturer). I am told the bug screens are made by another manufacturer (makes sense). The final lot of three bug screens was left outside my front door but I was able to easily install them. Though there were some hiccups in length of time from initial order to complete final installation, I am not complaining. I am very happy with my new vinyl replacement windows. I have noticed a significant improvement in the inside air comfort due, I believe, to the superior insulation provided by the new windows. The A/C is able to maintain cool temperatures much more effectively and completely gone is the draft of convection hot/cold air that I used to be able to feel from my old windows. They glide open and close effortlessly and also look beautiful!

Disappointed w/ "customer service" is an understatement...We PAID a significant deposit for windows & a door in Nov 2017 w/ a delivery date of 12 Jan 2018. Date came & went, no one called. I called GCW& info...left message w/ a human & no one called back. After multiple calls (over a reasonable period of time) a less than professional receptionist informed us of the new date: +1month was estimate. Date came & no one called. Called & asked to speak to a supervisor...joke. Still, no one called back. Male spouse called and FINALLY someone called back. Fast forward + almost 2months from estimated due date with NO ONE proactively calling. We asked for discount after lengthy delay with absolutely NO customer service (which was touted on the recording when I called and held repeatedly) and unreasonable delay. Response: "no discounts considered until after installation." Let it suffice to say, misled w/ discount too, which was a pittance so NO more Gulf Coast Windows & Doors. Only saving grace is that the installers (Nick & Carlos) were professional and the job is complete & pray we never need warranty service. Would NOT recommend this company.

On Tuesday morning Apex came and replaced the original single pane windows in our 1974 home. I had planned to be out of the house but one of my two children caught a bug and we decided to stick around. Not ideal to have tiny feet running around during a major project like this. I could not have been more thankful for the awesome team at Apex. They took care making sure any tools and debris were out of reach of the little hands. It was noticed and appreciated. I don't think I've ever had people working on our home that would take the time to continuously engage the boys. The peak was definitely watching the crew smile and wave "hello" and "goodbye" to Adam every time they were coming and going. The pride and care the installers took in the job was noticed not only by myself but my neighbors that began approaching them and commenting on the job. The last hour before leaving I noticed them going through and carefully inspecting each window, cleaning and touching up spots I didn't even notice. The crew finished up yesterday afternoon and I couldn't be more excited about how they turned out. I would definitely recommend them. After living with these windows for 24 hours I wish I would have done it sooner. Cheers to not surviving another Houston summer with single pane windows! Thank you Apex!!

My problem with them was with the installation. They were supposed to gone over a certification check list. They didn?t do any of that, they just sort of gave me the package. They didn?t show me how to use the windows because they said to let stuff dry. The next morning when I tried to raise the window it wouldn?t work. Then I did call the salesperson. He really redeemed them because he did come out and showed me how to do the windows, but he should have actually demoed the window before he showed them. If he had done that then I would have known everything that he was going over.

The other problem was that I could have written them back and told them all of this, but right after he put the windows in I left town and I was gone for a month. When I came back I contacted him. They said I would have to deal with their contract, but I never got a copy of that. I guess I need to contact them so they can give me whatever their contract is as far as repair of the windows.

He did respond when I called. They weren?t really on time, they came a little late. It was the installers who really messed them up. When they finished the installing and I was asking them questions they just didn?t seem very helpful. When they came in to install it just really turned me off with the company. They didn?t really do things like they should have.

They really should tell people about the windows, how they work and all of that in the beginning. They did say, ?our windows are really great and they?re the cheapest and all of that.? I got too occupied with the price of the window when I really should have, I guess looked a little closer at the quality of the window. I won?t know really the quality until after time. The only thing that they will guarantee is if the window malfunctions, they will replace the window itself. If they didn?t install it right then they are not going to come and fix that. That should be sort of explained in advance.

When I tried to open the window, that window is very heavy. I could barely open it myself, I had no idea those windows were that heavy. I guess that should have been explained to you a head of time or something, the weight of the window. . I did have to call them a couple of times, but they did call me back.

Work went great. Workers were reluctant to show 2nd day because they thought it was raining, but not raining at our house. Took much longer to get windows made than we were told. Almost 5 weeks instead of 3-4. Once workers there, went great!

Really great. Not only did our home but my parent's home as well. We went with double pane, single hung vinyl replacement windows. The work crew was efficient, polite, and did a great job. One window came damaged from manufacturer and Tim recognized it right away. Ordered another and came out promptly to make sure it was right. Our utility bills have gone down significantly with the new windows. We are very pleased.

It went very well. Tim was a professional from the beginning to the end. The work was was done in a very timely manner, installation was performed neatly and in clean. Yes I would recommend for other work.

I had 5 windows from another contractor who did not come back. I talked to Mike Stinson from Cambridge Doors and Windows and asked  him if he could install these windows i had sitting in my garage for 2 1/2 months. Mike was kind enough to take the job that someone else left behind and get our windows installed in one day! They worked quickly and efficiently right before the rain started here in Missouri City.
Love the work they did and we will definitely work with them again in the future and recommend them out to other people.
