    I used this guy off and on a for a while. He never showed up when he said he would, he always lied about when he would do things, he never invoiced me. The final straw was I asked him to come to he house to give me an estimate for a considerable amount of work. I was going to spend tens of thousands with this guy and was happy to do so. However, after 4 months of begging for an estimate, I finally let him go. I would not use this company.

    I have seen sprinkler heads knocked off and even knocked into the pool without anyone stopping to talk to me about it or apologize. My biggest complaint is if trash has blown into my yard, like candy wrappers, they won't take the time to pick it up. They mow over it and I end up picking up 100s of little pieces as opposed to them picking up one big one. Gino needs to deal with that.

    We thought we had found the right company after meeting with Guiseppe and our account manager Randall. We were told we'd receive the best customer service and the highest level of attention to detail with our landscaping, yard and flower bed maintenance. From the very first week Baldi began providing service (May 15, 2017) we had areas of grass that were left uncut and edges along fencing where the grass was left long in places. We found out after three weeks of service when our account manager finally came for an in-person inspection that the work crew had been using a riding mower for our small yard instead of a regular push mower; this had left strips of grass uncut and large clumps of clippings throughout our back yard. In June when flowers were planted the crew planted them in the mulch and not the soil so the flowers died quickly and had to be replaced; the second round of planting resulted in the crew puncturing our drip lines in three places and we were not notified of the damage. We found the damage on our own as we were leaving town at 4:00 a.m. and repaired the lines ourselves. When we discussed this damage with our account rep we were told that "these things happen" and were offered no reimbursement for the expenses we incurred for repair. We were repeatedly told that a better trained crew would be sent to service our lawn, but it literally took our account manager having to come on site to physically show staff the correct way to mow, edge and trim. This wasn't rocket science, so it appeared to us that more than one member of the crew just didn't care about their quality of work, which was not what we were expecting. The final straw was at the end of August when we went out of town. The week before leaving town we had notified our account manager on a Monday that there was a leak at the double check and were told it would be Saturday before it could be repaired. There had been a little over an inch of rain that week, so we thought that would be enough water for our landscaping to wait for the repair that Saturday. We came back to town the following Monday night to find that the repair had not been performed by Guiseppe Baldi and our landscaping had not been watered in 7 days in the Texas heat. Our grass had dead spots and some of our landscaping had wilted and was drying out. A call to both our account manager and Guiseppe Baldi yielded only excuses as to why the repair was not performed, claims that a voicemail had been left the Saturday the repair was supposed to have taken place (but we have no record of receiving this voicemail), and that Mr. Baldi felt he was doing the right thing by not moving forward with a repair without our approval when we had specifically requested repair the week before. Still no attempt was made to come and fix the issue, leaving us with no resolution on when we could use our sprinkler system without water shooting up in the air by the front curb while the system ran. We called our plumber (a reputable company that has been in business for over 30 years in our city) to request an after-hours repair the day we got back in town. The repair was performed, Baldi was notified and Guiseppe Baldi took it upon himself to not only send us a very unprofessional email indicating that we had poor judgment, that the action our plumber took was "illegal" and then proceeded to personally leave harassing and defamatory messages on all social media outlets our plumber's company has. Our plumber's company was inexcusably and inaccurately accused of wrong doing, when in fact the repair had been made within city code and included a city inspection verifying the work had been done correctly which we have a copy of. All because Guiseppe Baldi was "not given the chance" to earn the money to make the repair and we went with the second opinion our plumber's company gave us, which is any homeowner's right to do, and perform the repair as quickly as possible the night we got back into town. Guiseppe Baldi terminated us as a customer in his unprofessional email calling us "unreasonable", however we were grateful to have been let out of the service contract we had been abiding by while we had attempted for Baldi Gardens to live up to their reputation during the 3 1/2 months this company serviced our lawn. Needless to say we definitely can't recommend this company.

    They do a fantastic job, they arrive at almost the same time each week, with a team of 5-6 men. They are in and out in less than 15 minutes. They always make sure the yard looks great before leaving. They also make sure the gate is closed. Would definitely recommend them.

    Jenco is now using name "Clear Choice." We hired Play-in the- Dirt to redo our patio, regrade our back yard and to put down sod. We also needed some changes to the sprinkler system and the landscaper said that they worked with Jenco. When they looked at the system, Jenco said that whole system needed to be replaced. We asked for a diagram and eventually got a rough sketch even after we provided a dimensioned layout of the house, lot and existing system. It was worthless because actual didn't match the drawing. Landscaper said that all was okay. We should have checked detail by detail but we didn't which was our fault. Sprinklers in beds disregarded how we watered a major flower bed. Plants in pots didn't get any water and all beds on side of house and in back yard are on same circuit causing most to be overwatered when flowers get what they need. One sprinkler head is directly behind a tree/bush so it cannot water the yard in that area. Several boxes are as much as a foot below grade making it difficult to mow in these areas. One area has too many heads and one side has none. We also had a problem with our backlow valve and could not contact Jenco for help. Old one worked well for over 20 years -- new one was replaced in April. Do not use Jenco or whatever they are calling themselves now.

    Flagstones look great but gaps are too wide for polymetric sand used to fill gaps. Initial installation of the gap filler was all over the stones and it looked unprofessional. They had a workman clean this up and we accepted it, but it didn't hold up. We researched this and found that the gaps are too large for the product. In flower beds they were to put weed block down and then mulch the beds. We've found several areas where they must have run out of weed block and used the empty mulch bags instead. Plastic bags don't allow ground to breathe and below the bags is a wet mess. Our biggest concern was drainage and we've also found that the patio and yard have many places where ground was NOT graded toward the french drains. In one place they covered over a flagstone "path" that facilitated surface drainage with sod -- sod was placed right over the stones! They also told us to use their irrigation contractor, Jenco (now Clear Choice), to replace our existing sprinkler system. We spent an additional $5000 with them and found later that there is a lawn head behind a tree, there are two head watering the "sodded flagstone path" and none on the side of our garage. They didn't put our main flower bed on a separate valve, they use existing pipes so we now have to water all back yard beds the same even though only one needs to be watered more often costing us more water usage. We also have several boxes that are 8" to 12" below the grade level making it difficult to mow the grass in these areas. Jenco replaced our backflow valve above grade against the building per what they said was new Mansfield code. Since old one which had been in use for 20 years was below ground level, I asked if it needed to be protected from freezing and was told that it would be okay without a cover -- it froze last winter and had to be replaced. We were not able to contact them for corrections. Since Play-in-the-Dirt told us to use their supplier, we expected them to supervise the installation and finishing but they would not take any responsibility for the irrigation fiasco.

    Heavenly Landscapes
    Courtney is a great guy who really wants to do the job well. When there was a miscommunication with the schedule, he was quick to fix it. I asked him to please trim the hedges when he could--2 or 3 weeks since it was a really overgrown job--he got them nicely done that week. This is one of those times when you pay a few bucks more for proper customer service from a local business. (I'm in Mansfield.)

    At Your Request Landscaping and Tree Service
    I only had about 50% of my bermuda front and side yard still living due to too much shade.  I decided to go with a complete re-do with St. Augustine.  I contacted David Perkins for a quote and he came out within a week to give the estimate.  He was personable and gave a quote on the spot after measuring.  I had large low spots due to the dirt washing out in the street so 3 yards of topsoil was recommended to fill in those areas and an area up against the house in addition to the sod.
    The day of the install, David was parked outside the house a full hour before the crew was scheduled to arrive to meet the delivery truck.  The King Ranch Turfgrass truck arrived and David directed the placement of the pallets to make it most efficient for his crew.  This was all completed by 9:00 when the crew promptly arrived and got to work.  Chris, the team lead walked around the yard with David and I to make sure Chris knew what the plan was for filling in the low spots and where the sod was going.  Chris was very professional and courteous and relayed the info to the rest of the crew.  They thoroughly marked all the sprinkler heads and had two tillers running to prep the yard.  As the tillers were getting the areas of bermuda tilled under, the rest of the crew were hauling and spreading the topsoil to level the yard.  I never saw anyone just standing around.
    Once prepped, the grass went down very fast.  Chris periodically checked with me to make sure everything was looking how I wanted it.  The qty of sod was spot on.  There were maybe 12 or so pieces left which they asked me where I wanted them to be placed.  I ended up putting in another bare area of the yard I hadn't planned to do just yet.  They made a good effort to clean up the driveway best they could but it had rained solid for the week prior so the yard was terribly mushy which tracked everywhere, but that was to be expected.  The rain later that day washed everything clean.  All this was done in a time span of 5 hours.
    A week after it was laid, I panicked a bit as the grass was standing taller than when it was first laid, but started looking wilted at the tips and was getting some black spots on it.  I called David on a Saturday and he came back out the next day on a Sunday to take a look.  He mentioned the grass will get a bit worse looking due to it getting cut out of the fields and the stress, and suggested I take a break from watering it for a day expecting it had a bit too much water from a few days of solid rain after it was laid and my subsequent watering.  Sure enough, that did the trick.  I appreciated him coming out so soon to set my mind at ease.
    Grass has been down for 3 weeks and a couple of days now and it is really kicking in at this point.  Haven't mowed it yet due to instructions to not mow for 4-6 weeks but can't wait to see what it looks like after the first cut.
    I am very pleased with the level of service provided and quality of the grass that was put down.  I would recommend them for sod work and will use them if I decide to re-do my back yard.

    I cannot say enough about Todd. He was very responsive, friendly and very knowledgeable.  He came out on the day promised to look assess my yard and immediately gave me a quote. The same week,  he assigned a worker to my yard by the name of Germaine, who was equally friendly and did a very good job.  I appreciate the fact that Todd did not just send his worker to do the job but checked on him to be sure he did it well.
