Disaster Fire and Water General Contracting
This is the same owner of DFW General contracting. See that review. Charles Christie and Jason Schemmel. Same guys have that as are listed here as contacts. I had to spend upwards of $3,500 less than a year after they repaired my roof. They did a horrible job!!! The flashing around our chimney looked like a child did the work. Holes, screws and tons of caulking. I've added photos here of what these guy's call workmanship, or lack there of. I've been trying to pin them down to sue them. They may try to change their company name but I will find them. I'm back having to repair the inside of my home due to the water damage from their shoddy work. I will go as far as saying NEVER hire these guys and I mean ANY work. Don't even let them cut your grass.

    Master Services
The technician thoroughly inspected the chimney, the attic, and the interior leaks. He said that he felt that the leakage could be stopped by waterproofing the exterior of the chimney chase, sealing the flashing, doing minor tuck point repairs to cracks in mortar joints, replacing the chase cover (chimney cap) and spark arrestor, along with a chimney pipe storm collar. They refused to warranty however, saying "if there is any sandy or gritty mortar present there is no warranty." An additional addendum in the warranty says that "water leak repairs are NOT 100% guaranteed if a leak has occurred." (This should have been a warning sign to us, in spite of the technician's insistence that the leaks could be fixed this way.) The repairs were done in October 2017. In late 2017/early 2018 we had additional leakage. I called Master Services and they sent out a different group of technicians who said that some of the flashing sealant had not been done correctly by the original technicians. They did the repairs in February 2018. During the next major rainstorm, there were additional leaks. In April 2018, I called again and they sent out yet another group of technicians. They said that they couldn't see where it would be leaking but took a piece of sheet metal up and "jury-rigged" it to fit the spark arrestor and just below to "deflect rain." The next rainstorm brought more leakage in the same locations as all previous leaks. My husband said to not call them again. We are currently having major work done to the chimney by another chimney repair company. They pointed out to us that the chimney cap install was done by Master Services who screwed it on from the top, leaving it vulnerable to leaks from the top. (Chimney caps are to be screwed on from the sides.) In addition, the chimney cap was not allowing the water to run off the cap, but rather had become a "birdbath". They also pointed out that our spark arrestor was not replaced as Master Services had claimed, but was rusted and probably original to the home. In addition, a water test on the chimney indicated that whatever waterproofing solution that Master Services had used, did not work. The bricks and mortar wicked up all water sprayed onto them. The biggest problem, however, is that the sheet metal attached to the spark arrestor on Master Services' third attempted repair (to "deflect rain"), had almost completely blocked the exhaust from the chimney and was a huge fire hazard. Fortunately, we had not used the fireplace after the metal was attached since the weather had turned warm. Other contractors called since Master Services' repairs, have indicated that no amount of sealant or waterproofing could have fixed the deteriorating brick and mortar. Master Services should have known that such a repair would not stop the leaks.

    Sage Roofing
Sage roofing repaired several homes in our neighborhood, when it was time for our roof to be replaced we asked our neighbor for their business card. Brittini Tilley arrived the next day. She was professional informed and in the coldest day in January up on our roof putting a tarp on a leaky area around our chimney stack. When her crews came for roofing they were fast efficient & clean. The team that replaced the gutters & repaired the fireplace the same. During the wind & rain storms Brittini called to see if there were any issues. Call Brittini w/Sage roofing she will take care of your roof.

    Hales Chimney Cleaning & Repair
I called three contractors on Angie's List and the only one which responded with the courtesy of a call back was Hales. They came out a few days later and provided a quote. They took measurements, as the chimney caps needed to be fabricated. They told us that the fabricator was behind schedule but they would return to install the new caps in a few weeks. In the mean time, they repaired deteriorated brick mortar and the mortar caps, which had deteriorated to the point that water would enter the attic through the cracked mortar. We have not seen any signs of water penetration, since the initial fix. They came back today to complete the job, installing two new metal chimney caps. I am very happy with the service and the courtesy and professionalism of the crew, led by Clint. I would recommend them without hesitation.

    Hales Chimney Cleaning & Repair
These guys were able to get me scheduled within three days while a few others I had called couldn't get to me for weeks. Clint did our work and was very professional and courteous from start to finish. They arrived on time and had the chimney swept and area cleaned up within 40 minutes or so. This also included two small repairs that needed to be made. They explained (and showed) each to me prior to starting the work. One was a seal to bring my 10 year old chimney up to code and the second was sealing a minor gap between the fireplace and the brick from foundation shift. They painted both to nicely match/cover the work.
We get our chimney cleaned every year (sometimes every two if we forget one), and we will be using Hales's from now on.

    Hales Chimney Cleaning & Repair
He arrived on time, was courteous, quite professional, and he provided us a picture of the top of the chimney showing that it was in good order.  He was friendly and conscientious.  I would definitely call him again.

    Prime Roofing
The initial connection was a little difficult. I signed up for a Big Deal and I think the company was overwhelmed by the response. Once I got in contact with the owner (Dean) everything went well. He personally did the inspection and oversaw the work. I'm pleased with the quality of the work and would recommend him. Just be patient with the growing pains he's experiencing.

    Update May 6, 2014
One of the chimney caps blew off during a recent storm.  I contacted Dean.  After several phone calls, he finally came out to the house to retrieve the chimney cap so he could repair it for re-install.  That was 3 weeks ago.  I've called him at least 12 times since and he hasn't returned a single call.  Next step will be the lawyer's office.

    Lucas Roofing and Inspections Inc
I called Lucas Roofing (Jeff Fahrendorf) on Aug 19, 2013. He returned my call and came to my house Aug.21 to complete the bid. I have 5 projects to complete. Mr. Fahrendorf only gave a verbal bid on 2 of the 5 projects with a promise to complete a bid on all 5 in a few days. No return bid was made. I left a message on Aug 27, 2013. Mr. Fahrendorf returned my call, again, with no progress made on the bid. He promised to have the bid by the end of the day or early next morning. Mr. Fahrendorf never called with a final bid. This company is in very close proximity to my home. Lucas Roofing/Mr. Fahrendorf has no professionalism.

    Black Hat Chimney Sweep
We called because we knew that there was things wrong with our chimney, namely that it was capped completely and leaked when it rained. The technician was super helpful, friendly, and full of advice.
Knowing nothing about chimneys we had thought about making ours wood burning. He very politely explained why this would take a lot more work and money because our chimney was designed to be a gas burning chimney. He also explained all our options and everything that was wrong with the chimney which was not as much as I expected.
He showed up when he said he would and did the work in an efficient and professional manner. I would recommend him to anyone needing chimney work. He was polite, kind, and did not try to oversell us on anything...
