    Two Brothers Foundation Repair
The original company recommended extensive work to shore up the rest of the foundation that was not previously done. A second company also gave an estimate that did not match what the original company recommended. I called Aaron and Two Brothers to get a third recommendation. Aaron promptly returned all my calls and answered all my questions. He set up an appointment and was on time. He even put up with my puppy following him around! He explained the results of the measurements, and recommended no work be done at this time. He conceded that at some point in the future, work would probably be needed, but he would wait as right now it is a minor issue. Two Brothers is a smaller company, but I appreciated Aaron's honesty and reliability, and I will be calling him when I need the work done.

Andre Wells came out and measured my elevation all around my home and said I did not need repair at this time. He told me what to look for in a bad foundation and really tried to educate me. It was nice to have someone who did not try to sell me on something I did not need. If I ever need foundation repair, I will call them.

    Structured Foundation Repair Houston
At first, the inspector said the signs are minor problems. At his presentation, he sounds like he wants us to hire the company to fix the problem with $7,000+ repair. I thought we could just do a minor fixes. Very Confusing. Also, company has no liability when water pipes/plumbing are broken. Even More confusing.

    Dura Pier Foundation Repair
The estimate was free. He explained why the price was the price. He had some materials with research, so I could give my feedback as to if I thought the estimate was fair. He was real thorough. I thought the gentleman who came out did a really good job. But, all foundation companies focus on the "other company is going to tell you this". They should focus more on what they're saying and what they're offering me. They were expensive, but it was competitive. He was professional and well spoken. I understood everything he was trying to say to me. He was on-time. I still haven't decided who I'm going to use.

    ALLIED FOUNDATION SPECIALISTS INC
Ah where to begin... Hired to fix a foundation, they showed us where in the house the wood floor would have to be removed. They said carpet would have to be pulled back. Price was $9400. No problem... Came in after the work was done. They used NO protection on anything in the house while working. They destroyed every inch of our home's 2 year old wood floors. You could see plain as day where they dragged their tools across the floor, from the door to each of the work spots then back out. Cement was all over the wood floor, including some well preserved foot prints made of concrete. And even better the holes in the wood floor they cut were twice the size they claimed. So, $8000 later we had a new floor installed. The poor carpet, also 2 years old, also had to completely replaced. NOT reinstalled as they claimed it could be. They CUT the carpet in every room (even a room they did no work in!) and rolled it up, throwing it out of the room. So there went another $1000. If that weren't enough, they tore part of our deck up, ~15% of it, without telling us this was needed. They were nice enough to leave it uninstalled with nails sticking up for us to play with. I didn't watch them work (I have a job) but I know their equipment is painted blue... I know this because their tools did a good job of beating the **** out of our trim and walls leaving our white walls with some lovely racing stripes... So another $9000 went to pay to have the entire house including trim and doors repaired and finished. We had paid $4500 deposit for the work. They sent out a gentleman named Luis who's look of horror when he entered the house was priceless. It was that "oh crap we messed up bad" look we've all felt before. He tried to keep his composure, ensuring us the floor could be buffed out LOL and offered $500 off the bill because any more would result in them losing money haha! We refused to pay, asked for a manager, etc. We were given the name and email of a manager named George. We were told to email him our concerns and he would get back with us. Well, that didn't happen. George is apparently very busy lol... So, having filed our dispute we waited to be contacted to figure out the deal. No contact came for a month at which time we got a call from collections informing us our balance was past due. I took the time to explain the situation, the collection person fumbled around trying to give a few hundred off. I said I wanted everything in writing but he insisted on settling the matter on the phone. Finally he gave in to their mistake, saying "well I guess I'll just mark the account paid and fire Luis". Trying to guilt trip US. Unbelievable. If only that were the end of the story... A few months later guess what? They put a lein on the house for $11,401! I'm looking forward to seeing this go to court! I'm guessing they'll be paying us the 11k

    Bonilla Foundation Repair
It was very easy to schedule an appointment for an inspection/estimate, and they were very accommodating when we had to change the appointment time. Mr. Bonilla was punctual, professional and friendly.  Even though he doubted any work would be needed after looking at the crack, he completed a thorough inspection and took measurements to be sure. No work was needed at this time, but if we need it in the future, Bonilla Foundation Repair is the first one we will call.

Jesus Was A Carpenter So Am I

The owner, Lupe Mata, came in and said he would make it look great for $1200. I was unaware that all of it was going to be custom this and custom that. He made nor submitted any drawings and stated that he needed to keep his people busy or he would loose some of the by the weekend. He would give me a good price.

We went ahead and let him start but when I came in everything was custom which was more than we planned on but for $1200 I didn't think that it was too much. We received a custom laundry hamper with shelving and custom wainscoting. The only complaint is that the contractor used some of the bead board I purchased at my request so that it wouldn't go to waste but he didn't use all of it and instead I have a mix of high end bead board with my low end bead board. The high end came from Bison Lumber unfinished and the low end came from Lowes with a white finish and a slightly different bead pattern than the other. If he would have used all of one board it wouldn't have looked as out of place. I still have several panels of my bead board left over so there was enough to go around. Also, he didn't like the way the previous contractor installed the new door facing and rosettes so he had his carpenter remove then and he did a worse job putting them back in place than the original.

Also, we decided to go ahead and replace the flooring. He suggested some flooring and we liked it so he quoted $2800 but we were also talking about painting all of the walls and the all of the new wood he just installed. So we thought it included painting. Well it did not so we found out that the tile he installed he already had leftover from a previous job, which was PAID FOR, and the total footage he installed was approximately 150sq feet. That comes out to $18.66 per square foot. We found the tile at Floor and Decore on sale for $1.99 for the same 16"X16" tile he installed.

Once we found out the price didn't include paint he quoted $1800. During this whole ordeal his none of his people show up at a decent time. They would get to my house about 9:30 - 10:00 in the morning and leave before 5pm which made the job go on for a longer time than it needed to. Also his carpenter would have his wife drive him to my house and while he was working she would sit in the truck with their 4 kids all day but one day I drove home and found them running around the truck in the driveway. I have a pool in the backyard and I asked the owner what would happen if they got injured? I would be held responsible.

I finally paid him to get rid of him but during this process he stated that he was a part of the ministry at the jail, not sure which one, and his business card says "Jesus was a carpenter and so am I or JWACASAI". This guy was a rip off from the moment he started and he uses religion to get you comfortable with him as he is very charismatic. He gives you a price without a contract promises the world then charges you out the butt for his services. No doubt his carpenter was good but that doesn't excuse the rest of the crap he pulled.

If you would like to see pictures of the mess I have plenty to show. You can contact me at gwooten1971@hotmail.com and request them.

Abry Brothers Foundation & Structural Solutions
The work was done fine and with good professionalism. However, we did not receive a warranty certificate for the work, plus the foundation repair caused new cracks in our walls. The issue of the new cracks was not explained to me as a potential consequence, so I called my Abry Bros. representative and did not receive a call back. I called and left three messages on his cell phone spaced out over several weeks to no avail.
I then called the home office because I still needed the warranty certificate, but I also asked them to have my sales rep call me back so I could ask him about our new cracks in the wall. Left a voicemail with still no callback for days! I think on my second try with the home office I finally got a person on the line and they mailed me a warranty certificate but never followed up with my rep calling me back to answer my question after several more days. I had to call the home office a third time to tell them that I received my warranty cert in the mail but to please have my sales rep call me back! Instead of getting him to call me, the scheduled a home visit for him to examine our walls. While I was disappointed that I had to wait a couple of weeks just to get my simple question answered about new cracks, a face-to-face appointment sounded good to me... unfortunately, he was a no show! When I called to inquire about our appointment, the receptionist said that unfortunately my sales rep had suffered a heart attack "several weeks ago." I really felt bad for him, but at the same time, why did no one contact me to reschedule our appointment? They apologized and set a new time with me and with my exact same sales rep. When I asked them about having the exact same sales rep, "I thought he had a heartache recently?" The admin assistant's answer was, "Oh no, that was someone else who had a heart attack." Wow. Very confusing.
Work was done 4/21/15 and my appointment to examine the new cracks is scheduled for 6/18/15. That's two months of several unanswered phone calls, one no show, and I still don't have my simple question answered. Before writing this, I decided to use Google to answer my question, which it did. Unfortunately, my expectation of responsiveness has not been met. Abry Brothers may do good work, and they may be experts at what they do (I'm taking them at their word on that), but two months to answer a client's question is not acceptable in my book.

    Church Services
Over a two year period we talked to an engineer and five different contractors about problems with our home's foundation, which is contributed to the 3 year drought in our area. Church Services was neither the cheapest nor the most expensive. We chose Church because they responded and dealt with us in a very professional manner, and provided the most assurances. If you decide to use Church, I would recommend asking for Don Croxton. He was very fair and honest, and we know you can trust him to give you solid advice.
This was a very big job. I took five days during which time installation of 30 exterior pilings, 5 pilings in the garage, and six pilings in the interior was done. It was cold, and during the last part of the job it began to rain. The workers carried on in spite of
adverse conditions. It is very hard, dirty, noisy work. The foreman's English was fairly good, but I am glad that I speak Spanish. Communications with him were easier that way. My only complaint would be about worker's conditions. I was surprised
that a big company like Church did not provide a Port-o-Potty for their workers, and I did not see many, if anyone, with ear protection or dust masks. Perhaps such a thing is just too difficult to enforce.
Our house is now level, doors open and close properly, all the shutters work properly again, a few new cracks, but other large cracks closed up. All bushes removed appear to be dying, but I really am not surprised by that. I will see what Spring brings. Like I mentioned before, it was miserably cold and wet the day they finished, and I feel they did the best job they could under those conditions putting everything back in order.

    Fix My Slab
They were very professional, very knowledgeable but the price was a little too high. Even though we didn’t go with Fix My Slab, I would recommend them for people getting estimates. I decided not to go with them because price is one of the reasons but other than that, I think they would be fine. They were punctual. He answered all our questions and he was very prepared.
